S obzirom na viđeno u prve dvije utakmice finala, činjenicu da se treća igra u Gružu, mišljenja sam kako će večeras Jug zaključiti sezonu. Uoči finala, s obzirom kako je Mladost odigrala polufinale protiv nas, Jadrana, bio sam mišljenja kako će presingom uspjeti naškoditi i Jugu.

Stoji, uspjela je prve dvije četvrtine druge utakmice u Zagrebu, ali za dobiti Juga nije dovoljno biti dobar samo dvije četvrtine. Jug se u završnici sezone posložio, a s obzirom kako je bez trofeja ove sezone, njegov motiv je baš velik, te sumnjam kako Mladost može takvog Juga dobiti i produžiti finalnu seriju – istaknuo je legendarni Jugov centar, Mile Smodlaka, danas trener splitskog Jadrana.

Lani se također treća utakmica finala igrala u Gružu, Jug je uoči nje imao vodstvo 2:0, a u njoj je bilo 19:3 za Juga! Nestvarnih 16 razlike za 16. trofej prvaka Hrvatske Jug Adriatic osiguranja, 65. trofej u povijesti, a ovaj put i ako bude 17 razlike, te sastav iz Gruža podigne u svom domu 17, ništa ne može zasjeniti pobjedu Juga u Gružu ostvarenu na današnji dan prije točno 20 godina.

- Svaki put kad se sjetim kako smo osvojili naslov prvaka Europe 2001., u kakvoj atmosferi, sav se naježim – istaknuo je Smodlaka. Dan prije Elvis Fatović, tadašnji Jugov kapetan, danas njegov sin Loren igra u kapici dubrovačkog kluba, pogodio je sa zvukom sirene za pobjedu u polufinalu Final foura europske Lige prvaka protiv Bečeja 10:9, a tog 19. svibnja 2001. Smodlaka sedam sekundi prije kraja produžetka za pobjedu 8:7 te Jugov drugi naslov prvaka Europe (danas ih ima četiri).

- Gledao sam na HTV-u snimku finala protiv Olympiacosa. Danas mi se sve to čini nestvarno. Krcate tribine. Ona nevjerojatna atmosfera... Uvijek kažem, kad se sjetim tog Final foura 2001., kako je to bio naš najbolji, najljepši mogući san. Rezultatski, bio je to podvig. Čudo smo napravili. Stoji, nismo krenuli od nule, ali smo se takoreći bili tek skupili – prisjeća se legendarni hrvatski centar.

- Bečej je u Gružu te 2001. branio naslov prvaka Europe. Bečej je bio reprezentacija Srbije i Crne Gore plus Peter Biros i Tamas Molnar, dva zlatna Mađara, olimpijski pobjednici. Reprezentacija Srbije i Crne Gore u Sydneyju na Olimpijskim igrama je osvojila broncu. Bečej nije dvije godine izgubio utakmicu. Nanizao je pedeset i nešto pobjeda.

- Eto protiv koga smo igrali u polufinalu, ali, bez obzira što se mnogi, kad se sjećaju tog Final foura 2001., sjećaju naše pobjede protiv Bečeja, a manje one protiv Olympiacoisa, ja nikad nisam razmišljao na način: moramo dobiti Bečej, pa što bude u finalu. Ne, želio sam uvijek biti prvi. Razmišljao kako moramo sve dobiti bez obzira tko je suparnik, ali, stoji kako je utakmica protiv Bečeja bila veličanstvena, iako, teža nam je bila utakmica protiv Olympiacosa.

Sam je sebi potom postavio pitanje, te odgovorio na njega.

- Znaš li zašto nam je bila teža utakmica protiv Olympiacosa, a ne protiv Bečeja, iako je Bečej bio jači od Olympiacosa? Zato jer smo se potrošili protiv Bečeja večer prije, a nakon toga nismo mogli zaspat, što od umora, što od adrenalina. Pamtim 'čuveni kafić Hogar' u Župi dubrovačkoj, koji je bio pun nas igrača od trena kad je sunce svanulo. U sobi smo čekali dok svane, kako bi izašli iz hotela, a sve da ne bi ljudi u Župi rekli kako smo ludi.

