Otrovni kemijski spoj poznat pod kraticom PFAS, a u posljednje vrijeme i kao "forever chemicals" ("vječne kemikalije") široko se koristi u proizvodnji kozmetike nekih od najvećih robnih marki u SAD-u i Kanadi, utvrđeno je novom studijom koja je na prisutnost opasnih kemikalija testirala više stotina kozemtičkih proizvoda među kojima su i proizvodi brendova prisutnih i na hrvatskom tržištu.

PFAS ili per- i polifluoroalkilne tvari čijne razred od oko devet tisuća spojeva koji se koriste za izradu ambalaže za prehrambene proizvode, odjeću i tepihe otporne na vodu i mrlje. Često se nazivaju "vječnim kemikalijama"  jer se prirodno ne razgrađuju i utvrđeno je da se nakupljaju u ljudskom organizmu. Neka nih istraživanja povezuju s nastankom kancerogenih bolesti, urođenih mana, bolesti jetre, bolesti štitnjače, smanjenim imunitetom, poremećajima hormona i nizom drugih ozbiljnih zdravstvenih problema.

Studijom koja je objavljena u Environmental Science & Technology utvrđeno je ono što su njeni autori okarakterizirali kao "visoka razina" organskog fluora, pokazatelja prisutnosti PFAS-a, u više od polovice od 231 uzorka beauty proizvoda, među kojima su ruževi, olovke za oči, maskare, podloge, korektori, balzami za usne, rumenila, lakovi za nokte... Proizvodi u kojima je u najviše slučajeva pronađena visoka fluora uključuju vodootpornu maskaru (82% testiranih marki), podloge (63%) i tekući ruž (62%).

Tom Bruton s instituta Green Science Policy Institute i jedan od autora studije rekao je kako su neugodno iznenađeni pronalaskom tolike količine kemikalija.  "Riječ je o proizvodima koje svakodnevno koristimo, tako da stvarno postoji mogućnost značajne izloženosti.", upozorio je.

Znanstvenici nisu naveli u proizvodima kojih marki su nađene "vječne kemikalije", no opisali su zašto su PFAS toliko otrovne. S obzirom na svoju specifičnu građu, lako prodiru u žive organizme i okoliš, mogu se apsorbirati kroz kožu, putem suznih kanala ili ako se progutaju, što nije nimalo neuobičajena praksa, jer, kako je objasnio Green Science Policy Institute, osobe koje često nose ruž za usne za života mogu u svoj organizam unijeti i do nekoliko kilograma tog proizvoda tijekom svog života.

Regulatorne agencije često dopuštaju tvrtkama da podatke o prisutnosti i količini PFAS-a u svojim proizvodima čuvaju kao poslovnu tajnu, zbog čega kupci ostaju u poprilično opasnom neznanju. Međutim, studija je otkrila da je fluor, koji ukazuje na moguću prisutnost PFAS-a često prisutan u proizvodima koji se reklamiraju kao "dugotrajni“, "laki za nanošenje" i "vodootporni“.

Burton je istaknuo da ovim istraživanjem nije utvrđeno koriste li tvrtke opasne kemikalije svjesno ili zato što ne obraćaju previše pažnje na sigurnost spojeva koje koriste i moguće loše posljedice za korisnike. Primijetio je također da oko polovine uzoraka nije sadržavalo visoku razinu fluora, što sugerira da se kozmetika može izrađivati i ​​bez PFAS-a.

"Zbog toga je važno da vlada ovo pitanje jasnije regulira,  a kozmetička industrija učini više kako bi izbjegla upotrebu ovako opasnih kemikalija", rekao je.

Otrovni kemijski spoj poznat pod kraticom PFAS, a u posljednje vrijeme i kao "forever chemicals" ("vječne kemikalije") široko se koristi u proizvodnji kozmetike nekih od najvećih robnih marki u SAD-u i Kanadi, utvrđeno je novom studijom koja je na prisutnost opasnih kemikalija testirala više stotina kozemtičkih proizvoda među kojima su i proizvodi brendova prisutnih i na hrvatskom tržištu.

PFAS ili per- i polifluoroalkilne tvari čijne razred od oko devet tisuća spojeva koji se koriste za izradu ambalaže za prehrambene proizvode, odjeću i tepihe otporne na vodu i mrlje. Često se nazivaju "vječnim kemikalijama"  jer se prirodno ne razgrađuju i utvrđeno je da se nakupljaju u ljudskom organizmu. Neka nih istraživanja povezuju s nastankom kancerogenih bolesti, urođenih mana, bolesti jetre, bolesti štitnjače, smanjenim imunitetom, poremećajima hormona i nizom drugih ozbiljnih zdravstvenih problema.

