Prošli mjesec obilježeno je 35 godina od najveće nuklearne katastrofe u svijetu, eksplozije nuklearne elektrane u Černobilu, 26. travnja 1986. godine, donosi Slobodna Dalmacija.

Cijeli svijet, a Europa posebno, prisjetio se tragedije koja je dovela u pitanje životnu sigurnost i budućnost, s porukom da se takvo nešto više nikada ne smije ponoviti. Ali već tjedan poslije otvorilo se pitanje nove opasnosti koja prijeti iz Černobila.

Kako piše časopis Science, ukrajinski znanstvenici koji rade na rastavljanju ostataka nuklearnog reaktora otkrili su neuobičajeno visoke koncentracije emitiranih neutrona. Da stvar bude gora, riječ je o rastućim vrijednostima.

Senzori prate sve veći broj neutrona, signal fisije, to jest radioaktivnog raspada čestica, koji struji iz jedne nepristupačne prostorije, rekao je Anatolij Dorošenko iz Instituta za sigurnosne probleme nuklearnih elektrana u Kijevu.

- Ne možemo isključiti mogućnost nezgode. Broj neutrona polako raste, potvrdio je Maksim Saveliev iz istoga instituta.

Sumnja se da negdje u ruševinama i dalje postoji određena količina urana, nekadašnjeg goriva elektrane, koji i dalje tinja.

"Kao žar u ugašenom roštilju", slikovito je opisao situaciju Neil Hyatt, nuklearni kemičar sa sveučilišta u Sheffieldu, koji također budno prati situaciju.

Problem raspada nuklearnih čestica muči ruske, odnosno ukrajinske inženjere od same nuklearne katastrofe. U studenome 2016. godine preko centrale postavljen je 1,5 milijardu eura vrijedan "sarkofag", da bi se stabilizirali uvjeti i zaustavile moguće reakcije. Unatoč tome, od tada je redovito mjereno dvostruko veće zračenje nego prije. Pretpostavlja se da se to događa zbog sušenja nuklearnog goriva do kojega zbog "sarkofaga" ne može doprijeti kiša.

Nemoguće je i prskanje nuklearnih ostataka Gadolinijevim nitratom jer su zatrpani betonom. Postoji i ideja o razvijanju robota koji bi mogao podnijeti intenzivno zračenje dovoljno dugo da probije oklop. Onima koji se brinu o Černobilu problem je i radioaktivna prašina koja otežava demontažu skloništa.

Stručnjaci se slažu da ne postoji šansa za ponavljanje 1986. godine, kada se od černobilske eksplozije i požara nad cijelom Europom nadvio radioaktivni oblak. Uz pomoć Europske banke za obnovu i razvoj, Ukrajina do rujna želi dovršiti plan demontaže.

- Bilo koji lijek koji smisle bit će od velikog interesa za Japan, koji se nosi s posljedicama vlastite nuklearne katastrofe prije 10 godina u Fukušimi. To je slična veličina opasnosti, napominje Hyatt.

Jer oko černobilskog slučaja je puno nepoznanica i ne može se isključiti eventualna nesreća. Ipak, broj neutrona raste polako, pa se vjerojatno ništa neće dogoditi još nekoliko godina. Znanstvenici razmatraju mogućnost i da se nuklearni proces sam zaustavi, kao i mogućnost hitne intervencije. Stvar je itekako ozbiljna, donosi Slobodna Dalmacija.

Prošli mjesec obilježeno je 35 godina od najveće nuklearne katastrofe u svijetu, eksplozije nuklearne elektrane u Černobilu, 26. travnja 1986. godine, donosi Slobodna Dalmacija.

Cijeli svijet, a Europa posebno, prisjetio se tragedije koja je dovela u pitanje životnu sigurnost i budućnost, s porukom da se takvo nešto više nikada ne smije ponoviti. Ali već tjedan poslije otvorilo se pitanje nove opasnosti koja prijeti iz Černobila.

Kako piše časopis Science, ukrajinski znanstvenici koji rade na rastavljanju ostataka nuklearnog reaktora otkrili su neuobičajeno visoke koncentracije emitiranih neutrona. Da stvar bude gora, riječ je o rastućim vrijednostima.

Senzori prate sve veći broj neutrona, signal fisije, to jest radioaktivnog raspada čestica, koji struji iz jedne nepristupačne prostorije, rekao je Anatolij Dorošenko iz Instituta za sigurnosne probleme nuklearnih elektrana u Kijevu.

- Ne možemo isključiti mogućnost nezgode. Broj neutrona polako raste, potvrdio je Maksim Saveliev iz istoga instituta.

Sumnja se da negdje u ruševinama i dalje postoji određena količina urana, nekadašnjeg goriva elektrane, koji i dalje tinja.

"Kao žar u ugašenom roštilju", slikovito je opisao situaciju Neil Hyatt, nuklearni kemičar sa sveučilišta u Sheffieldu, koji također budno prati situaciju.

