Najnovija znanstvena istraživanja pokazuju da ulovljene lignje, poput riba i ostalih glavonožaca, ako se ne usmrte odmah, tijekom gušenja na zraku zbog intenzivne dehidracije i velike količine mliječne kiseline proizvode toksine, tvari koje smanjuju kvalitetu njihova mesa i otvrdnjavaju ga, u nekim slučajevima toliko da postane neugodno žilavo.
Zato znanstvenici preporučuju da se ulovljene lignje usmrte čim se izvade iz mora, jasno, osim ako se žive ne koriste za lov velikih grabljivica. Osim toga, naglašavaju da je to i humano, jer nije moralno, kao ni bilo koje drugo živo biće, mučiti ih sporom smrću – ostaviti ih da polako ugibaju na obali, pajolama…
Živac na vratu
A kako humano eutanazirati lignju? Da bi se lignja usmrtila, mora joj se odrezati živac mozga koji leži u njezinu vratu. Poznato je da lignja ima tri srca, ali jedan mozak. Ako joj se probadanjem vrata oštrim predmetom prereže živac mozga, lignja odmah ugiba i potpuno pobijeli. Kromoforne stanice njezina tijela odmah izgube funkciju i lignja dobije poznatu bijelu prozirnu boju koja označava njezinu smrt.
Tim postupkom postiže se još nešto. Naime, ogromna većina lignji, kao i sipa, ne stigne prije humane eutanazije izbaciti crnilo! Tako se ono sačuva za izradu delikatese, ali se sačuva i oprema i odjeća ribolovca, te sve ostalo što bi moglo biti zamrčeno tintom umirućeg glavonošca.

Japanci su najviše spoznali i učinili na primjeni humane eutanazije lignje i sipe. Izmislili su i ikejime (ikijime) metodu najbržeg i najhumanijeg ubijanja riba i glavonožaca, koja se izvodi umetanjem kakvog šiljka u stražnji dio mozga, što izaziva trenutačnu smrt mozga, ako se uradi ispravno. Napravili su i posebne alate koji taj čin čine lakšim, brzim i učinkovitim.
Za usmrćivanje liganja i sipa taj alat, poznat kao Ike Jime, na rukohvatu ima oštri produžetak nalik odvijaču. Kraj produžetka nalikuje maloj špatuli, ali ne ravnog nego sječiva oblika polumjeseca, i to vrlo oštrog. Svrha mu je lakše prodiranje kroz meso vrata i presijecanje živca lignje.

Sam čin eutanazije je puno lakši nego kod riba. Nakon što se lignja prihvati, najbolje mrežnom prihvatnicom, što nježnije i opreznije treba je očima gore položiti na tvrdu podlogu i rukom nježno prihvatiti za tuljak. Tijekom tih radnji najveća je opasnost od izbacivanja crnila.
Mekše meso
Zatim treba potražiti mozak, koji je između očiju, malo bliže tijelu. Od njega živčani sistem ide prema tijelu i s druge strane prema glavi i ticalima.
Usmrćivanje se izvodi kao što je prikazano slikama br. 1 do 4. Najprije se treba prerezati živčani sistem koji vodi u tuljak. Ike Jime se vrhom okrenutim prema repu najprije postavi pod kutom od oko 60 stupnjeva iza glave lignje, a ispred plašta, a potom naglim pokretom zarije u lignju.
Kad se to dogodi prekida se dotok krvi u tuljak i on pobijeli, dok glava i pipci zadržavaju boju. Ne učini li se to dobro, samo će polovina, lijeva ili desna, tuljka pobijeliti. Tada treba postupak ponoviti uz neznatno pomicanje alata u stranu koja nije pobijelila.

Nakon toga treba eutanazirati i glavu s pipcima. Alat se izvadi, pod kutom od oko 60 stupnjeva okrene vrhom prema glavi i zarije između očiju lignje. Ako se to obavi valjano, pobijelit će glava i kraci. Na opisani način usmrćena lignja i sipa su puno mekše, lakše probavljive i znatno ukusnije.

