Vjerovanje da su omega-3 masne kiseline prisutne prvenstveno u hrani životinjskog podrijetla vrlo je uobičajeno.
Međutim, ove se masne kiseline zapravo mogu pronaći i u mnogim biljnim namirnicama. Biljke bogate omega-3 masnim kiselinama uključuju čak i obični tušt koji se često pogrešno smatra korovom i odstranjuje iz vrta.
Ako se povremeno počastite tuštom, lakše ćete se približiti preporučenom dnevnom unosu omega-3 masnih kiselina, koje su vrlo važne za dobro zdravlje, osobito za zdravlje našeg mozga i za zaštitu od upala.
Čak i oni koji su svjesni da tijelu možemo osigurati potrebne količine omega-3 masnih kiselina isključivo iz biljnih izvora obično su ograničeni uglavnom na hranu poput oraha i sjemenki lana te chia sjemenki.

Za alfa-linolensku kiselinu (ALK) karakteristično je da se u našem tijelu može pretvoriti u druge dvije najvažnije vrste omega-3 masnih kiselina, a to su eikozapentaenska kiselina (EPA) i dokozaheksaenska kiselina (DHK).
Tušt sadrži do sedam puta više alfa-linolenske kiseline od iste količine špinata. Iako se zeleno lisnato povrće povremeno nalazi na popisima namirnica koje sadrže omega-3 masne kiseline, tušt svakako zaslužuje posebno mjesto.
Osim omega-3 masnih kiselina, u tuštu se nalaze mnoge druge korisne tvari koje su vrlo važne za zdravlje, pa čak i za život.
Između ostalog, ova biljka sadrži puno vitamina C i neke važne vitamine B, a istodobno tušt može pomoći u opskrbi tijela određenim mineralima. Između ostalog, može sadržavati kalij, magnezij, kalcij i željezo.

Vjerovanje da su omega-3 masne kiseline prisutne prvenstveno u hrani životinjskog podrijetla vrlo je uobičajeno.

Ako se povremeno počastite tuštom, lakše ćete se približiti preporučenom dnevnom unosu omega-3 masnih kiselina, koje su vrlo važne za dobro zdravlje, osobito za zdravlje našeg mozga i za zaštitu od upala.
Čak i oni koji su svjesni da tijelu možemo osigurati potrebne količine omega-3 masnih kiselina isključivo iz biljnih izvora obično su ograničeni uglavnom na hranu poput oraha i sjemenki lana te chia sjemenki.
Pritom zaboravljaju na manje očite mogućnosti, poput tušta (kao i na neke druge vrste zelenog lisnatog povrća). Kao i kod većine drugih biljnih izvora omega-3 masnih kiselina, u tuštu se nalazi alfalinolenska kiselina, koja je jedna od tri glavne podvrste.

Za alfa-linolensku kiselinu (ALK) karakteristično je da se u našem tijelu može pretvoriti u druge dvije najvažnije vrste omega-3 masnih kiselina, a to su eikozapentaenska kiselina (EPA) i dokozaheksaenska kiselina (DHK).
Tušt sadrži do sedam puta više alfa-linolenske kiseline od iste količine špinata. Iako se zeleno lisnato povrće povremeno nalazi na popisima namirnica koje sadrže omega-3 masne kiseline, tušt svakako zaslužuje posebno mjesto.
Osim omega-3 masnih kiselina, u tuštu se nalaze mnoge druge korisne tvari koje su vrlo važne za zdravlje, pa čak i za život.
Između ostalog, ova biljka sadrži puno vitamina C i neke važne vitamine B, a istodobno tušt može pomoći u opskrbi tijela određenim mineralima. Između ostalog, može sadržavati kalij, magnezij, kalcij i željezo.

Mogućnosti korištenja tušta u prehrani vrlo su raznolike. Budući da nema jako izražen okus, možete ga dodati u razna jela. Može se koristiti slično potočarki. Možete ga dodati u salate, sendviče, namaze, rolade itd. Moguća je i toplinska obrada, ali ga nemojte kuhati predugo.