Problem raspada nuklearnih čestica muči ruske, odnosno ukrajinske inženjere od same nuklearne katastrofe. U studenome 2016. godine preko centrale postavljen je 1,5 milijardu eura vrijedan "sarkofag", da bi se stabilizirali uvjeti i zaustavile moguće reakcije. Unatoč tome, od tada je redovito mjereno dvostruko veće zračenje nego prije. Pretpostavlja se da se to događa zbog sušenja nuklearnog goriva do kojega zbog "sarkofaga" ne može doprijeti kiša.

Nemoguće je i prskanje nuklearnih ostataka Gadolinijevim nitratom jer su zatrpani betonom. Postoji i ideja o razvijanju robota koji bi mogao podnijeti intenzivno zračenje dovoljno dugo da probije oklop. Onima koji se brinu o Černobilu problem je i radioaktivna prašina koja otežava demontažu skloništa.

Stručnjaci se slažu da ne postoji šansa za ponavljanje 1986. godine, kada se od černobilske eksplozije i požara nad cijelom Europom nadvio radioaktivni oblak. Uz pomoć Europske banke za obnovu i razvoj, Ukrajina do rujna želi dovršiti plan demontaže.

- Bilo koji lijek koji smisle bit će od velikog interesa za Japan, koji se nosi s posljedicama vlastite nuklearne katastrofe prije 10 godina u Fukušimi. To je slična veličina opasnosti, napominje Hyatt.

Jer oko černobilskog slučaja je puno nepoznanica i ne može se isključiti eventualna nesreća. Ipak, broj neutrona raste polako, pa se vjerojatno ništa neće dogoditi još nekoliko godina. Znanstvenici razmatraju mogućnost i da se nuklearni proces sam zaustavi, kao i mogućnost hitne intervencije. Stvar je itekako ozbiljna, donosi Slobodna Dalmacija.

Od nuklearne katastrofe prošlo je 35 godina, a elektrana u Černobilu i dalje prijeti!

Prošli mjesec obilježeno je 35 godina od najveće nuklearne katastrofe u svijetu, eksplozije nuklearne elektrane u Černobilu, 26. travnja 1986. godine, donosi Slobodna Dalmacija.

Cijeli svijet, a Europa posebno, prisjetio se tragedije koja je dovela u pitanje životnu sigurnost i budućnost, s porukom da se takvo nešto više nikada ne smije ponoviti. Ali već tjedan poslije otvorilo se pitanje nove opasnosti koja prijeti iz Černobila.

Kako piše časopis Science, ukrajinski znanstvenici koji rade na rastavljanju ostataka nuklearnog reaktora otkrili su neuobičajeno visoke koncentracije emitiranih neutrona. Da stvar bude gora, riječ je o rastućim vrijednostima.

Senzori prate sve veći broj neutrona, signal fisije, to jest radioaktivnog raspada čestica, koji struji iz jedne nepristupačne prostorije, rekao je Anatolij Dorošenko iz Instituta za sigurnosne probleme nuklearnih elektrana u Kijevu.

- Ne možemo isključiti mogućnost nezgode. Broj neutrona polako raste, potvrdio je Maksim Saveliev iz istoga instituta.

Sumnja se da negdje u ruševinama i dalje postoji određena količina urana, nekadašnjeg goriva elektrane, koji i dalje tinja.

"Kao žar u ugašenom roštilju", slikovito je opisao situaciju Neil Hyatt, nuklearni kemičar sa sveučilišta u Sheffieldu, koji također budno prati situaciju.

Problem raspada nuklearnih čestica muči ruske, odnosno ukrajinske inženjere od same nuklearne katastrofe. U studenome 2016. godine preko centrale postavljen je 1,5 milijardu eura vrijedan "sarkofag", da bi se stabilizirali uvjeti i zaustavile moguće reakcije. Unatoč tome, od tada je redovito mjereno dvostruko veće zračenje nego prije. Pretpostavlja se da se to događa zbog sušenja nuklearnog goriva do kojega zbog "sarkofaga" ne može doprijeti kiša.

Nemoguće je i prskanje nuklearnih ostataka Gadolinijevim nitratom jer su zatrpani betonom. Postoji i ideja o razvijanju robota koji bi mogao podnijeti intenzivno zračenje dovoljno dugo da probije oklop. Onima koji se brinu o Černobilu problem je i radioaktivna prašina koja otežava demontažu skloništa.

Stručnjaci se slažu da ne postoji šansa za ponavljanje 1986. godine, kada se od černobilske eksplozije i požara nad cijelom Europom nadvio radioaktivni oblak. Uz pomoć Europske banke za obnovu i razvoj, Ukrajina do rujna želi dovršiti plan demontaže.

- Bilo koji lijek koji smisle bit će od velikog interesa za Japan, koji se nosi s posljedicama vlastite nuklearne katastrofe prije 10 godina u Fukušimi. To je slična veličina opasnosti, napominje Hyatt.

Jer oko černobilskog slučaja je puno nepoznanica i ne može se isključiti eventualna nesreća. Ipak, broj neutrona raste polako, pa se vjerojatno ništa neće dogoditi još nekoliko godina. Znanstvenici razmatraju mogućnost i da se nuklearni proces sam zaustavi, kao i mogućnost hitne intervencije. Stvar je itekako ozbiljna, donosi Slobodna Dalmacija.
