Covid više nije najsmrtonosnija bolest na svijetu. Mel Spigelman, predsjednik neprofitne udruge TB Alliance medijima je poručio da je njezinu titulu ponovno preuzela tuberkuloza. Iako je ovaj stručnjak pohvalio uspješno suzbijanje pandemije koronavirusa, također se požalio na nedostatak fokusa za iskorjenjivanje zarazne i opasne tuberkuloze, prenosi Nova tv.

Naime, tuberkuloza je do pojave koronavirusa bila najubojitija bolest te je godišnje odnosila 1,5 milijuna života. Danas, na temelju godišnje stope smrtnosti, ova opaka bolest ubije 4109 ljudi dnevno, dok COVID-19 ‘odnese‘ oko 1449 pacijenata na dan, prenosi Slobodna Dalmacija.

Nažalost, zanimanje za liječenje tuberkuloze zbog pandemije se smanjilo, a narušila ga je upravo borba protiv COVID-19, koja je bolnice za tuberkulozu pretvorila u centre za karantenu i brigu o pacijentima. Rezultat tome je rast smrtnih slučajeva uzrokovanih tuberkulozom prvi put u desetljeću, od 2020. godine.

- Prešli smo s onoga što iskreno smatram nevjerojatno sporim napretkom, ali barem napretkom, do negativnog obrata. To je bio veliki neuspjeh, objasnio je razočarano Spigelman, prenosi Nova tv.

Milijarde dolara su se ulagale u borbu protiv koronavirusa, što je neke od najvećih donatora nagnalo da smanje ulaganja za liječenje tuberkuloze. 

- Jako sam zabrinut da bi napredak koji je postignut, a koji je već nagrizen COVID-om... mogao biti još više narušen, dodao je Spigelman.

Poteškoće u liječenju tuberkuloze dodatno usporavaju revoluciju u liječenju tuberkuloze otporne na lijekove. Naime, čak pet posto ljudi zaraženih ovom bolešću otporni su na antibiotike, što im otežava proces ozdravljenja.

- Sve donedavno, situacija s tuberkulozom otpornom na lijekove bila je užasna, pacijenti su bili prisiljeni uzimati pet do osam tableta dnevno, a često i dnevnu injekciju, s užasnim nuspojavama i stopom izlječenja od samo 20 do 30 posto. No novi režim lijekova BPaL, koji je prvi put odobrila američka Uprava za hranu i lijekove 2019., sastoji se od samo tri tablete dnevno tijekom šest mjeseci i ima puno manje nuspojava i stopu izlječenja od 90 posto, rekao je Spigelman i dodao da će to biti nevjerojatna pojava.

​Znanstvenik je za kraj okrivio nedostatak hitnosti za nemogućnost potpunog iskorjenjivanja tuberkuloze. Dodao je da su resursi za njeno liječenje u velikom nedostatku i da misli da bi se bolest tretirala drastično drugačije kada bi bila raširena među bogatim ljudima. On tvrdi da bi se tuberkuloza potpuno uništila kada bi joj se pridala ista pažnja kao koronavirusu.

Covid više nije najsmrtonosnija bolest na svijetu. Mel Spigelman, predsjednik neprofitne udruge TB Alliance medijima je poručio da je njezinu titulu ponovno preuzela tuberkuloza. Iako je ovaj stručnjak pohvalio uspješno suzbijanje pandemije koronavirusa, također se požalio na nedostatak fokusa za iskorjenjivanje zarazne i opasne tuberkuloze, prenosi Nova tv.

Naime, tuberkuloza je do pojave koronavirusa bila najubojitija bolest te je godišnje odnosila 1,5 milijuna života. Danas, na temelju godišnje stope smrtnosti, ova opaka bolest ubije 4109 ljudi dnevno, dok COVID-19 ‘odnese‘ oko 1449 pacijenata na dan, prenosi Slobodna Dalmacija.

Nažalost, zanimanje za liječenje tuberkuloze zbog pandemije se smanjilo, a narušila ga je upravo borba protiv COVID-19, koja je bolnice za tuberkulozu pretvorila u centre za karantenu i brigu o pacijentima. Rezultat tome je rast smrtnih slučajeva uzrokovanih tuberkulozom prvi put u desetljeću, od 2020. godine.

