Znanstvenici su zabrinuti da bismo do proljeća iduće godine mogli imati novu varijantu koronavirusa, otpornu na cjepivo.

"Što prije primimo booster dozu cjepiva, to će nam biti bolje stanje sljedećih nekoliko mjeseci. Nažalost, svako predviđanje koje sam do sada imao se ostvarilo. Njemački znanstvenici također su već ranije upozorili da bi starija varijanta virusa, nazvana varijantom A.30, također mogla postati otporna na Pfizerova i AstraZenecina cjepiva.

Američki znanstvenik i imunolog Anthony Fauci je, prenosi Jutarnji,  u rujnu upozorio da bi mogla stići "monstruozna varijanta virusa" u usporedbi s kojom bi delta soj izgledao slabašano.

"Uvijek postoji rizik da će, što više virus bude cirkulirao u društvu, doći do novih mutacija koje će biti bitno drugačije od sadašnje varijante virusa koja je prisutna", rekao je Fauci.

Znanstvenici su zabrinuti da bismo do proljeća iduće godine mogli imati novu varijantu koronavirusa, otpornu na cjepivo.

"Što prije primimo booster dozu cjepiva, to će nam biti bolje stanje sljedećih nekoliko mjeseci. Nažalost, svako predviđanje koje sam do sada imao se ostvarilo. Nadam se da sam ovaj put u krivu, ali mislim da ćemo do ožujka, travnja ili svibnja imati varijantu virusa koja je potpuno otporna na cjepivo.

Jednostavno ne možemo imati tako nisku stopu cijepljenih u svijetu dok se virus širi poput ping-pong loptice među cijepljenima i necijepljenima. Ja sam imunolog. Vjerojatnost da ćemo uskoro imati virus otporan na cjepivo vrlo je visoka", rekao je dr. Mark Dybul, profesor sa sveučilišta u Georgetownu i imunolog, a prenio je Jutarnji..

Međutim, Dybul tvrdi i da će sigurno biti napretka u terapijama i cjepivima kako bi se zaustavilo masovno širenje te varijante virusa. Sprejevi za nos također bi mogli pomoći u njegovu zaustavljanju.

"Mislim da ćemo takve proizvode imati u sljedećih godinu i pol dana. Dugoročno će se stanje dovesti u red, ali sljedećih godinu i pol bi nam moglo biti prilično teško", dodao je stručnjak.

U listopadu je velški političar Mark Drakeford rekao da je zabrinut zbog toga što bi se uskoro mogla pojaviti nova varijanta koronavirusa otporna na cjepiva.

"Postoji mogućnost da će se ta varijanta virusa pokazati otpornijom na cjepivo od ove sadašnje varijante", rekao je tada.

Njemački znanstvenici također su već ranije upozorili da bi starija varijanta virusa, nazvana varijantom A.30, također mogla postati otporna na Pfizerova i AstraZenecina cjepiva.

Američki znanstvenik i imunolog Anthony Fauci je, prenosi Jutarnji,  u rujnu upozorio da bi mogla stići "monstruozna varijanta virusa" u usporedbi s kojom bi delta soj izgledao slabašano.

"Uvijek postoji rizik da će, što više virus bude cirkulirao u društvu, doći do novih mutacija koje će biti bitno drugačije od sadašnje varijante virusa koja je prisutna", rekao je Fauci.

Znanstvenici su zabrinuti da bismo do proljeća iduće godine mogli imati novu varijantu koronavirusa, otpornu na cjepivo.

"Što prije primimo booster dozu cjepiva, to će nam biti bolje stanje sljedećih nekoliko mjeseci. Nažalost, svako predviđanje koje sam do sada imao se ostvarilo.
