Poznata prirodna znamenitost na otočju Galapagos, Darwinov luk, urušio se zbog erozije, objavilo je ekvadorsko ministarstvo okoliša, prenosi Jutarnji list.

Riječ je o prirodnoj i izuzetno atraktivnoj kamenoj formaciji jugoistočno od Darwinova otoka koja više ne postoji u dosadašnjoj formi. Naime, luka više nema, samo dva stupa koja su ga držala.

"Riječ je o posljedici prirodne erozije. Darwinov luk je od prirodnog kamena i nekada je bio povezan s otokom. Mjesto se smatra jednim od najboljih mjesta na planetu za ronjenje i promatranje jata morskih pasa i drugih morskih vrsta", navelo je ministrastvo u priopćenju.

Luk se srušio u ocean oko 11 sati ujutro po lokalnom vremenu, a srećom nije bilo ozlijeđenih ronilaca. Otočje Galapagos stavljeno je pod Unescovu zaštitu 1978. godine, a slavnim ga je učinio britanski prirodoslovac Charles Darwin nakon što su ga otoci inspirirali za teoriju o evoluciji vrsta. Na otočju živi oko 30.000 stanovnika.

"Rušenje luka je podsjetnik koliko je krhak svijet u kojem živimo. Dok ljudi ne mogu učiniti gotovo ništa da spriječe eroziju i slične geološke procese, možemo zaštititi prekrasni podmorski svijet. Žao mi je bilo čuti da se srušio. Bio je jedna od glavnih atrakcija, ispod valova pod njim skriva se najveći broj morskih pasa na svijetu", komentirala je Jen Jones iz Zaklade za očuvanje Galapagosa.

Poznata prirodna znamenitost na otočju Galapagos, Darwinov luk, urušio se zbog erozije, objavilo je ekvadorsko ministarstvo okoliša, prenosi Jutarnji list.

Riječ je o prirodnoj i izuzetno atraktivnoj kamenoj formaciji jugoistočno od Darwinova otoka koja više ne postoji u dosadašnjoj formi. Naime, luka više nema, samo dva stupa koja su ga držala.

"Riječ je o posljedici prirodne erozije. Darwinov luk je od prirodnog kamena i nekada je bio povezan s otokom. Mjesto se smatra jednim od najboljih mjesta na planetu za ronjenje i promatranje jata morskih pasa i drugih morskih vrsta", navelo je ministrastvo u priopćenju.

Luk se srušio u ocean oko 11 sati ujutro po lokalnom vremenu, a srećom nije bilo ozlijeđenih ronilaca. Otočje Galapagos stavljeno je pod Unescovu zaštitu 1978. godine, a slavnim ga je učinio britanski prirodoslovac Charles Darwin nakon što su ga otoci inspirirali za teoriju o evoluciji vrsta. Na otočju živi oko 30.000 stanovnika.

"Rušenje luka je podsjetnik koliko je krhak svijet u kojem živimo. Dok ljudi ne mogu učiniti gotovo ništa da spriječe eroziju i slične geološke procese, možemo zaštititi prekrasni podmorski svijet. Žao mi je bilo čuti da se srušio. Bio je jedna od glavnih atrakcija, ispod valova pod njim skriva se najveći broj morskih pasa na svijetu", komentirala je Jen Jones iz Zaklade za očuvanje Galapagosa.

Poznata prirodna znamenitost na otočju Galapagos, Darwinov luk, urušio se zbog erozije, objavilo je ekvadorsko ministarstvo okoliša, prenosi Jutarnji list.

Riječ je o prirodnoj i izuzetno atraktivnoj kamenoj formaciji jugoistočno od Darwinova otoka koja više ne postoji u dosadašnjoj formi. Naime, luka više nema, samo dva stupa koja su ga držala.

"Riječ je o posljedici prirodne erozije. Darwinov luk je od prirodnog kamena i nekada je bio povezan s otokom. Mjesto se smatra jednim od najboljih mjesta na planetu za ronjenje i promatranje jata morskih pasa i drugih morskih vrsta", navelo je ministrastvo u priopćenju.

Luk se srušio u ocean oko 11 sati ujutro po lokalnom vremenu, a srećom nije bilo ozlijeđenih ronilaca. Otočje Galapagos stavljeno je pod Unescovu zaštitu 1978. godine, a slavnim ga je učinio britanski prirodoslovac Charles Darwin nakon što su ga otoci inspirirali za teoriju o evoluciji vrsta. Na otočju živi oko 30.000 stanovnika.

"Rušenje luka je podsjetnik koliko je krhak svijet u kojem živimo. Dok ljudi ne mogu učiniti gotovo ništa da spriječe eroziju i slične geološke procese, možemo zaštititi prekrasni podmorski svijet. Žao mi je bilo čuti da se srušio. Bio je jedna od glavnih atrakcija, ispod valova pod njim skriva se najveći broj morskih pasa na svijetu", komentirala je Jen Jones iz Zaklade za očuvanje Galapagosa.