- I onda, kad je svanulo, dole u Hogara smo ispijali kavu da ne prespavamo finale. Sve što se dogodilo poslije je bilo fantastično. Pobjeda u produžetku, osvojen trofej, ta radost prvo na bazenu, pa potom po čitavom Gradu... I kad sam zadnji put gledao snimku finala, rastužio sam se. Da, bio sam tužan, a znaš li zašto? Jer danas nema tog fanatizma u Dubrovniku, ma nigdje. To me žalosti. Koliko puta sam se pitao: 'Kako smo to uspjeli izgubiti?'.

Danas je dan kad 'pamtimo samo sretne dane', te vraćamo osmijeh na lice Smodlaki podsjećanjem kako je DJ Vjeverica nakon pobjedničkog kupanja Jugaša pustio Gibonnijevu pjesmu: 'Mi smo prvaci’. Tad je više od 5000 gledatelja zapjevalo 'k'o jedan', a prije nego će Elvis Fatović podići pokal prvaka Europe, Jugaši su se naklonili tribinama, koja ih je pozdravljala 'valovima’ sreće.

- Meni je ta atmosfera, to što se događalo na tribinama i u Gradu tih dana, vrijednije od bilo kojeg našeg trofeja, i to pamtim više od bilo kojeg trofeja. Da, moja generacija je baš bila sretna jer nije igrala samo za trofeje, već i za sve te ljude, koji su bili uz nas – naglasio je Smodlaka, koji je, kao i Alen Bošković u tom finalu 2001. postigao dva pogotka, Fatović tri, a nažalost danas pokojni Ivo Ivaniš jedan. Pamti se kako je Maro Balić stao na vrata umjesto Gorana Volarevića, kako je današnji Jugov pomoćnik kraj utakmice dočekao s loptom u ruci, te je poslao na tribine...

Treća utakmica finala doigravanja za naslov prvaka Hrvatske 2021. između Jug Adriatic osiguranja i Mladosti počinje u Gružu u 18 sati uz izravan televizijski prijenos na drugom programu HTV-a.

S obzirom na viđeno u prve dvije utakmice finala, činjenicu da se treća igra u Gružu, mišljenja sam kako će večeras Jug zaključiti sezonu. Uoči finala, s obzirom kako je Mladost odigrala polufinale protiv nas, Jadrana, bio sam mišljenja kako će presingom uspjeti naškoditi i Jugu.

Stoji, uspjela je prve dvije četvrtine druge utakmice u Zagrebu, ali za dobiti Juga nije dovoljno biti dobar samo dvije četvrtine. Jug se u završnici sezone posložio, a s obzirom kako je bez trofeja ove sezone, njegov motiv je baš velik, te sumnjam kako Mladost može takvog Juga dobiti i produžiti finalnu seriju – istaknuo je legendarni Jugov centar, Mile Smodlaka, danas trener splitskog Jadrana.

Lani se također treća utakmica finala igrala u Gružu, Jug je uoči nje imao vodstvo 2:0, a u njoj je bilo 19:3 za Juga! Nestvarnih 16 razlike za 16. trofej prvaka Hrvatske Jug Adriatic osiguranja, 65. trofej u povijesti, a ovaj put i ako bude 17 razlike, te sastav iz Gruža podigne u svom domu 17, ništa ne može zasjeniti pobjedu Juga u Gružu ostvarenu na današnji dan prije točno 20 godina.

- Svaki put kad se sjetim kako smo osvojili naslov prvaka Europe 2001., u kakvoj atmosferi, sav se naježim – istaknuo je Smodlaka. Dan prije Elvis Fatović, tadašnji Jugov kapetan, danas njegov sin Loren igra u kapici dubrovačkog kluba, pogodio je sa zvukom sirene za pobjedu u polufinalu Final foura europske Lige prvaka protiv Bečeja 10:9, a tog 19. svibnja 2001. Smodlaka sedam sekundi prije kraja produžetka za pobjedu 8:7 te Jugov drugi naslov prvaka Europe (danas ih ima četiri).

