Kompanija Princess Yachts spada među vodeće svjetske proizvođače brodova, a njihove su luksuzne jahte itekako tražene na svim meridijanima. Tvrtka je počela s radom 1965. godine pod imenom Marine Projects (Plymouth) Ltd i u startu se bavila čarterom.

No, kad je njihovo prvo plovilo pod nazivom Project 31, dužine 9,45 metara, namijenjeno vlastitoj floti postalo vrlo traženo, ispravno su shvatili da je vrijeme za potpunu posvećenost proizvodnji.

Počeci su bili uspješni jer je tvrtka iz Plymoutha od 1966. do 1969. prodala više od 150 plovila izgrađenih u njihovu škveru. To im je dalo krila za daljnje djelovanje, pa su se od 1970. posvetili gradnji brodova od stakloplastike. Posebno je uspješna na tržištu bila Princess 32, koja se u 10 godina prodala u 1200 primjeraka, što je čini jednom od najuspješnijih u povijesti engleskog škvera.

Olesinski - jamac uspjeha

Po mnogima se ključni trenutak na putu do svjetskog vrha dogodio 1980., kad je Bernard Olesinski postao šef dizajnerskog odjela, a prva jahta nove generacije bila je Princess 30DS. Ona je kupcima bila vrlo zanimljiva jer je od 1981. do 1989. prodano više od 500 primjeraka. Njezin uspjeh na tržištu osigurao je Olesinskome bezuvjetno povjerenje uprave, te njegov dizajnerski ured i dalje vodi glavnu riječ u projektiranju jahti.

Olesinski nije spavao na lovorikama, nego je već 1981. predstavio Princess 45, u to doba najveću motornu jahtu u Velikoj Britaniji. U idućih devet godina za nju se odlučilo 400 kupaca, sve dok je nije zamijenila Princess 455.

Veliko priznanje brodogradilištu iz Plymoutha stiglo je 1988., kada su dobili nagradu Queen’s Export, što je 1989. uzrokovalo gradnju novog proizvodnog kompleksa Langage 1.

Idući korak dogodio se 1997. otvaranjem centrale u Newport Streetu, dok je velika potražnja za njihovim jahtama uvjetovala proširenje tvornice Langage 2, gdje se gradila serija V Class.

Promjena imena 2001.

Zanimljivo je kako se engleski škver službeno zvao Marine Projects sve do 2001., kad je dobio novo ime – Princess Yachts International PLC.

U razdoblju od 2005. do 2010. prezentirali su brojne modele jahti, a 2009. su od Ministarstva obrane na dugi niz godina najprije unajmili, pa onda i dobili škver South Yard, smješten u povijesnom Devonport Royal Dockyardu. S obzirom na činjenicu da su jahte Princess postale statusni simbol i tražene u cijelom svijetu, vlada u Londonu financijski im je pomogla 2011. kako bi se kreiralo još radnih mjesta.

Godina 2012. također je bila važna jer su krenuli s prodajom druge generacije Princess V39, te su lansirali Princess 40M, najveću kompozitnu motornu jahtu ikada napravljenu na Otoku. Imala je smještaj od šest zvjezdica za 12 ljudi, kabinu za sedam članova posade i najveći volumen u svojoj klasi. Krasili su je brojni superlativi, kao što su 230 kg teška sidra na provi, kao i ogromna garaža na krmi, gdje su lako stala dva vodena skutera i gumenjak od 6,2 metra.

Proslava 50 godina rada

U 2015. je Princess Yachts proslavio 50 godina rada na festivalu Cannes Yachting, gdje su pokazali svoj prvi, ali restaurirani čarter model Project 31, zajedno s potpuno novom jahtom Princess 35M. Englezi rado ističu kako vode računa o ekologiji, jer su 2016. sklopili partnerstvo s udrugom Marine Conservation Society u smislu očuvanja svjetskih oceana.

Svake godine Britanci lansiraju nove jahte i čini se da njihovu poslovnom uspjehu nema kraja, barem dok je iskusni Bernard Olesinski odgovoran za dizajn. Tako na jesen 2021. stiže Princess X80, o kojoj smo već pisali u Otvorenom moru.

Usput rečeno, danas Princess Yachts prodaje brodove u 119 država, ima 3000 zaposlenika i impresivan proizvodni pogon površine 95.000 četvornih metara. Kod nas prestižne britanske jahte prodaje tvrtka Princess Yachts Adriatic.

