Povodom osvajanja drugog mjesta na međunarodnoj jezičnoj olimpijadi, gradonačelnik Mato Franković primio je danas Romanu Delić, učenicu petog razreda Osnovne škole Montovjerna. Prijemu su nazočili i ravnateljica Osnovne škole Montovjerna, Lucija Vujica te Romanina mentorica Ana Šimunović.

Hippo English Language Olympiad je međunarodno natjecanje iz engleskog jezika koje ove godine slavi desetu obljetnicu. Ovo natjecanje za osnovne i srednje škole provodi se u sedam kategorija (Little Hippo, Hippo 1 do Hippo 5 te Hippo S10, Hippo S15 i Hippo S19) i četiri razine (izlučni krug, državna razina, međunarodno polufinale i finale u Rimu).

Mentorica Šimunović je naglasila kako je izvrsno što djeca imaju prilike pokazati svoje znanje na ovakvoj razini i da je ovaj rezultat značajan s obzirom da se prvi put u 10 godina netko iz Dubrovnika uopće prijavio na olimpijadu. Razgovarali su i o činjenici kako je američki sustav obrazovanja posve drugačiji od hrvatskog.

- Mi vrlo često podcjenjujmo naš obrazovni sustav koji je kompliciran i težak, ali je uspješan u implementaciji. Turisti uvijek ističu da u Hrvatskoj uvijek mogu pronaći ljude koji vrlo dobro razumiju i pričaju engleski jezik, a mislim da je upravo za to zaslužan naš obrazovni sustav – rekao je gradonačelnik Franković. Šimunović je u toj prigodi poručila kako je Hrvatska treća u svijetu po znanju engleskog jezika, dodavši da se najviše djece iz Hrvatske prijavljuje na ovo natjecanje i da ih je ove godine bilo 1900.     

Ravnateljica Vujica je rekla kako je Romanin rezultat već potaknuo druge škole da se prijave iduće godine na natjecanje čime je njihovo zadovoljstvo uspjehom još veći, dok je mentorica Šimunović istaknula da je cilj Osnovne škole Montovjerna za sljedeću godinu direktan plasman u finale koje se održava u Rimu. 

Gradonačelnik je za kraj poručio Romani da nastavi biti dobra, snalažljiva, pametna i brza, što je već i pokazala.

Povodom osvajanja drugog mjesta na međunarodnoj jezičnoj olimpijadi, gradonačelnik Mato Franković primio je danas Romanu Delić, učenicu petog razreda Osnovne škole Montovjerna. Prijemu su nazočili i ravnateljica Osnovne škole Montovjerna, Lucija Vujica te Romanina mentorica Ana Šimunović.

Hippo English Language Olympiad je međunarodno natjecanje iz engleskog jezika koje ove godine slavi desetu obljetnicu. Ovo natjecanje za osnovne i srednje škole provodi se u sedam kategorija (Little Hippo, Hippo 1 do Hippo 5 te Hippo S10, Hippo S15 i Hippo S19) i četiri razine (izlučni krug, državna razina, međunarodno polufinale i finale u Rimu).

Mentorica Šimunović je naglasila kako je izvrsno što djeca imaju prilike pokazati svoje znanje na ovakvoj razini i da je ovaj rezultat značajan s obzirom da se prvi put u 10 godina netko iz Dubrovnika uopće prijavio na olimpijadu. Razgovarali su i o činjenici kako je američki sustav obrazovanja posve drugačiji od hrvatskog.

- Mi vrlo često podcjenjujmo naš obrazovni sustav koji je kompliciran i težak, ali je uspješan u implementaciji. Turisti uvijek ističu da u Hrvatskoj uvijek mogu pronaći ljude koji vrlo dobro razumiju i pričaju engleski jezik, a mislim da je upravo za to zaslužan naš obrazovni sustav – rekao je gradonačelnik Franković. Šimunović je u toj prigodi poručila kako je Hrvatska treća u svijetu po znanju engleskog jezika, dodavši da se najviše djece iz Hrvatske prijavljuje na ovo natjecanje i da ih je ove godine bilo 1900.     

Ravnateljica Vujica je rekla kako je Romanin rezultat već potaknuo druge škole da se prijave iduće godine na natjecanje čime je njihovo zadovoljstvo uspjehom još veći, dok je mentorica Šimunović istaknula da je cilj Osnovne škole Montovjerna za sljedeću godinu direktan plasman u finale koje se održava u Rimu. 

Gradonačelnik je za kraj poručio Romani da nastavi biti dobra, snalažljiva, pametna i brza, što je već i pokazala.

Povodom osvajanja drugog mjesta na međunarodnoj jezičnoj olimpijadi, gradonačelnik Mato Franković primio je danas Romanu Delić, učenicu petog razreda Osnovne škole Montovjerna. Prijemu su nazočili i ravnateljica Osnovne škole Montovjerna, Lucija Vujica te Romanina mentorica Ana Šimunović.

Hippo English Language Olympiad je međunarodno natjecanje iz engleskog jezika koje ove godine slavi desetu obljetnicu. Ovo natjecanje za osnovne i srednje škole provodi se u sedam kategorija (Little Hippo, Hippo 1 do Hippo 5 te Hippo S10, Hippo S15 i Hippo S19) i četiri razine (izlučni krug, državna razina, međunarodno polufinale i finale u Rimu).

Mentorica Šimunović je naglasila kako je izvrsno što djeca imaju prilike pokazati svoje znanje na ovakvoj razini i da je ovaj rezultat značajan s obzirom da se prvi put u 10 godina netko iz Dubrovnika uopće prijavio na olimpijadu. Razgovarali su i o činjenici kako je američki sustav obrazovanja posve drugačiji od hrvatskog.

- Mi vrlo često podcjenjujmo naš obrazovni sustav koji je kompliciran i težak, ali je uspješan u implementaciji. Turisti uvijek ističu da u Hrvatskoj uvijek mogu pronaći ljude koji vrlo dobro razumiju i pričaju engleski jezik, a mislim da je upravo za to zaslužan naš obrazovni sustav – rekao je gradonačelnik Franković.
