U dosad nezabilježenom dubinskom poduhvatu grupa istraživača uspjela je podmornicom na daljinsko upravljanje doći do američkog ratnog broda koji od 1944. leži na dubini od 6500 metara u Tihom oceanu kod Filipina. 

Nikada ranije ekspedicije nisu išle toliko duboko kako bi dospjele do nekog potopljenog broda, piše britanski Guardian.

Ekipa istraživača tehnološke kompanije Caladan Oceanic iz Teksasa, pod Filipinskim morem uspjela je u dva osmosatna zarona prošlog mjeseca posebnom opremom doći do olupine 115 metara dugog razarača USS Johnston blizu otoka Samar. Obišli su brod, snimili ga i fotografirali, prenosi Jutarnji. 

Brod je potopljen 25. listopada 1944. tijekom bitke za Lejtski zaljev dok su se američke snage borile kako bi oslobodile Filipine, tadašnju američku koloniju, od japanske okupacije. Podaci američke mornarice kazuju da je od 327 članova posade preživljeno njih svega 141.

Lokacija potapanja otkrivena je 2019. od strane druge ekspedicije, no olupina je bila van dometa njihove podmornice na daljinsko upravljanje, na dubini od 6456 metara.

- Upravo smo završili najdublji zaron u povijesti kako bi našli glavnu olupinu razarača USS Johnston - ushićeno je na društvenim mrežama objavio osnivač tvrtke Victor Vescovo koji je upravljao podmornicom. 

Dodao je kako su locirali dvije trećine broda koje su gotovo netaknute. Tako se na oplati broda još uvijek vidi broj 557, a na mjestu su ostali i topovi, cijevi za ispaljivanje torpeda i brojne strojnice.

Vođa tima, posvjesničar Parks Stephenson, kazao je da je brod bio izložen paljbi tada najmoćnijeg japanskog broda, ujedno i najvećeg ratnog broda ikad izgrađenog, carskim vojnim brodom Yamato, ali se neko vrijeme uspješno branio. 

Vescovo kaže kako će svi prikupljeni podaci biti poslani američkoj mornarici, zaključuje Guardian.

U dosad nezabilježenom dubinskom poduhvatu grupa istraživača uspjela je podmornicom na daljinsko upravljanje doći do američkog ratnog broda koji od 1944. leži na dubini od 6500 metara u Tihom oceanu kod Filipina. 

Nikada ranije ekspedicije nisu išle toliko duboko kako bi dospjele do nekog potopljenog broda, piše britanski Guardian.

Ekipa istraživača tehnološke kompanije Caladan Oceanic iz Teksasa, pod Filipinskim morem uspjela je u dva osmosatna zarona prošlog mjeseca posebnom opremom doći do olupine 115 metara dugog razarača USS Johnston blizu otoka Samar. Obišli su brod, snimili ga i fotografirali, prenosi Jutarnji. 

Brod je potopljen 25. listopada 1944. tijekom bitke za Lejtski zaljev dok su se američke snage borile kako bi oslobodile Filipine, tadašnju američku koloniju, od japanske okupacije. Podaci američke mornarice kazuju da je od 327 članova posade preživljeno njih svega 141.

Lokacija potapanja otkrivena je 2019. od strane druge ekspedicije, no olupina je bila van dometa njihove podmornice na daljinsko upravljanje, na dubini od 6456 metara.

- Upravo smo završili najdublji zaron u povijesti kako bi našli glavnu olupinu razarača USS Johnston - ushićeno je na društvenim mrežama objavio osnivač tvrtke Victor Vescovo koji je upravljao podmornicom. 

Dodao je kako su locirali dvije trećine broda koje su gotovo netaknute. Tako se na oplati broda još uvijek vidi broj 557, a na mjestu su ostali i topovi, cijevi za ispaljivanje torpeda i brojne strojnice.

Vođa tima, posvjesničar Parks Stephenson, kazao je da je brod bio izložen paljbi tada najmoćnijeg japanskog broda, ujedno i najvećeg ratnog broda ikad izgrađenog, carskim vojnim brodom Yamato, ali se neko vrijeme uspješno branio. 

Vescovo kaže kako će svi prikupljeni podaci biti poslani američkoj mornarici, zaključuje Guardian.

U dosad nezabilježenom dubinskom poduhvatu grupa istraživača uspjela je podmornicom na daljinsko upravljanje doći do američkog ratnog broda koji od 1944. leži na dubini od 6500 metara u Tihom oceanu kod Filipina. 

Nikada ranije ekspedicije nisu išle toliko duboko kako bi dospjele do nekog potopljenog broda, piše britanski Guardian.

Ekipa istraživača tehnološke kompanije Caladan Oceanic iz Teksasa, pod Filipinskim morem uspjela je u dva osmosatna zarona prošlog mjeseca posebnom opremom doći do olupine 115 metara dugog razarača USS Johnston blizu otoka Samar. Obišli su brod, snimili ga i fotografirali, prenosi Jutarnji. 

Brod je potopljen 25. listopada 1944. tijekom bitke za Lejtski zaljev dok su se američke snage borile kako bi oslobodile Filipine, tadašnju američku koloniju, od japanske okupacije. Podaci američke mornarice kazuju da je od 327 članova posade preživljeno njih svega 141.

Lokacija potapanja otkrivena je 2019. od strane druge ekspedicije, no olupina je bila van dometa njihove podmornice na daljinsko upravljanje, na dubini od 6456 metara.

- Upravo smo završili najdublji zaron u povijesti kako bi našli glavnu olupinu razarača USS Johnston - ushićeno je na društvenim mrežama objavio osnivač tvrtke Victor Vescovo koji je upravljao podmornicom. 

Dodao je kako su locirali dvije trećine broda koje su gotovo netaknute. Tako se na oplati broda još uvijek vidi broj 557, a na mjestu su ostali i topovi, cijevi za ispaljivanje torpeda i brojne strojnice.

Vođa tima, posvjesničar Parks Stephenson, kazao je da je brod bio izložen paljbi tada najmoćnijeg japanskog broda, ujedno i najvećeg ratnog broda ikad izgrađenog, carskim vojnim brodom Yamato, ali se neko vrijeme uspješno branio. 

Vescovo kaže kako će svi prikupljeni podaci biti poslani američkoj mornarici, zaključuje Guardian.