- Gledao sam na HTV-u snimku finala protiv Olympiacosa. Danas mi se sve to čini nestvarno. Krcate tribine. Ona nevjerojatna atmosfera... Uvijek kažem, kad se sjetim tog Final foura 2001., kako je to bio naš najbolji, najljepši mogući san. Rezultatski, bio je to podvig. Čudo smo napravili. Stoji, nismo krenuli od nule, ali smo se takoreći bili tek skupili – prisjeća se legendarni hrvatski centar.

- Bečej je u Gružu te 2001. branio naslov prvaka Europe. Bečej je bio reprezentacija Srbije i Crne Gore plus Peter Biros i Tamas Molnar, dva zlatna Mađara, olimpijski pobjednici. Reprezentacija Srbije i Crne Gore u Sydneyju na Olimpijskim igrama je osvojila broncu. Bečej nije dvije godine izgubio utakmicu. Nanizao je pedeset i nešto pobjeda.

- Eto protiv koga smo igrali u polufinalu, ali, bez obzira što se mnogi, kad se sjećaju tog Final foura 2001., sjećaju naše pobjede protiv Bečeja, a manje one protiv Olympiacoisa, ja nikad nisam razmišljao na način: moramo dobiti Bečej, pa što bude u finalu. Ne, želio sam uvijek biti prvi. Razmišljao kako moramo sve dobiti bez obzira tko je suparnik, ali, stoji kako je utakmica protiv Bečeja bila veličanstvena, iako, teža nam je bila utakmica protiv Olympiacosa.

Sam je sebi potom postavio pitanje, te odgovorio na njega.

- Znaš li zašto nam je bila teža utakmica protiv Olympiacosa, a ne protiv Bečeja, iako je Bečej bio jači od Olympiacosa? Zato jer smo se potrošili protiv Bečeja večer prije, a nakon toga nismo mogli zaspat, što od umora, što od adrenalina. Pamtim 'čuveni kafić Hogar' u Župi dubrovačkoj, koji je bio pun nas igrača od trena kad je sunce svanulo. U sobi smo čekali dok svane, kako bi izašli iz hotela, a sve da ne bi ljudi u Župi rekli kako smo ludi.

- I onda, kad je svanulo, dole u Hogara smo ispijali kavu da ne prespavamo finale. Sve što se dogodilo poslije je bilo fantastično. Pobjeda u produžetku, osvojen trofej, ta radost prvo na bazenu, pa potom po čitavom Gradu... I kad sam zadnji put gledao snimku finala, rastužio sam se. Da, bio sam tužan, a znaš li zašto? Jer danas nema tog fanatizma u Dubrovniku, ma nigdje. To me žalosti. Koliko puta sam se pitao: 'Kako smo to uspjeli izgubiti?'.

Danas je dan kad 'pamtimo samo sretne dane', te vraćamo osmijeh na lice Smodlaki podsjećanjem kako je DJ Vjeverica nakon pobjedničkog kupanja Jugaša pustio Gibonnijevu pjesmu: 'Mi smo prvaci’. Tad je više od 5000 gledatelja zapjevalo 'k'o jedan', a prije nego će Elvis Fatović podići pokal prvaka Europe, Jugaši su se naklonili tribinama, koja ih je pozdravljala 'valovima’ sreće.

- Meni je ta atmosfera, to što se događalo na tribinama i u Gradu tih dana, vrijednije od bilo kojeg našeg trofeja, i to pamtim više od bilo kojeg trofeja. Da, moja generacija je baš bila sretna jer nije igrala samo za trofeje, već i za sve te ljude, koji su bili uz nas – naglasio je Smodlaka, koji je, kao i Alen Bošković u tom finalu 2001. postigao dva pogotka, Fatović tri, a nažalost danas pokojni Ivo Ivaniš jedan. Pamti se kako je Maro Balić stao na vrata umjesto Gorana Volarevića, kako je današnji Jugov pomoćnik kraj utakmice dočekao s loptom u ruci, te je poslao na tribine...

Treća utakmica finala doigravanja za naslov prvaka Hrvatske 2021. između Jug Adriatic osiguranja i Mladosti počinje u Gružu u 18 sati uz izravan televizijski prijenos na drugom programu HTV-a.