[text] => {OCMSplitter}Najnovija znanstvena istraživanja pokazuju da ulovljene lignje, poput riba i ostalih glavonožaca, ako se ne usmrte odmah, tijekom gušenja na zraku zbog intenzivne dehidracije i velike količine mliječne kiseline proizvode toksine, tvari koje smanjuju kvalitetu njihova mesa i otvrdnjavaju ga, u nekim slučajevima toliko da postane neugodno žilavo.
Zato znanstvenici preporučuju da se ulovljene lignje usmrte čim se izvade iz mora, jasno, osim ako se žive ne koriste za lov velikih grabljivica. Osim toga, naglašavaju da je to i humano, jer nije moralno, kao ni bilo koje drugo živo biće, mučiti ih sporom smrću – ostaviti ih da polako ugibaju na obali, pajolama…
Živac na vratu
A kako humano eutanazirati lignju? Da bi se lignja usmrtila, mora joj se odrezati živac mozga koji leži u njezinu vratu. Poznato je da lignja ima tri srca, ali jedan mozak. Ako joj se probadanjem vrata oštrim predmetom prereže živac mozga, lignja odmah ugiba i potpuno pobijeli. Kromoforne stanice njezina tijela odmah izgube funkciju i lignja dobije poznatu bijelu prozirnu boju koja označava njezinu smrt.
Tim postupkom postiže se još nešto. Naime, ogromna većina lignji, kao i sipa, ne stigne prije humane eutanazije izbaciti crnilo! Tako se ono sačuva za izradu delikatese, ali se sačuva i oprema i odjeća ribolovca, te sve ostalo što bi moglo biti zamrčeno tintom umirućeg glavonošca.

Japanci su najviše spoznali i učinili na primjeni humane eutanazije lignje i sipe. Izmislili su i ikejime (ikijime) metodu najbržeg i najhumanijeg ubijanja riba i glavonožaca, koja se izvodi umetanjem kakvog šiljka u stražnji dio mozga, što izaziva trenutačnu smrt mozga, ako se uradi ispravno. Napravili su i posebne alate koji taj čin čine lakšim, brzim i učinkovitim.
Za usmrćivanje liganja i sipa taj alat, poznat kao Ike Jime, na rukohvatu ima oštri produžetak nalik odvijaču. Kraj produžetka nalikuje maloj špatuli, ali ne ravnog nego sječiva oblika polumjeseca, i to vrlo oštrog. Svrha mu je lakše prodiranje kroz meso vrata i presijecanje živca lignje.

Sam čin eutanazije je puno lakši nego kod riba. Nakon što se lignja prihvati, najbolje mrežnom prihvatnicom, što nježnije i opreznije treba je očima gore položiti na tvrdu podlogu i rukom nježno prihvatiti za tuljak. Tijekom tih radnji najveća je opasnost od izbacivanja crnila.
Mekše meso
Zatim treba potražiti mozak, koji je između očiju, malo bliže tijelu. Od njega živčani sistem ide prema tijelu i s druge strane prema glavi i ticalima.
Usmrćivanje se izvodi kao što je prikazano slikama br. 1 do 4. Najprije se treba prerezati živčani sistem koji vodi u tuljak. Ike Jime se vrhom okrenutim prema repu najprije postavi pod kutom od oko 60 stupnjeva iza glave lignje, a ispred plašta, a potom naglim pokretom zarije u lignju.
Kad se to dogodi prekida se dotok krvi u tuljak i on pobijeli, dok glava i pipci zadržavaju boju. Ne učini li se to dobro, samo će polovina, lijeva ili desna, tuljka pobijeliti. Tada treba postupak ponoviti uz neznatno pomicanje alata u stranu koja nije pobijelila.

Nakon toga treba eutanazirati i glavu s pipcima. Alat se izvadi, pod kutom od oko 60 stupnjeva okrene vrhom prema glavi i zarije između očiju lignje. Ako se to obavi valjano, pobijelit će glava i kraci. Na opisani način usmrćena lignja i sipa su puno mekše, lakše probavljive i znatno ukusnije.
