Otkriće Australke nezakonito lišene slobode u pritvoru dovelo je do javne istrage koja je otkrila sustavne nedostatke Australskog odjela za imigraciju i potrebu za hitnom reformom. Istraga je preporučila nezavisnu reviziju da bi se osiguralo pošteno i pravedno provođenje pritvorne politike, uz iskazano poštovanje ljudskog dostojanstva.

Od 2012. svi tražitelji azila koji dolaze u Australiju brodom su zadržani u "offshore" imigracijskim pritvornim centrima uključujući Nauru i Otok Manus (Papua Nova Gvineja). Odvjetnici, mediji i zagovornici imaju ograničen pristup ovim centrima. Globalno, trenutno više od 70 milijuna raseljenih ljudi traži utočište od rata i progona. Polovina njih su djeca...

Cate Blanchett kao producentica

Ovi nezavisni podaci izlistavaju se na odjavnoj špici šestodijelne australske dramske serije "Stateless" koju je za svjetsku streaming distribuciju kupio popularni Netflix. Kreativno prevedena kao "Dom oštrih zidova", serija je, znači, inspirirana istinitom pričom za koju je čula oskarovka Cate Blanchett i odlučila je producirati.

Blanchett je navedena kao jedna od kreatorica serije, uz Tonyja Ayresa i Elise McCredie, a odigrala je i manju ulogu Pat Masters, vođe nekakvog "self help" kulta zajedno sa suprugom Gordonom (Dominic West) u koji će biti uvučena mentalno labilna stjuardesa Sofie (dosad najbolja uloga Yvonne Strahovski; "Sluškinjina priča"), kćer njemačkih doseljenika u Australiju.

Sofie je glavni lik serije u režiji dobre australske filmašice Jocelyn Moorhouse ("Istkano srcem", "Darovi mržnje", "Dressmaker"), fiktivni odgovor na stvarnu Australku s početka teksta. Sa njom "Stateless" i započinje. Kamera je prati iznurenu u paničnom bijegu kroz pustinju da nadraži gledatelja kako je dotle došla i odakle uopće bježi.

Priča potom kreće iznova i predstavlja nam Sofie u flešbekovima kao stjuardesu koja će ukrasti putovnicu njemačke turistkinje Eve Hoffmann kako bi pobjegla od svega u Europu, biti uhvaćena na aerodromu i smještena u kamp za azilante, gdje fragilne psihe odbija otkriti tko je zapravo, a autoriteti žele znati "zašto je netko tko izgleda poput njih zatočen ovdje", nemajući pojma da je Australka.

Predstavljaju nam se i ostali važniji likovi serije. Ameer (Fayssal Bazzi) i njegova afganistanska obitelj nalaze se u bijegu s Bliskog istoka da počnu novi život u Australiji. "Čim dosegneš odredište, moraš se izjasniti kao izbjeglica", govore Ameeru koji će se spletom okolnosti razdvojiti od familije i završiti u imigracijskom pritvornom centru "Barton".

U tom centru kao čuvar radi obiteljski čovjek Cam Sandford (solidni Jai Courtney), isprve dragi i blagi tip, ali doživjet će promjenu karaktera zahvaljujući sve stresnijem poslu i kolegama. Konačno, tu je i "immigration lady" Claire (Asher Keddie), menadžerica imigracijske službe koja od šefice dobiva zadatak da skine "Barton" s naslovnica novina, posebice nakon što na jednoj osvane fotografija isprebijanog i zavezanog izbjeglice nakon pendrečenja čuvara.

Kolateralne žrtve

Kvalitetno glumljen, režiran i napisan, "Dom oštrih zidova" je, dakle, serijski tip mozaične "short cuts" drame tipa "Nula Nula Nula", a u stilu Oscarom nagrađenog filma "Traffic" Stevena Soderbergha, zainteresiran za sudbine nekoliko ljudi koje na ovaj ili onaj način povezuje imigracijski pritvorni centar, od izbjeglica ili azilanata do autoriteta, dok među njima dolazi do dramskih tenzija.

Na taj način pokriva se širok spektar jedne od gorućih tema mnogih svjetskih zemalja današnjice – imigrantske politike. Jedna od boljih i važnijih novijih serija s logom Netflixa je angažirana i humana, podižući svijest o temi i bivajući fokusirana na ljude unutar sustava, u ovom slučaju australskog zakona i procedura, čije su kolateralne žrtve.

Likovi serije nepravedno su utamničeni na dehumanizirajućem mjestu ograđenom bodljikavom žicom, koje službeno nije zatvor, niti je njihov boravak tu zatvorska kazna, mada nije ni daleko od toga. "Ovakvi zatvori nalaze se diljem Australije", otkriva jedan zatočenik Ameeru. "Zašto", pita Ameer i dobije odgovor "Zato što smo teroristi".

Mnogima je, poput Ameera, oduzeta sloboda pod sumnjom da su, zbog izgleda, teroristi ili nasilni kriminalci, premda to nisu, a sve što žele je viza i bore se da ne budu deportirani natrag u domovinu. "Stateless" dočarava njihove patnje i pozicionira se kao serija imigrantskog trenutka s "Bartonom" kao izbjegličkim svijetom u malom, simbolom za sve "domove oštrih zidova".

