Godina bez akcijskog trilera u kojem Liam Neeson glumi tankoćutnog pokajnika, zaštitnika slabijih i profesionalca mutne prošlosti bila bi nepovratno izgubljena. Ova prijestupna, na sreću ljubitelja opusa irskog glumačkog veterana, nije takva. Naprotiv, već u prvim tjednima 2024. Neeson nas je počastio novim uratkom iz svog vazdazelenog serijala o plemenitim gubitnicima, i još mu dodao patinu prošlosti.

Umjesto sivih američkih megalopolisa danas, radnja novog filma ‘U zemlji svetaca i grešnika‘(In the land of saints and sinners) preseljena u turobnu Irsku 1970-tih: puk terorizira IRA, a od bombaških i inih napada ga štiti dobri domaćin Finbar Murphy (Liam Neeson).

Glavni glumac za ovu je prigodu obnovio suradnju s redateljem Robertom Lorenzom s kojim je ne tako davne 2021. godine snimio ‘Strijelca‘. Ambijent je bio skroz drugačiji, priča o usamljenom izbavitelju nedužnih odigravala se u vrelini američko-meksičke granice i samo potvrdila da presudno za Neesonove filmove nije mjesto radnje, već prepoznatljiv profil i nastup ključnog aktera.

U tom pogledu nema razlike između pustinje u Arizoni i pomalo zlokobnih irskih klifova. Sve geografske granice nadilazi misija glavnog junaka kojemu nikad ne uspijeva miran život u osami, pa tako ni sad. Neeson i ovaj zadatak odrađuje s lakoćom. Premda se više nego dosad na ekranu kod njega otkrivaju tragovi vremena (prevalio je sedamdesetu), ne nedostaje mu kondicije, ni fizičke ni zanatske. U profesionalnom smislu svakako mu olakšava repetitivnost uloge uloga koja ne traži bogzna kakvu nadogradnju ni finese. Vješto rukovanje oružjem, zamišljeno lice, stav vuka samotnjaka prepoznatljiva su odlika svih Liamovih filmskih aliasa.

A dok god je glavni lik tvrdokorno nepromjenjiv, razlike treba tražiti kod ostatka postave. ‘U zemlji svetaca i grešnika‘ odmak je već i to da Neesona ovaj put ne zaskoče mačističke bande i plaćenici, već izdvojena dama, antagonistica imenom Doireann McCann. Operativku IRA-e dosta sugestivno glumi Irkinja Kerry Condon, inače najmlađa Ofelija ikad u Royal Shakespeare Company.

Ovdje od gracilnosti Hamletove drage nema ništa, McCann je stroj za ubijanje kojemu scenaristički manjka dubine. Žal za bratom i nevinim žrtvama nedovoljno je kod nje iskorištena kao pokretač akcije. Loše je razrađen i junakinjin odnos s dvojicom bliskih suradnika terorista kojima šefuje kao da su maloumnici, a ne uvježbani asasini. Bolje je trebalo upregnuti i ‘gosta‘ iz Igre prijestolja Jacka Gleesona, kojega i Dubrovčani pamte sa zidina i iz parka Gradac, po ulozi zlog princa Joffreya Baratheona.

Gleeson je ovdje fizički neprepoznatljiv, no glumački se svakako izdvaja iz gomile i dobro parira Neesonu kao mladi sanjar fatalist. Rolicu pronicljivog mjesnog čuvara reda Vinnieja iznosi glumac starosjedilac Ciaran Hinds, suzdržano uronjen u okolnosti za koje ovaj film slabo mari.

Gledatelj ne doznaje baš ništa o višeznačnosti i danas živih tenzija između irskih katolika i protestanata, ni o tada aktualnom Bloody Sundayu koji je opjevao U2. No, to valjda nije u fokusu trilera kojemu je ključni cilj produljiti Neesonove reinkarnacije.

U očekivanju sljedeće u nizu, ovoj plus treba upisati zbog - ekološke komponente. Način na koji Finbar Murphy pošumljava irske goleti uistinu je originalan, parirati mu mogu samo zračni snimci zadivljujućih zelenih krajolika zemlje svetog Patrika.