Studijom koja je objavljena u Environmental Science & Technology utvrđeno je ono što su njeni autori okarakterizirali kao "visoka razina" organskog fluora, pokazatelja prisutnosti PFAS-a, u više od polovice od 231 uzorka beauty proizvoda, među kojima su ruževi, olovke za oči, maskare, podloge, korektori, balzami za usne, rumenila, lakovi za nokte... Proizvodi u kojima je u najviše slučajeva pronađena visoka fluora uključuju vodootpornu maskaru (82% testiranih marki), podloge (63%) i tekući ruž (62%).

Tom Bruton s instituta Green Science Policy Institute i jedan od autora studije rekao je kako su neugodno iznenađeni pronalaskom tolike količine kemikalija.  "Riječ je o proizvodima koje svakodnevno koristimo, tako da stvarno postoji mogućnost značajne izloženosti.", upozorio je.

Znanstvenici nisu naveli u proizvodima kojih marki su nađene "vječne kemikalije", no opisali su zašto su PFAS toliko otrovne. S obzirom na svoju specifičnu građu, lako prodiru u žive organizme i okoliš, mogu se apsorbirati kroz kožu, putem suznih kanala ili ako se progutaju, što nije nimalo neuobičajena praksa, jer, kako je objasnio Green Science Policy Institute, osobe koje često nose ruž za usne za života mogu u svoj organizam unijeti i do nekoliko kilograma tog proizvoda tijekom svog života.

Regulatorne agencije često dopuštaju tvrtkama da podatke o prisutnosti i količini PFAS-a u svojim proizvodima čuvaju kao poslovnu tajnu, zbog čega kupci ostaju u poprilično opasnom neznanju. Međutim, studija je otkrila da je fluor, koji ukazuje na moguću prisutnost PFAS-a često prisutan u proizvodima koji se reklamiraju kao "dugotrajni“, "laki za nanošenje" i "vodootporni“.

Burton je istaknuo da ovim istraživanjem nije utvrđeno koriste li tvrtke opasne kemikalije svjesno ili zato što ne obraćaju previše pažnje na sigurnost spojeva koje koriste i moguće loše posljedice za korisnike. Primijetio je također da oko polovine uzoraka nije sadržavalo visoku razinu fluora, što sugerira da se kozmetika može izrađivati i ​​bez PFAS-a.

"Zbog toga je važno da vlada ovo pitanje jasnije regulira,  a kozmetička industrija učini više kako bi izbjegla upotrebu ovako opasnih kemikalija", rekao je.

Otrovni kemijski spoj poznat pod kraticom PFAS, a u posljednje vrijeme i kao "forever chemicals" ("vječne kemikalije") široko se koristi u proizvodnji kozmetike nekih od najvećih robnih marki u SAD-u i Kanadi, utvrđeno je novom studijom koja je na prisutnost opasnih kemikalija testirala više stotina kozemtičkih proizvoda među kojima su i proizvodi brendova prisutnih i na hrvatskom tržištu.

PFAS ili per- i polifluoroalkilne tvari čijne razred od oko devet tisuća spojeva koji se koriste za izradu ambalaže za prehrambene proizvode, odjeću i tepihe otporne na vodu i mrlje. Često se nazivaju "vječnim kemikalijama"  jer se prirodno ne razgrađuju i utvrđeno je da se nakupljaju u ljudskom organizmu. Neka nih istraživanja povezuju s nastankom kancerogenih bolesti, urođenih mana, bolesti jetre, bolesti štitnjače, smanjenim imunitetom, poremećajima hormona i nizom drugih ozbiljnih zdravstvenih problema.

Studijom koja je objavljena u Environmental Science & Technology utvrđeno je ono što su njeni autori okarakterizirali kao "visoka razina" organskog fluora, pokazatelja prisutnosti PFAS-a, u više od polovice od 231 uzorka beauty proizvoda, među kojima su ruževi, olovke za oči, maskare, podloge, korektori, balzami za usne, rumenila, lakovi za nokte... Proizvodi u kojima je u najviše slučajeva pronađena visoka fluora uključuju vodootpornu maskaru (82% testiranih marki), podloge (63%) i tekući ruž (62%).

Tom Bruton s instituta Green Science Policy Institute i jedan od autora studije rekao je kako su neugodno iznenađeni pronalaskom tolike količine kemikalija.  "Riječ je o proizvodima koje svakodnevno koristimo, tako da stvarno postoji mogućnost značajne izloženosti.", upozorio je.
