U 89. godini preminuo je Vinko (Vicko) Šoljan, diplomirani ekonomist, član Opće skupštine Hrvatskoga olimpijskog odbora, posebno zaslužan za razvoj sportova, osobito plivanja, u svom Starom Gradu i na otoku Hvaru.

Njegove najveće zasluge vezane su uz razvoj upravo daljinskog plivanja, kako na otoku Hvaru i u Dalmaciji, tako i diljem Hrvatske ali i u međunarodnom sportskom okruženju.

Utemeljio je 1976. plivački “Faros Maraton” koji je tijekom godina postao jedan od velikih svjetskih sportskih događaja. Vodio je niz godina Odbor za daljinsko plivanje unutar Hrvatskoga plivačkog saveza. Bio je najzaslužniji za osnivanje samostalnoga Hrvatskog saveza daljinskog plivanja, čiji je bio predsjednik i izbornik reprezentacije.

Prema odluci Vijeća HOOa dobitnik je Trofeja Međunarodnoga olimpijskoj odbora “Istaknutost u športu” za 2003. godinu. Od 2008. godine član je Kuće slavnih International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame (IMSHOF) u kategoriji Istaknutih sportskih dužnosnika. Bio je počasni građanin Staroga Grada.

Pamtit ćemo ga kao utemeljitelja i gorljivog promotora Faros maratona čija slavna plivačka povijest ostaje duboko ukorijenjena u prepoznatljivu starogradsku sportsku i plivačku tradiciju, a koju će dalje njegovati i razvijati buduće generacije

U 89. godini preminuo je Vinko (Vicko) Šoljan, diplomirani ekonomist, član Opće skupštine Hrvatskoga olimpijskog odbora, posebno zaslužan za razvoj sportova, osobito plivanja, u svom Starom Gradu i na otoku Hvaru.

Njegove najveće zasluge vezane su uz razvoj upravo daljinskog plivanja, kako na otoku Hvaru i u Dalmaciji, tako i diljem Hrvatske ali i u međunarodnom sportskom okruženju.

Utemeljio je 1976. plivački “Faros Maraton” koji je tijekom godina postao jedan od velikih svjetskih sportskih događaja. Vodio je niz godina Odbor za daljinsko plivanje unutar Hrvatskoga plivačkog saveza. Bio je najzaslužniji za osnivanje samostalnoga Hrvatskog saveza daljinskog plivanja, čiji je bio predsjednik i izbornik reprezentacije.

Prema odluci Vijeća HOOa dobitnik je Trofeja Međunarodnoga olimpijskoj odbora “Istaknutost u športu” za 2003. godinu. Od 2008. godine član je Kuće slavnih International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame (IMSHOF) u kategoriji Istaknutih sportskih dužnosnika. Bio je počasni građanin Staroga Grada.

Pamtit ćemo ga kao utemeljitelja i gorljivog promotora Faros maratona čija slavna plivačka povijest ostaje duboko ukorijenjena u prepoznatljivu starogradsku sportsku i plivačku tradiciju, a koju će dalje njegovati i razvijati buduće generacije

Umro je Vinko Šoljan, odlazak velikog entuzijaste i utemeljitelja ‘Faros maratona‘

U 89. godini preminuo je Vinko (Vicko) Šoljan, diplomirani ekonomist, član Opće skupštine Hrvatskoga olimpijskog odbora, posebno zaslužan za razvoj sportova, osobito plivanja, u svom Starom Gradu i na otoku Hvaru.

Njegove najveće zasluge vezane su uz razvoj upravo daljinskog plivanja, kako na otoku Hvaru i u Dalmaciji, tako i diljem Hrvatske ali i u međunarodnom sportskom okruženju.

Utemeljio je 1976. plivački “Faros Maraton” koji je tijekom godina postao jedan od velikih svjetskih sportskih događaja. Vodio je niz godina Odbor za daljinsko plivanje unutar Hrvatskoga plivačkog saveza. Bio je najzaslužniji za osnivanje samostalnoga Hrvatskog saveza daljinskog plivanja, čiji je bio predsjednik i izbornik reprezentacije.
