Na nedavnoj klimatskoj konferenciji COP27, koju je u Egiptu održao UN, naglasak je bio na prelasku na "zelene" izvore energije. U tom smjeru okrenuta je čitava pomorska industrija. Na tu temu oglasio se i Det Norske Veritas (DNV), neovisna fondacija i jedan od vodećih svjetskih pružatelja usluga upravljanju rizicima. Sjedište joj je u Norveškoj, a ima 300 ureda u više od sto zemalja.

Istraživanje DNV-a razmotrilo je tri scenarija zelene tranzicije. Scenarij po uzoru na IMO-ov cilj smanjenja emisija za 50 posto do 2050. zahtijevao bi da do sredine ovog stoljeća oko 300.000 pomoraca prođe obuku za rad s novim zelenim gorivima. Najambiciozniji plan potpune dekarbonizacije cijele industrije do 2050. zahtijevao bi dodatnu obuku za 450.000 pomoraca samo do kraja ovog desetljeća, te još najmanje 800.000 pomoraca do sredine 2030-ih.

- Postizanje sigurne dekarbonizacije mora biti naš prioritet. Moramo surađivati kako bismo zaštitili naše ljude, brodove i okoliš. Ovo istraživanje ukazuje na izazove i korake koje industrija može poduzeti kako bi podržala i zaštitila svoju radnu snagu", rekao je u priopćenju Knut Ørbeck-Nilssen, izvršni direktor DNV Maritimea koji je o ovoj temi govorio na Nor-Shippingu, međunarodnom sajmu brodogradnje i pomorske opreme koji se u lipnju održava u Oslu.

On naglašava kako se mora ubrzati razvoj prema dekarbonizaciji industrije.

- Pomorstvo mora raditi zajedno, u tandemu s drugim sektorima i sudionicima, ako želimo postići naše najambicioznije najnužnije ciljeve. Potrebni smo jedni drugima da bismo se kretali u budućnost, sada više nego ikada - kaže.

Zadovoljan je kako do prihvaćena dosadašnja izvješća i preporuke u kojima se LNG potencira kao nedvojbeno "najizvedivije prijelazno gorivo" za brodarstvo.

- Ako pogledamo narudžbe novogradnje, sada je aktualan trend za alternativni pogon na dva goriva, s LNG-om kao dominantnim gorivom. Trećina brodova po knjigama narudžbi, prema bruto tonaži, gradi se za rad na alternativna goriva".

Ørbeck-Nilssen kaže da su potrebna "znatna ulaganja" - "i to brzo" - u smislu istraživanja sigurnih i ekonomski izvedivih ugljično neutralnih goriva, kao i razvoja optimalnih tehnologija za njihovo korištenje.

No, to će biti uzalud, naglašava, ako se ne premosti glavna prepreka napretku, a to je dostupnost goriva:

"Prema našem nedavnom izvješću, moramo proizvesti 5% ukupne potrošnje energije u brodarstvu iz ugljično neutralnih goriva do 2030. To zahtijeva velika ulaganja... i to je samo početak.

"A ako se strategija IMO-a revidira 2023., potičući punu dekarbonizaciju do 2050., tada su nam potrebna sredstva i infrastruktura za isporuku oko 270 milijuna tona alternativnih goriva, prema našem istraživanju. To je ogroman izazov i zahtijeva akciju, odmah."

Ovo je problem koji brodarstvo ne može riješiti samo.Treba razvijati usku suradnju u industriji, s proizvođačima energije, razvojem infrastrukture, lukama i, ne manje važno, nacionalnim i međunarodnim vlastima i organizacijama kako bismo omogućili takvu temeljnu promjenu, navodi se u priopćenju.

Na nedavnoj klimatskoj konferenciji COP27, koju je u Egiptu održao UN, naglasak je bio na prelasku na "zelene" izvore energije. U tom smjeru okrenuta je čitava pomorska industrija. Na tu temu oglasio se i Det Norske Veritas (DNV), neovisna fondacija i jedan od vodećih svjetskih pružatelja usluga upravljanju rizicima. Sjedište joj je u Norveškoj, a ima 300 ureda u više od sto zemalja.

Istraživanje DNV-a razmotrilo je tri scenarija zelene tranzicije. Scenarij po uzoru na IMO-ov cilj smanjenja emisija za 50 posto do 2050. zahtijevao bi da do sredine ovog stoljeća oko 300.000 pomoraca prođe obuku za rad s novim zelenim gorivima. Najambiciozniji plan potpune dekarbonizacije cijele industrije do 2050. zahtijevao bi dodatnu obuku za 450.000 pomoraca samo do kraja ovog desetljeća, te još najmanje 800.000 pomoraca do sredine 2030-ih.

- Postizanje sigurne dekarbonizacije mora biti naš prioritet. Moramo surađivati kako bismo zaštitili naše ljude, brodove i okoliš. Ovo istraživanje ukazuje na izazove i korake koje industrija može poduzeti kako bi podržala i zaštitila svoju radnu snagu", rekao je u priopćenju Knut Ørbeck-Nilssen, izvršni direktor DNV Maritimea koji je o ovoj temi govorio na Nor-Shippingu, međunarodnom sajmu brodogradnje i pomorske opreme koji se u lipnju održava u Oslu.

On naglašava kako se mora ubrzati razvoj prema dekarbonizaciji industrije.

- Pomorstvo mora raditi zajedno, u tandemu s drugim sektorima i sudionicima, ako želimo postići naše najambicioznije najnužnije ciljeve. Potrebni smo jedni drugima da bismo se kretali u budućnost, sada više nego ikada - kaže.

Zadovoljan je kako do prihvaćena dosadašnja izvješća i preporuke u kojima se LNG potencira kao nedvojbeno "najizvedivije prijelazno gorivo" za brodarstvo.

- Ako pogledamo narudžbe novogradnje, sada je aktualan trend za alternativni pogon na dva goriva, s LNG-om kao dominantnim gorivom. Trećina brodova po knjigama narudžbi, prema bruto tonaži, gradi se za rad na alternativna goriva".

Ørbeck-Nilssen kaže da su potrebna "znatna ulaganja" - "i to brzo" - u smislu istraživanja sigurnih i ekonomski izvedivih ugljično neutralnih goriva, kao i razvoja optimalnih tehnologija za njihovo korištenje.

No, to će biti uzalud, naglašava, ako se ne premosti glavna prepreka napretku, a to je dostupnost goriva:

"Prema našem nedavnom izvješću, moramo proizvesti 5% ukupne potrošnje energije u brodarstvu iz ugljično neutralnih goriva do 2030. To zahtijeva velika ulaganja... i to je samo početak.

"A ako se strategija IMO-a revidira 2023., potičući punu dekarbonizaciju do 2050., tada su nam potrebna sredstva i infrastruktura za isporuku oko 270 milijuna tona alternativnih goriva, prema našem istraživanju. To je ogroman izazov i zahtijeva akciju, odmah."

Ovo je problem koji brodarstvo ne može riješiti samo.Treba razvijati usku suradnju u industriji, s proizvođačima energije, razvojem infrastrukture, lukama i, ne manje važno, nacionalnim i međunarodnim vlastima i organizacijama kako bismo omogućili takvu temeljnu promjenu, navodi se u priopćenju.