Kompanija Princess Yachts spada među vodeće svjetske proizvođače brodova, a njihove su luksuzne jahte itekako tražene na svim meridijanima. Tvrtka je počela s radom 1965. godine pod imenom Marine Projects (Plymouth) Ltd i u startu se bavila čarterom.

No, kad je njihovo prvo plovilo pod nazivom Project 31, dužine 9,45 metara, namijenjeno vlastitoj floti postalo vrlo traženo, ispravno su shvatili da je vrijeme za potpunu posvećenost proizvodnji.

Počeci su bili uspješni jer je tvrtka iz Plymoutha od 1966. do 1969. prodala više od 150 plovila izgrađenih u njihovu škveru. To im je dalo krila za daljnje djelovanje, pa su se od 1970. posvetili gradnji brodova od stakloplastike. Posebno je uspješna na tržištu bila Princess 32, koja se u 10 godina prodala u 1200 primjeraka, što je čini jednom od najuspješnijih u povijesti engleskog škvera.

Olesinski - jamac uspjeha

Po mnogima se ključni trenutak na putu do svjetskog vrha dogodio 1980., kad je Bernard Olesinski postao šef dizajnerskog odjela, a prva jahta nove generacije bila je Princess 30DS. Ona je kupcima bila vrlo zanimljiva jer je od 1981. do 1989. prodano više od 500 primjeraka. Njezin uspjeh na tržištu osigurao je Olesinskome bezuvjetno povjerenje uprave, te njegov dizajnerski ured i dalje vodi glavnu riječ u projektiranju jahti.

Olesinski nije spavao na lovorikama, nego je već 1981. predstavio Princess 45, u to doba najveću motornu jahtu u Velikoj Britaniji. U idućih devet godina za nju se odlučilo 400 kupaca, sve dok je nije zamijenila Princess 455.

Veliko priznanje brodogradilištu iz Plymoutha stiglo je 1988., kada su dobili nagradu Queen’s Export, što je 1989. uzrokovalo gradnju novog proizvodnog kompleksa Langage 1.

Idući korak dogodio se 1997. otvaranjem centrale u Newport Streetu, dok je velika potražnja za njihovim jahtama uvjetovala proširenje tvornice Langage 2, gdje se gradila serija V Class.

Promjena imena 2001.

Zanimljivo je kako se engleski škver službeno zvao Marine Projects sve do 2001., kad je dobio novo ime – Princess Yachts International PLC.

U razdoblju od 2005. do 2010. prezentirali su brojne modele jahti, a 2009. su od Ministarstva obrane na dugi niz godina najprije unajmili, pa onda i dobili škver South Yard, smješten u povijesnom Devonport Royal Dockyardu. S obzirom na činjenicu da su jahte Princess postale statusni simbol i tražene u cijelom svijetu, vlada u Londonu financijski im je pomogla 2011. kako bi se kreiralo još radnih mjesta.

Godina 2012. također je bila važna jer su krenuli s prodajom druge generacije Princess V39, te su lansirali Princess 40M, najveću kompozitnu motornu jahtu ikada napravljenu na Otoku. Imala je smještaj od šest zvjezdica za 12 ljudi, kabinu za sedam članova posade i najveći volumen u svojoj klasi. Krasili su je brojni superlativi, kao što su 230 kg teška sidra na provi, kao i ogromna garaža na krmi, gdje su lako stala dva vodena skutera i gumenjak od 6,2 metra.

Proslava 50 godina rada

U 2015. je Princess Yachts proslavio 50 godina rada na festivalu Cannes Yachting, gdje su pokazali svoj prvi, ali restaurirani čarter model Project 31, zajedno s potpuno novom jahtom Princess 35M. Englezi rado ističu kako vode računa o ekologiji, jer su 2016. sklopili partnerstvo s udrugom Marine Conservation Society u smislu očuvanja svjetskih oceana.

Svake godine Britanci lansiraju nove jahte i čini se da njihovu poslovnom uspjehu nema kraja, barem dok je iskusni Bernard Olesinski odgovoran za dizajn. Tako na jesen 2021. stiže Princess X80, o kojoj smo već pisali u Otvorenom moru.

Usput rečeno, danas Princess Yachts prodaje brodove u 119 država, ima 3000 zaposlenika i impresivan proizvodni pogon površine 95.000 četvornih metara. Kod nas prestižne britanske jahte prodaje tvrtka Princess Yachts Adriatic.
