Spužve, kao sjedilački organizmi, poznati su po tome da djeluju kao prave tvornice neobičnih kemikalija koje izlučuju u morsku vodu ili na svoju površinu. Budući da te tvari imaju antimikrobne, citostatičke ili druge toksične učinke, zanimljive su za farmaceutsku industriju, ali i za industriju boja i lakova koja razvija antiobraštajne premaze za zaštitu plovila, objavio je Aquarium Pula na svojoj Facebook stranici.

Tako npr. visok sadržaj antiobraštajne tvari (alikilpirimidinijevih polimera) ima spužva roda Renieri koji spriječavaju prihvaćanje ličinki rakova vitičara i do 50%.

U Sredozemlju poznata je vrsta Renieri sarai, čija je površina na opip skliska kao mokar sapun zahvaljujući alikilpiridinijevim polimerima koji su prema kemijskom sastavu slični deterdžentima.

Procjenjuje se da danas poznajemo samo oko 1% svih tvari koje proizvode morski organizmi.

Prava spužva je rijetka

Pojam spongiferna dna označava dna na kojima uspijevaju rožnate spužve Demospongia - Kremenorožnjače) koje se iskorištavaju komercijalno, ali i fotofilna promjenjiva sumporača (Aplysina aerofoba). Ova dna, obično infralitoralna, prostiru se od nekoliko metara do 40 m dubine i postoje praktički samo u tropskim ili suptropskim morima, na prijelazu između tvrdih i pomičnih dna.

Spongiferna dna su razvijena posebice u srednjem Jadranu, pretežno u otvorenom dijelu otočne zone, a poznata su kao lovišta za komercijalno važne prave spužve Spongia officinalis adriatica - spužve visoke kvalitete. Također je česta i divlja spužva Hippospongia communis.

Prava spužva se lako može razlikovati od divlje; ima manje i brojnije izrasline na površini te manje komorice u unutrašnjosti. Nažalost, postala je prilično rijetka; zbog prevelikog izlova u prošlosti, populacije se te vrste nikad više nisu obnovile u zadovoljavajućoj količini.

U Hrvatskoj, prikupljanje spužvi ima dugu tradiciju. 2004. godine na otoku Krapnju proslavljena je 300.-ta obljetnica bavljenja uzgojem, branjem i prerađivanjem spužvi.

Spužve, kao sjedilački organizmi, poznati su po tome da djeluju kao prave tvornice neobičnih kemikalija koje izlučuju u morsku vodu ili na svoju površinu. Budući da te tvari imaju antimikrobne, citostatičke ili druge toksične učinke, zanimljive su za farmaceutsku industriju, ali i za industriju boja i lakova koja razvija antiobraštajne premaze za zaštitu plovila, objavio je Aquarium Pula na svojoj Facebook stranici.

Tako npr. visok sadržaj antiobraštajne tvari (alikilpirimidinijevih polimera) ima spužva roda Renieri koji spriječavaju prihvaćanje ličinki rakova vitičara i do 50%.

U Sredozemlju poznata je vrsta Renieri sarai, čija je površina na opip skliska kao mokar sapun zahvaljujući alikilpiridinijevim polimerima koji su prema kemijskom sastavu slični deterdžentima.

Procjenjuje se da danas poznajemo samo oko 1% svih tvari koje proizvode morski organizmi.

Prava spužva je rijetka

Pojam spongiferna dna označava dna na kojima uspijevaju rožnate spužve Demospongia - Kremenorožnjače) koje se iskorištavaju komercijalno, ali i fotofilna promjenjiva sumporača (Aplysina aerofoba). Ova dna, obično infralitoralna, prostiru se od nekoliko metara do 40 m dubine i postoje praktički samo u tropskim ili suptropskim morima, na prijelazu između tvrdih i pomičnih dna.

Spongiferna dna su razvijena posebice u srednjem Jadranu, pretežno u otvorenom dijelu otočne zone, a poznata su kao lovišta za komercijalno važne prave spužve Spongia officinalis adriatica - spužve visoke kvalitete. Također je česta i divlja spužva Hippospongia communis.

Prava spužva se lako može razlikovati od divlje; ima manje i brojnije izrasline na površini te manje komorice u unutrašnjosti. Nažalost, postala je prilično rijetka; zbog prevelikog izlova u prošlosti, populacije se te vrste nikad više nisu obnovile u zadovoljavajućoj količini.

U Hrvatskoj, prikupljanje spužvi ima dugu tradiciju. 2004. godine na otoku Krapnju proslavljena je 300.-ta obljetnica bavljenja uzgojem, branjem i prerađivanjem spužvi.

Spužve, kao sjedilački organizmi, poznati su po tome da djeluju kao prave tvornice neobičnih kemikalija koje izlučuju u morsku vodu ili na svoju površinu. Budući da te tvari imaju antimikrobne, citostatičke ili druge toksične učinke, zanimljive su za farmaceutsku industriju, ali i za industriju boja i lakova koja razvija antiobraštajne premaze za zaštitu plovila, objavio je Aquarium Pula na svojoj Facebook stranici.

Tako npr. visok sadržaj antiobraštajne tvari (alikilpirimidinijevih polimera) ima spužva roda Renieri koji spriječavaju prihvaćanje ličinki rakova vitičara i do 50%.

U Sredozemlju poznata je vrsta Renieri sarai, čija je površina na opip skliska kao mokar sapun zahvaljujući alikilpiridinijevim polimerima koji su prema kemijskom sastavu slični deterdžentima.

Procjenjuje se da danas poznajemo samo oko 1% svih tvari koje proizvode morski organizmi.

Prava spužva je rijetka

Pojam spongiferna dna označava dna na kojima uspijevaju rožnate spužve Demospongia - Kremenorožnjače) koje se iskorištavaju komercijalno, ali i fotofilna promjenjiva sumporača (Aplysina aerofoba). Ova dna, obično infralitoralna, prostiru se od nekoliko metara do 40 m dubine i postoje praktički samo u tropskim ili suptropskim morima, na prijelazu između tvrdih i pomičnih dna.

Spongiferna dna su razvijena posebice u srednjem Jadranu, pretežno u otvorenom dijelu otočne zone, a poznata su kao lovišta za komercijalno važne prave spužve Spongia officinalis adriatica - spužve visoke kvalitete. Također je česta i divlja spužva Hippospongia communis.

Prava spužva se lako može razlikovati od divlje; ima manje i brojnije izrasline na površini te manje komorice u unutrašnjosti. Nažalost, postala je prilično rijetka; zbog prevelikog izlova u prošlosti, populacije se te vrste nikad više nisu obnovile u zadovoljavajućoj količini.

U Hrvatskoj, prikupljanje spužvi ima dugu tradiciju. 2004. godine na otoku Krapnju proslavljena je 300.-ta obljetnica bavljenja uzgojem, branjem i prerađivanjem spužvi.
