Tajfun Rai, najrazorniji tajfun koji je ove godine zahvatio Filipine, usmrtio je najmanje 375 ljudi i poharao čitave regije, gdje su stanovnici u ponedjeljak ostali bez pitke vode i bez hrane.

Filipinski ogranak Crvenoga križa izvijestio je o "potpunom uništenju" priobalnih područja nakon prolaska tajfuna.

Oluja je nosila krovove, čupala drveće, rušila električne stupove i drvene kuće te potapala sela.

"Očajni smo", žali se Ferry Asuncion, ulični prodavač u Surigau koji je teško stradao. Ljudima trebaju "pitka voda i hrana".

Najmanje je 375 ljudi izgubilo život, više od 500 je ozlijeđeno a 56 se vode kao nestali pošto je Rai protutnjao jugom i središtem arhipelaga, priopćila je nacionalna policija.

U četvrtak je više od 380.000 ljudi moralo napustiti svoj dom kada je tajfun stigao na kopno u središtu zemlje.

Oluja podsjeća na "super tajfun" Haiyan koji je 2013. pogodio otočje. U tom ciklonu, najgorem u povijesti ove zemlje, poginulo je i nestalo više od 7.300 ljudi.

Rai je pogodio Filipine nešto kasnije jer sezona ciklona obično traje od srpnja do listopada.

Zemlja ima sustav upravljanja katastrofama koji upozorava na približavanje oluje, što omogućuje stanovnicima se sklone prije nego ciklon stigne na obalu.

Ovaj je novi tajfun snažno pogodio turistički sektor koji se već teško oporavlja od pandemije covida-19.

Među najteže stradalim područjima je Bohol, poznat po sićušnim majmunima, gdje su poginule najmanje 94 osobe, rekao je guverner pokrajine Arthur Yap.

Velika razaranja dogodila su se na otocima Siargau, Dinagatu i Mindanau, koji su najgore prošli u četvrtak kada je vjetar puhao brzinom 195 km/h.

"Nemamo više vode, trpimo nestašicu, a već prvog dana u našoj četvrti su se dogodile pljačke", rekla je Marja O'Donnell, vlasnica hotelskog kompleksa na Siargau, za CNN Filipini.

Promet je u nekim dijelovima stradalog područja u prekidu, što otežava dolazak spasilaca na teren i procjenu štete.

I opskrba električnom energijom je prekinuta, pa ne rade stanice za dopremu vode i automatski distributeri karata.

Raspoređene su tisuće vojnika, redarstvenika, obalnih stražara i vatrogasaca a obalna straža doprema hranu, vodu i medicinske potrepštine. Šalje se i oprema za raščišćavanje prometnica zakrčenih električnim stupovima i drvećem. 

Predsjednik Rodrigo Duterte je u subotu obišao neka stradala područja i obećao pomoć vrijednu 35 milijuna eura.

Filipini su veoma izloženi klimatskim promjenama i svake godine ih pogodi gotovo 20 tropskih oluja i tajfuna koji uglavnom unište usjeve, kuće i infrastrukturu u ionako siromašnom kraju.

Tajfun Rai, najrazorniji tajfun koji je ove godine zahvatio Filipine, usmrtio je najmanje 375 ljudi i poharao čitave regije, gdje su stanovnici u ponedjeljak ostali bez pitke vode i bez hrane.

Filipinski ogranak Crvenoga križa izvijestio je o "potpunom uništenju" priobalnih područja nakon prolaska tajfuna.

Oluja je nosila krovove, čupala drveće, rušila električne stupove i drvene kuće te potapala sela.

"Očajni smo", žali se Ferry Asuncion, ulični prodavač u Surigau koji je teško stradao. Ljudima trebaju "pitka voda i hrana".

Najmanje je 375 ljudi izgubilo život, više od 500 je ozlijeđeno a 56 se vode kao nestali pošto je Rai protutnjao jugom i središtem arhipelaga, priopćila je nacionalna policija.

U četvrtak je više od 380.000 ljudi moralo napustiti svoj dom kada je tajfun stigao na kopno u središtu zemlje.

Oluja podsjeća na "super tajfun" Haiyan koji je 2013. pogodio otočje. U tom ciklonu, najgorem u povijesti ove zemlje, poginulo je i nestalo više od 7.300 ljudi.

Rai je pogodio Filipine nešto kasnije jer sezona ciklona obično traje od srpnja do listopada.

Zemlja ima sustav upravljanja katastrofama koji upozorava na približavanje oluje, što omogućuje stanovnicima se sklone prije nego ciklon stigne na obalu.

Ovaj je novi tajfun snažno pogodio turistički sektor koji se već teško oporavlja od pandemije covida-19.

Među najteže stradalim područjima je Bohol, poznat po sićušnim majmunima, gdje su poginule najmanje 94 osobe, rekao je guverner pokrajine Arthur Yap.

Velika razaranja dogodila su se na otocima Siargau, Dinagatu i Mindanau, koji su najgore prošli u četvrtak kada je vjetar puhao brzinom 195 km/h.

"Nemamo više vode, trpimo nestašicu, a već prvog dana u našoj četvrti su se dogodile pljačke", rekla je Marja O'Donnell, vlasnica hotelskog kompleksa na Siargau, za CNN Filipini.

Promet je u nekim dijelovima stradalog područja u prekidu, što otežava dolazak spasilaca na teren i procjenu štete.

I opskrba električnom energijom je prekinuta, pa ne rade stanice za dopremu vode i automatski distributeri karata.

Raspoređene su tisuće vojnika, redarstvenika, obalnih stražara i vatrogasaca a obalna straža doprema hranu, vodu i medicinske potrepštine. Šalje se i oprema za raščišćavanje prometnica zakrčenih električnim stupovima i drvećem. 

Predsjednik Rodrigo Duterte je u subotu obišao neka stradala područja i obećao pomoć vrijednu 35 milijuna eura.

Filipini su veoma izloženi klimatskim promjenama i svake godine ih pogodi gotovo 20 tropskih oluja i tajfuna koji uglavnom unište usjeve, kuće i infrastrukturu u ionako siromašnom kraju.

Raspoređene su tisuće vojnika, redarstvenika, obalnih stražara i vatrogasaca a obalna straža doprema hranu, vodu i medicinske potrepštine. Šalje se i oprema za raščišćavanje prometnica zakrčenih električnim stupovima i drvećem. 

Predsjednik Rodrigo Duterte je u subotu obišao neka stradala područja i obećao pomoć vrijednu 35 milijuna eura.

Filipini su veoma izloženi klimatskim promjenama i svake godine ih pogodi gotovo 20 tropskih oluja i tajfuna koji uglavnom unište usjeve, kuće i infrastrukturu u ionako siromašnom kraju.