Otkriće Australke nezakonito lišene slobode u pritvoru dovelo je do javne istrage koja je otkrila sustavne nedostatke Australskog odjela za imigraciju i potrebu za hitnom reformom. Istraga je preporučila nezavisnu reviziju da bi se osiguralo pošteno i pravedno provođenje pritvorne politike, uz iskazano poštovanje ljudskog dostojanstva.

Od 2012. svi tražitelji azila koji dolaze u Australiju brodom su zadržani u "offshore" imigracijskim pritvornim centrima uključujući Nauru i Otok Manus (Papua Nova Gvineja). Odvjetnici, mediji i zagovornici imaju ograničen pristup ovim centrima. Globalno, trenutno više od 70 milijuna raseljenih ljudi traži utočište od rata i progona. Polovina njih su djeca...

Cate Blanchett kao producentica

Ovi nezavisni podaci izlistavaju se na odjavnoj špici šestodijelne australske dramske serije "Stateless" koju je za svjetsku streaming distribuciju kupio popularni Netflix. Kreativno prevedena kao "Dom oštrih zidova", serija je, znači, inspirirana istinitom pričom za koju je čula oskarovka Cate Blanchett i odlučila je producirati.

Blanchett je navedena kao jedna od kreatorica serije, uz Tonyja Ayresa i Elise McCredie, a odigrala je i manju ulogu Pat Masters, vođe nekakvog "self help" kulta zajedno sa suprugom Gordonom (Dominic West) u koji će biti uvučena mentalno labilna stjuardesa Sofie (dosad najbolja uloga Yvonne Strahovski; "Sluškinjina priča"), kćer njemačkih doseljenika u Australiju.

Sofie je glavni lik serije u režiji dobre australske filmašice Jocelyn Moorhouse ("Istkano srcem", "Darovi mržnje", "Dressmaker"), fiktivni odgovor na stvarnu Australku s početka teksta. Sa njom "Stateless" i započinje. Kamera je prati iznurenu u paničnom bijegu kroz pustinju da nadraži gledatelja kako je dotle došla i odakle uopće bježi.

Priča potom kreće iznova i predstavlja nam Sofie u flešbekovima kao stjuardesu koja će ukrasti putovnicu njemačke turistkinje Eve Hoffmann kako bi pobjegla od svega u Europu, biti uhvaćena na aerodromu i smještena u kamp za azilante, gdje fragilne psihe odbija otkriti tko je zapravo, a autoriteti žele znati "zašto je netko tko izgleda poput njih zatočen ovdje", nemajući pojma da je Australka.

Predstavljaju nam se i ostali važniji likovi serije. Ameer (Fayssal Bazzi) i njegova afganistanska obitelj nalaze se u bijegu s Bliskog istoka da počnu novi život u Australiji. "Čim dosegneš odredište, moraš se izjasniti kao izbjeglica", govore Ameeru koji će se spletom okolnosti razdvojiti od familije i završiti u imigracijskom pritvornom centru "Barton".

U tom centru kao čuvar radi obiteljski čovjek Cam Sandford (solidni Jai Courtney), isprve dragi i blagi tip, ali doživjet će promjenu karaktera zahvaljujući sve stresnijem poslu i kolegama. Konačno, tu je i "immigration lady" Claire (Asher Keddie), menadžerica imigracijske službe koja od šefice dobiva zadatak da skine "Barton" s naslovnica novina, posebice nakon što na jednoj osvane fotografija isprebijanog i zavezanog izbjeglice nakon pendrečenja čuvara.

Kolateralne žrtve

Kvalitetno glumljen, režiran i napisan, "Dom oštrih zidova" je, dakle, serijski tip mozaične "short cuts" drame tipa "Nula Nula Nula", a u stilu Oscarom nagrađenog filma "Traffic" Stevena Soderbergha, zainteresiran za sudbine nekoliko ljudi koje na ovaj ili onaj način povezuje imigracijski pritvorni centar, od izbjeglica ili azilanata do autoriteta, dok među njima dolazi do dramskih tenzija.

Na taj način pokriva se širok spektar jedne od gorućih tema mnogih svjetskih zemalja današnjice – imigrantske politike. Jedna od boljih i važnijih novijih serija s logom Netflixa je angažirana i humana, podižući svijest o temi i bivajući fokusirana na ljude unutar sustava, u ovom slučaju australskog zakona i procedura, čije su kolateralne žrtve.

Likovi serije nepravedno su utamničeni na dehumanizirajućem mjestu ograđenom bodljikavom žicom, koje službeno nije zatvor, niti je njihov boravak tu zatvorska kazna, mada nije ni daleko od toga. "Ovakvi zatvori nalaze se diljem Australije", otkriva jedan zatočenik Ameeru. "Zašto", pita Ameer i dobije odgovor "Zato što smo teroristi".

Mnogima je, poput Ameera, oduzeta sloboda pod sumnjom da su, zbog izgleda, teroristi ili nasilni kriminalci, premda to nisu, a sve što žele je viza i bore se da ne budu deportirani natrag u domovinu. "Stateless" dočarava njihove patnje i pozicionira se kao serija imigrantskog trenutka s "Bartonom" kao izbjegličkim svijetom u malom, simbolom za sve "domove oštrih zidova".
