U Poljskoj raste zabrinutost zbog četverogodišnje djevojčice koja je nestala nakon što su njezine roditelje navodno gurnuli natrag u Bjelorusiju poljski graničari. Već danima aktivisti očajnički tragaju za Eileen, koja je nestala u ledenoj šumi u ponedjeljak navečer, prenosi Al Jazeera.

Nekoliko sati ranije, njezini roditelji, koji su iz Iraka, prešli su granicu pod okriljem noći sa grupom drugih migranata i izbjeglica. Bili su iscrpljeni, pa su zamolili jednog od svojih suputnika da im nosi kćer u naručju. Tada se pojavila poljska graničarska patrola i grupa se razbježala. Poljski dužnosnici su navodno prisilno deportirali Eileenine roditelje, ali od njihove kćeri nije bilo ni traga. Kad su ih policajci otpratili do ograde od bodljikave žice koja predstavlja granicu, par ih je obavijestio da je djevojčica nestala. Prema njihovom svjedočenju, redari nisu reagirali na tu vijest.

Grupa Granica, koalicija 14 nevladinih udruga koja pruža humanitarnu pomoć na prijelazima između država, čula je za ovaj slučaj preko telefonske linije za izbjeglice u nevolji. O tome su upozorili poljski Crveni križ, koji je zadužen za ponovno okupljanje razdvojenih obitelji. Ali njihovi su se pozivi pokazali uzaludnima. 'Poljski Crveni križ odgovorio je da bi roditelji trebali podnijeti zahtjev u Minsku', rekla je Marysia Zlonkiewicz, aktivistica Grupe Granica. 'Obavijestili smo i ured ombudsmana jer smo znali da će obavijestiti graničnu stražu.'

Graničari su ubrzo pokrenuli potragu, ali su svoje napore prekinuli tek nekoliko sati kasnije, bez uspjeha. 'Nijedno dijete nije pronađeno u području koje je nadzirala granična straža', objavila je poljska granična straža putem Twittera. Stanovnici su primijetili helikoptere i pojačano kretanje časnika granične straže u tom području, ali kritičari kažu da napori nisu bili dovoljni. Uznemireni Eileeninim nestankom, aktivisti i stanovnici organizirali su vlastite potrage - na temperaturama koje su pale na čak -15 Celzijusa. No, budući da je granično područje i dalje van dosega za ljude koji tamo ne žive, uključujući novinare i nevladine organizacije, šanse da se djevojčica nađe živa padaju iz sata u sat.

'To je nehumano. Dijete je nestalo, temperatura je ekstremno niska i ljudima koji su spremni tražiti Eileen nije dopušteno djelovati na području gdje se ona najvjerojatnije može naći', rekla je Zlonkiewicz. 'Roditelji su shrvani i samo žele pronaći svoju kćer. Otkako je kriza na poljsko-bjeloruskoj granici počela u kolovozu, tisuće migranata i izbjeglica lutaju poljskim šumama s malo ili nimalo pristupa čistoj vodi, hrani i skloništu. Poljska i njezini zapadni saveznici smatraju Bjelorusiju odgovornom za pogoršanje situacije, tvrdeći da Minsk pokušava destabilizirati Europu. Ranije ove godine, Bjelorusija je ukinula vize za građane nekoliko bliskoistočnih i afričkih država i otvorila brojne turističke agencije koje nude jednostavan i jeftin način dolaska u Europu. Kritičari kažu da bi taj potez mogao biti bjeloruski čin osvete Poljskoj, koja je podržala prošlogodišnje prosvjede protiv dugogodišnjeg predsjednika Aleksandra Lukašenka.

U Poljskoj raste zabrinutost zbog četverogodišnje djevojčice koja je nestala nakon što su njezine roditelje navodno gurnuli natrag u Bjelorusiju poljski graničari. Već danima aktivisti očajnički tragaju za Eileen, koja je nestala u ledenoj šumi u ponedjeljak navečer, prenosi Al Jazeera.

