Senzacionalni Hrvati igraju finale kupa Australije u nogometu kao posljednji čin svoje sportske bajke. Drugoligaš Sydney United 58, nekadašnja Sydney Croatia, danas će igrati finale australskog kupa protiv favoriziranog Macarthura, člana elitne A-League.

Mnogobrojnim hrvatskim iseljenicima u Australiji svih generacija danas je poseban dan, igra se finale nacionalnog nogometnog kupa u koji se čudesno plasirao njihov Sydney United koji je do devedesetih godina prošlog stoljeća nosio „prezime” Croatia. Klub je osnovan davne 1958. godine od strane hrvatskih iseljenika, ali kada je nacionalni predznak zabranjen u nazivima klubova postao je Sydney United. No, u grbu kluba ostale su do danas šahovnica i hrvatska trobojnica, dres čine crvene majice, bijele hlačice i plave štucne, a među igračima i danas je mnogo onih koji su hrvatskih korijena.

Sydney United je prvi drugoligaš koji je stigao do finala nacionalnog kupa i ovo je najveća utakmica u povijesti kluba. Učinio je to s igračima koji su poluamateri te preko dva člana elitnog ranga, Brisbane Roara kojeg je u polufinalu izbacio rezultatom 3:2 i aktualnog prvaka Australije Western Uniteda kojeg je eliminirao ranije (A-League je zatvorena liga, u nju se ne može ući ni ispasti, osim dobivanjem ili gubitkom licence).

Na CommBank stadionu u Sydneyu kapaciteta tridesetak tisuća gledatelja na kojem se igra finalna utakmica očekuje se dvadesetak tisuća hrvatskih navijača. Koliki su Hrvati autsajderi u ovom susretu najbolje govori i odnos vrijednosti na Transfermarktu. Cijela momčad Macarthura, profesionalnog kluba iz jugozapadnog Sydneya, vrijedi 7,65 milijuna eura. Cijela momčad Sydney Uniteda „piza” samo 110 tisuća eura, odnosno čak sedamdesetak puta manje. Koeficijent na pobjedu Macarthura na kladionicama je samo 1,22, a na slavlje Sydney Uniteda je čak 13. Međutim, Hrvatima nitko ne može zabraniti da sanjaju i dalje.

Glavni trener Sydney Uniteda je Miro Vlastelica, porijeklom je iz Turjaka kod Sinja.

- U jednoj utakmici sve je moguće. Respektiramo Macarthur, njihove igrače, ali ne bojimo se nikoga! – poručio je Vlastelica.

Ako slavi Sydney United bit će to prvo kup slavlje tandema otac i sin u ovom natjecanju. Naime, kapetan Sydney Uniteda je Mirov sin Adrian Vlastelica.

Na klupi Macarthura sjedi pak Dwight Yorke. Legenda Manchester Uniteda i Aston Ville Yorke na klupi je naslijedio bivšeg igrača Sydney Uniteda, još jednog trenera hrvatskog porijekla Antu Miličića.

Senzacionalni Hrvati igraju finale kupa Australije u nogometu kao posljednji čin svoje sportske bajke. Drugoligaš Sydney United 58, nekadašnja Sydney Croatia, danas će igrati finale australskog kupa protiv favoriziranog Macarthura, člana elitne A-League.

Mnogobrojnim hrvatskim iseljenicima u Australiji svih generacija danas je poseban dan, igra se finale nacionalnog nogometnog kupa u koji se čudesno plasirao njihov Sydney United koji je do devedesetih godina prošlog stoljeća nosio „prezime” Croatia. Klub je osnovan davne 1958. godine od strane hrvatskih iseljenika, ali kada je nacionalni predznak zabranjen u nazivima klubova postao je Sydney United. No, u grbu kluba ostale su do danas šahovnica i hrvatska trobojnica, dres čine crvene majice, bijele hlačice i plave štucne, a među igračima i danas je mnogo onih koji su hrvatskih korijena.

Sydney United je prvi drugoligaš koji je stigao do finala nacionalnog kupa i ovo je najveća utakmica u povijesti kluba. Učinio je to s igračima koji su poluamateri te preko dva člana elitnog ranga, Brisbane Roara kojeg je u polufinalu izbacio rezultatom 3:2 i aktualnog prvaka Australije Western Uniteda kojeg je eliminirao ranije (A-League je zatvorena liga, u nju se ne može ući ni ispasti, osim dobivanjem ili gubitkom licence).

Na CommBank stadionu u Sydneyu kapaciteta tridesetak tisuća gledatelja na kojem se igra finalna utakmica očekuje se dvadesetak tisuća hrvatskih navijača. Koliki su Hrvati autsajderi u ovom susretu najbolje govori i odnos vrijednosti na Transfermarktu. Cijela momčad Macarthura, profesionalnog kluba iz jugozapadnog Sydneya, vrijedi 7,65 milijuna eura. Cijela momčad Sydney Uniteda „piza” samo 110 tisuća eura, odnosno čak sedamdesetak puta manje. Koeficijent na pobjedu Macarthura na kladionicama je samo 1,22, a na slavlje Sydney Uniteda je čak 13. Međutim, Hrvatima nitko ne može zabraniti da sanjaju i dalje.

Glavni trener Sydney Uniteda je Miro Vlastelica, porijeklom je iz Turjaka kod Sinja.

- U jednoj utakmici sve je moguće. Respektiramo Macarthur, njihove igrače, ali ne bojimo se nikoga! – poručio je Vlastelica.

Ako slavi Sydney United bit će to prvo kup slavlje tandema otac i sin u ovom natjecanju. Naime, kapetan Sydney Uniteda je Mirov sin Adrian Vlastelica.

Na klupi Macarthura sjedi pak Dwight Yorke. Legenda Manchester Uniteda i Aston Ville Yorke na klupi je naslijedio bivšeg igrača Sydney Uniteda, još jednog trenera hrvatskog porijekla Antu Miličića.

Senzacionalni Hrvati igraju finale kupa Australije u nogometu kao posljednji čin svoje sportske bajke. Drugoligaš Sydney United 58, nekadašnja Sydney Croatia, danas će igrati finale australskog kupa protiv favoriziranog Macarthura, člana elitne A-League.

Mnogobrojnim hrvatskim iseljenicima u Australiji svih generacija danas je poseban dan, igra se finale nacionalnog nogometnog kupa u koji se čudesno plasirao njihov Sydney United koji je do devedesetih godina prošlog stoljeća nosio „prezime” Croatia. Klub je osnovan davne 1958. godine od strane hrvatskih iseljenika, ali kada je nacionalni predznak zabranjen u nazivima klubova postao je Sydney United. No, u grbu kluba ostale su do danas šahovnica i hrvatska trobojnica, dres čine crvene majice, bijele hlačice i plave...
