Američko tužiteljstvo podiglo je optužnicu protiv člana kriminalne organizacije Yakuza Takeshija Ebisawa kojom se zajedno s mrežom suradnika tereti za promet nuklearnih materijala iz Burme u druge zemlje.

Prema optužnici, Ebisawa i njegovi suradnici pokazali su uzorke nuklearnog materijala na Tajlandu prikrivenom agentu (UC-1) Uprave za borbu protiv droge (DEA), koji se predstavio kao trgovac narkoticima i oružjem.

Uz pomoć tajlandskih vlasti, nuklearni uzorci su zaplijenjeni i nakon toga prebačeni na čuvanje američkoj policiji. Američki nuklearni forenzički laboratorij je kasnije analizirao uzorke i potvrdio da oni sadrže uran i plutonij za oružje.

Ebisawa i suoptuženi Somphop Singhasiri su u travnju 2022. bili optuženi za međunarodnu trgovinu narkoticima. Obojici je određen pritvor, piše Klix.ba.

"Zastrašujuće je zamisliti posljedice da su ovi napori uspjeli, a Ministarstvo pravde će smatrati odgovornim one koji trguju ovim materijalom i ugrožavaju nacionalnu sigurnost SAD-a i međunarodnu stabilnost", rekao je pomoćnik državnog tužitelja Matthew G. Olsen.

Zaposlenica DEA-a Anne Milgram rekla je da su optuženi išli toliko daleko da su ponudili uran i plutonij za nuklearno oružje, očekujući da će ga Iran iskoristiti.

"Ovo je izvanredan primjer izopačenosti trgovaca drogom koji posluju s potpunim zanemarivanjem ljudskih života. Pohvaljujem muškarce i žene DEA-e i ovaj tužiteljski tim za njihov neumorni rad da nas zaštite od takvog zla", rekla je Migram.

Ako budu osuđeni, članovima Yakuze prijeti kazna doživotnog zatvora.

Američko tužiteljstvo podiglo je optužnicu protiv člana kriminalne organizacije Yakuza Takeshija Ebisawa kojom se zajedno s mrežom suradnika tereti za promet nuklearnih materijala iz Burme u druge zemlje.

Prema optužnici, Ebisawa i njegovi suradnici pokazali su uzorke nuklearnog materijala na Tajlandu prikrivenom agentu (UC-1) Uprave za borbu protiv droge (DEA), koji se predstavio kao trgovac narkoticima i oružjem.

Uz pomoć tajlandskih vlasti, nuklearni uzorci su zaplijenjeni i nakon toga prebačeni na čuvanje američkoj policiji. Američki nuklearni forenzički laboratorij je kasnije analizirao uzorke i potvrdio da oni sadrže uran i plutonij za oružje.

Ebisawa i suoptuženi Somphop Singhasiri su u travnju 2022. bili optuženi za međunarodnu trgovinu narkoticima. Obojici je određen pritvor, piše Klix.ba.

"Zastrašujuće je zamisliti posljedice da su ovi napori uspjeli, a Ministarstvo pravde će smatrati odgovornim one koji trguju ovim materijalom i ugrožavaju nacionalnu sigurnost SAD-a i međunarodnu stabilnost", rekao je pomoćnik državnog tužitelja Matthew G. Olsen.

Zaposlenica DEA-a Anne Milgram rekla je da su optuženi išli toliko daleko da su ponudili uran i plutonij za nuklearno oružje, očekujući da će ga Iran iskoristiti.

"Ovo je izvanredan primjer izopačenosti trgovaca drogom koji posluju s potpunim zanemarivanjem ljudskih života. Pohvaljujem muškarce i žene DEA-e i ovaj tužiteljski tim za njihov neumorni rad da nas zaštite od takvog zla", rekla je Migram.

Ako budu osuđeni, članovima Yakuze prijeti kazna doživotnog zatvora.