Nekoliko sati ranije, njezini roditelji, koji su iz Iraka, prešli su granicu pod okriljem noći sa grupom drugih migranata i izbjeglica. Bili su iscrpljeni, pa su zamolili jednog od svojih suputnika da im nosi kćer u naručju. Tada se pojavila poljska graničarska patrola i grupa se razbježala. Poljski dužnosnici su navodno prisilno deportirali Eileenine roditelje, ali od njihove kćeri nije bilo ni traga. Kad su ih policajci otpratili do ograde od bodljikave žice koja predstavlja granicu, par ih je obavijestio da je djevojčica nestala. Prema njihovom svjedočenju, redari nisu reagirali na tu vijest.

Grupa Granica, koalicija 14 nevladinih udruga koja pruža humanitarnu pomoć na prijelazima između država, čula je za ovaj slučaj preko telefonske linije za izbjeglice u nevolji. O tome su upozorili poljski Crveni križ, koji je zadužen za ponovno okupljanje razdvojenih obitelji. Ali njihovi su se pozivi pokazali uzaludnima. 'Poljski Crveni križ odgovorio je da bi roditelji trebali podnijeti zahtjev u Minsku', rekla je Marysia Zlonkiewicz, aktivistica Grupe Granica. 'Obavijestili smo i ured ombudsmana jer smo znali da će obavijestiti graničnu stražu.'

Graničari su ubrzo pokrenuli potragu, ali su svoje napore prekinuli tek nekoliko sati kasnije, bez uspjeha. 'Nijedno dijete nije pronađeno u području koje je nadzirala granična straža', objavila je poljska granična straža putem Twittera. 'Tijekom noći, granica, a posebno dionice na kojima su zabilježeni pokušaji ilegalnih prijelaza, patrolirani su i na zemlji i iz zraka korištenjem tehnologije noćnog i termalnog vida.'

Stanovnici su primijetili helikoptere i pojačano kretanje časnika granične straže u tom području, ali kritičari kažu da napori nisu bili dovoljni. Uznemireni Eileeninim nestankom, aktivisti i stanovnici organizirali su vlastite potrage - na temperaturama koje su pale na čak -15 Celzijusa. No, budući da je granično područje i dalje van dosega za ljude koji tamo ne žive, uključujući novinare i nevladine organizacije, šanse da se djevojčica nađe živa padaju iz sata u sat.

'To je nehumano. Dijete je nestalo, temperatura je ekstremno niska i ljudima koji su spremni tražiti Eileen nije dopušteno djelovati na području gdje se ona najvjerojatnije može naći', rekla je Zlonkiewicz. 'Roditelji su shrvani i samo žele pronaći svoju kćer. Vlasti bi odmah trebale započeti profesionalnu potragu. Ova situacija samo pokazuje koliko su intervencije volontera i nevladinih organizacija potrebne. Mi smo tu da upotpunima nedostatne državne akcije. To je sada, kada je život djeteta u pitanju.'

Otkako je kriza na poljsko-bjeloruskoj granici počela u kolovozu, tisuće migranata i izbjeglica lutaju poljskim šumama s malo ili nimalo pristupa čistoj vodi, hrani i skloništu. Poljska i njezini zapadni saveznici smatraju Bjelorusiju odgovornom za pogoršanje situacije, tvrdeći da Minsk pokušava destabilizirati Europu. Ranije ove godine, Bjelorusija je ukinula vize za građane nekoliko bliskoistočnih i afričkih država i otvorila brojne turističke agencije koje nude jednostavan i jeftin način dolaska u Europu. Kritičari kažu da bi taj potez mogao biti bjeloruski čin osvete Poljskoj, koja je podržala prošlogodišnje prosvjede protiv dugogodišnjeg predsjednika Aleksandra Lukašenka.

U Poljskoj raste zabrinutost zbog četverogodišnje djevojčice koja je nestala nakon što su njezine roditelje navodno gurnuli natrag u Bjelorusiju poljski graničari. Već danima aktivisti očajnički tragaju za Eileen, koja je nestala u ledenoj šumi u ponedjeljak navečer, prenosi Al Jazeera.

Nekoliko sati ranije, njezini roditelji, koji su iz Iraka, prešli su granicu pod okriljem noći sa grupom drugih migranata i izbjeglica. Bili su iscrpljeni, pa su zamolili jednog od svojih suputnika da im nosi kćer u naručju. Tada se pojavila poljska graničarska patrola i grupa se razbježala.
