"Bridgerton" je i službeno dosad najuspješnija Netflixova serija. Prema statistikama, vrtoglava brojka od čak 82 milijuna kućanstava, što je otprilike broj stanovnika Njemačke, pratilo je tu povijesnu ljubavnu romansu, čiji su glavni glumci mlada 25-godišnja britanska glumica Phoebe Dynevor i njen pet godina stariji kolega zimbabvejskog porijekla Regé-Jean Page, kao Daphne Bridgerton, najsjajnija londonska debitantica i Simon Basset, vojvoda od Hastingsa te najpoželjniji londonski neženja, stvorili su napetost i romansu kakvu publika nije imala prilike vidjeti još od gospodina Darcyja i Elizabeth Bennet, odnosno Colina Firtha i Jennifer Ehle, u ekranizaciji hita Jane Austen, „Ponos i predrasude”.

Uz atraktivne glumce, ovaj tematski recept koji garantira uspjeh prepoznala je slavna producentica Shonda Rhimes, ista ona koja stoji iza „Uvoda u anatomiju”. Autor serije je Chris Van Dusen, a temelji se na knjigama Julie Quinn.

Netflix je ovu seriju izbacio na Božić i tako eksplozivnim uspjehom zakoračio u novu godinu. Ova drama smještena je u kompetitivni svijet londonskog visokog društva tijekom najuzbudljivije sezone u godini - kada se na dvoru predstavljaju debitantice.

I ne, ovo nije još jedna dosadna povijesna serija. Štoviše!

„Bridgerton” ima savršeno dozirane povijesne momente, ali i skandale, iako se radnja odvija prije 200 godina. Sjajnu kostimografiju i scenografiju kraljevske Britanije kroz raskoš Londona i Batha, a usto ima mnogo drame, seksa i napetosti. Zamislite „Gossip Girl” s akterima iz knjiga velike Jane Austen. Umjesto bloga s tračevima, ovdje izvjesna Lady Whistledown, čiji se identitet pokušava otkriti kroz cijelu seriju, piše pamflet recenzirajući sva događanja i iznoseći prljavi veš londonske elite, a njene riječi čujemo kroz ljupki i prepoznatljivi glas glumačke legende Julie Andrews.

Serija kojoj je tema londonska elita 19. stoljeća, osvojila je gledatelje svijeta, a govoreći o njenom nevjerojatnom uspjehu, potpredsjednica Netflixova odjela za serije Jinny Howe, rekla je kako je oduvijek voljela povijesne romanse, a činjenica da može objaviti kako je "Bridgerton" dosad najveća serija, ostvarenje je njezina sna.

Inače, ova serija je nastala prema nizu romana autorice Julije Quinn koje su objavljene od 2000. do 2013., a Vulture ih je proučio pa pokušao predvidjeti što bi se, obzirom na knjige, moglo dogoditi u nadolazećoj drugoj sezoni serije. Nagađaju da bi Daphne i njezin seksi vojvoda mogli pasti u drugi plan. Iako je njihova ljubav bila temelj na kojem se gradila radnja cijele serije, u knjigama se oni pojavljuju tek s vremena na vrijeme.

No, s druge strane, malo je vjerojatno da će producenti serije zanemariti likove koji su se nametnuli kao glavni i pokazali sjajnima za gradnju radnje, ali i veliku popularnost serije.

"Bridgerton" je i službeno dosad najuspješnija Netflixova serija. Prema statistikama, vrtoglava brojka od čak 82 milijuna kućanstava, što je otprilike broj stanovnika Njemačke, pratilo je tu povijesnu ljubavnu romansu, čiji su glavni glumci mlada 25-godišnja britanska glumica Phoebe Dynevor i njen pet godina stariji kolega zimbabvejskog porijekla Regé-Jean Page, kao Daphne Bridgerton, najsjajnija londonska debitantica i Simon Basset, vojvoda od Hastingsa te najpoželjniji londonski neženja, stvorili su napetost i romansu kakvu publika nije imala prilike vidjeti još od gospodina Darcyja i Elizabeth Bennet, odnosno Colina Firtha i Jennifer Ehle, u ekranizaciji hita Jane Austen, „Ponos i predrasude”.

Inače, ova serija je nastala prema nizu romana autorice Julije Quinn koje su objavljene od 2000. do 2013., a Vulture ih je proučio pa pokušao predvidjeti što bi se, obzirom na knjige, moglo dogoditi u nadolazećoj drugoj sezoni serije. Nagađaju da bi Daphne i njezin seksi vojvoda mogli pasti u drugi plan. Iako je njihova ljubav bila temelj na kojem se gradila radnja cijele serije, u knjigama se oni pojavljuju tek s vremena na vrijeme.