- Prešli smo s onoga što iskreno smatram nevjerojatno sporim napretkom, ali barem napretkom, do negativnog obrata. To je bio veliki neuspjeh, objasnio je razočarano Spigelman, prenosi Nova tv.

Milijarde dolara su se ulagale u borbu protiv koronavirusa, što je neke od najvećih donatora nagnalo da smanje ulaganja za liječenje tuberkuloze. 

- Jako sam zabrinut da bi napredak koji je postignut, a koji je već nagrizen COVID-om... mogao biti još više narušen, dodao je Spigelman.

Poteškoće u liječenju tuberkuloze dodatno usporavaju revoluciju u liječenju tuberkuloze otporne na lijekove. Naime, čak pet posto ljudi zaraženih ovom bolešću otporni su na antibiotike, što im otežava proces ozdravljenja.

- Sve donedavno, situacija s tuberkulozom otpornom na lijekove bila je užasna, pacijenti su bili prisiljeni uzimati pet do osam tableta dnevno, a često i dnevnu injekciju, s užasnim nuspojavama i stopom izlječenja od samo 20 do 30 posto. No novi režim lijekova BPaL, koji je prvi put odobrila američka Uprava za hranu i lijekove 2019., sastoji se od samo tri tablete dnevno tijekom šest mjeseci i ima puno manje nuspojava i stopu izlječenja od 90 posto, rekao je Spigelman i dodao da će to biti nevjerojatna pojava.

​Znanstvenik je za kraj okrivio nedostatak hitnosti za nemogućnost potpunog iskorjenjivanja tuberkuloze. Dodao je da su resursi za njeno liječenje u velikom nedostatku i da misli da bi se bolest tretirala drastično drugačije kada bi bila raširena među bogatim ljudima. On tvrdi da bi se tuberkuloza potpuno uništila kada bi joj se pridala ista pažnja kao koronavirusu.

Covid više nije najsmrtonosnija bolest na svijetu. Mel Spigelman, predsjednik neprofitne udruge TB Alliance medijima je poručio da je njezinu titulu ponovno preuzela tuberkuloza. Iako je ovaj stručnjak pohvalio uspješno suzbijanje pandemije koronavirusa, također se požalio na nedostatak fokusa za iskorjenjivanje zarazne i opasne tuberkuloze, prenosi Nova tv.

Naime, tuberkuloza je do pojave koronavirusa bila najubojitija bolest te je godišnje odnosila 1,5 milijuna života. Danas, na temelju godišnje stope smrtnosti, ova opaka bolest ubije 4109 ljudi dnevno, dok COVID-19 ‘odnese‘ oko 1449 pacijenata na dan, prenosi Slobodna Dalmacija.

Nažalost, zanimanje za liječenje tuberkuloze zbog pandemije se smanjilo, a narušila ga je upravo borba protiv COVID-19, koja je bolnice za tuberkulozu pretvorila u centre za karantenu i brigu o pacijentima. Rezultat tome je rast smrtnih slučajeva uzrokovanih tuberkulozom prvi put u desetljeću, od 2020. godine.

- Prešli smo s onoga što iskreno smatram nevjerojatno sporim napretkom, ali barem napretkom, do negativnog obrata. To je bio veliki neuspjeh, objasnio je razočarano Spigelman, prenosi Nova tv.

Milijarde dolara su se ulagale u borbu protiv koronavirusa, što je neke od najvećih donatora nagnalo da smanje ulaganja za liječenje tuberkuloze. 

- Jako sam zabrinut da bi napredak koji je postignut, a koji je već nagrizen COVID-om... mogao biti još više narušen, dodao je Spigelman.

Poteškoće u liječenju tuberkuloze dodatno usporavaju revoluciju u liječenju tuberkuloze otporne na lijekove. Naime, čak pet posto ljudi zaraženih ovom bolešću otporni su na antibiotike, što im otežava proces ozdravljenja.