Godina bez akcijskog trilera u kojem Liam Neeson glumi tankoćutnog pokajnika, zaštitnika slabijih i profesionalca mutne prošlosti bila bi nepovratno izgubljena. Ova prijestupna, na sreću ljubitelja opusa irskog glumačkog veterana, nije takva. Naprotiv, već u prvim tjednima 2024. Neeson nas je počastio novim uratkom iz svog vazdazelenog serijala o plemenitim gubitnicima, i još mu dodao patinu prošlosti.

Umjesto sivih američkih megalopolisa danas, radnja novog filma ‘U zemlji svetaca i grešnika‘(In the land of saints and sinners) preseljena u turobnu Irsku 1970-tih: puk terorizira IRA, a od bombaških i inih napada ga štiti dobri domaćin Finbar Murphy (Liam Neeson).

Glavni glumac za ovu je prigodu obnovio suradnju s redateljem Robertom Lorenzom s kojim je ne tako davne 2021. godine snimio ‘Strijelca‘. Ambijent je bio skroz drugačiji, priča o usamljenom izbavitelju nedužnih odigravala se u vrelini američko-meksičke granice i samo potvrdila da presudno za Neesonove filmove nije mjesto radnje, već prepoznatljiv profil i nastup ključnog aktera.

U tom pogledu nema razlike između pustinje u Arizoni i pomalo zlokobnih irskih klifova. Sve geografske granice nadilazi misija glavnog junaka kojemu nikad ne uspijeva miran život u osami, pa tako ni sad. Neeson i ovaj zadatak odrađuje s lakoćom. Premda se više nego dosad na ekranu kod njega otkrivaju tragovi vremena (prevalio je sedamdesetu), ne nedostaje mu kondicije, ni fizičke ni zanatske. U profesionalnom smislu svakako mu olakšava repetitivnost uloge uloga koja ne traži bogzna kakvu nadogradnju ni finese. Vješto rukovanje oružjem, zamišljeno lice, stav vuka samotnjaka prepoznatljiva su odlika svih Liamovih filmskih aliasa.

A dok god je glavni lik tvrdokorno nepromjenjiv, razlike treba tražiti kod ostatka postave. ‘U zemlji svetaca i grešnika‘ odmak je već i to da Neesona ovaj put ne zaskoče mačističke bande i plaćenici, već izdvojena dama, antagonistica imenom Doireann McCann. Operativku IRA-e dosta sugestivno glumi Irkinja Kerry Condon, inače najmlađa Ofelija ikad u Royal Shakespeare Company.

Ovdje od gracilnosti Hamletove drage nema ništa, McCann je stroj za ubijanje kojemu scenaristički manjka dubine. Žal za bratom i nevinim žrtvama nedovoljno je kod nje iskorištena kao pokretač akcije. Loše je razrađen i junakinjin odnos s dvojicom bliskih suradnika terorista kojima šefuje kao da su maloumnici, a ne uvježbani asasini. Bolje je trebalo upregnuti i ‘gosta‘ iz Igre prijestolja Jacka Gleesona, kojega i Dubrovčani pamte sa zidina i iz parka Gradac, po ulozi zlog princa Joffreya Baratheona.

Gleeson je ovdje fizički neprepoznatljiv, no glumački se svakako izdvaja iz gomile i dobro parira Neesonu kao mladi sanjar fatalist. Rolicu pronicljivog mjesnog čuvara reda Vinnieja iznosi glumac starosjedilac Ciaran Hinds, suzdržano uronjen u okolnosti za koje ovaj film slabo mari.

Gledatelj ne doznaje baš ništa o višeznačnosti i danas živih tenzija između irskih katolika i protestanata, ni o tada aktualnom Bloody Sundayu koji je opjevao U2. No, to valjda nije u fokusu trilera kojemu je ključni cilj produljiti Neesonove reinkarnacije.

U očekivanju sljedeće u nizu, ovoj plus treba upisati zbog - ekološke komponente. Način na koji Finbar Murphy pošumljava irske goleti uistinu je originalan, parirati mu mogu samo zračni snimci zadivljujućih zelenih krajolika zemlje svetog Patrika.
