Splitsko čekanje na košarkaški trofej se nastavlja. Ove sezone "žuti" su imali dvije prilike okončati sušu - u Kupu Krešimira Ćosića i domaćem prvenstvu - no u oba navrata u finalu ih je zaustavio Zadar. Naslov prvaka iz 2003. i osvojeni Kup 2004. još će neko vrijeme ostati posljednji istinski slavljenički trenuci na Gripama.
- Izgubili smo od bolje momčadi. U tri zadarske utakmice nismo bili ni blizu. "Zakuhali" smo malo seriju, ali realno su oni korak ispred nas. Osjetila se prevaga u fizičkom segmentu i skoku - realan je u završnoj ocjeni za "Slobodnu" bio Roko Leni Ukić, jedini u splitskom sastavu koji je u majstorici zaslužio prolaznu ocjenu (18 koševa). Dao je sve što je imao, ali nije mogao sam.
- Veći je problem obrana nego manjak raspoloženih igrača u napadu. Sad smo primili 49 koševa do poluvremena, to je puno - smatra veteran Ukić (36) koji nije uspio zaokružiti svoj povratak na Gripe osvajanjem naslova prvaka. Bila bi to prava bajka, no Zadar je jednostavno bio bolji.
Ni u jednoj od zadarskih utakmica Split nije ubacio više od 58 koševa.
- To možda i nije slučajno. Što zbog gostujućeg terena, što zbog njihove dobre obrane, nismo imali dobar šut.
Publiku ste tražili, publiku ste i dobili?
- Ma dobro, i bez publike su nas razbili u prvoj utakmici. Meni je drago što su navijači došli jer sam nakon dugo vremena osjetio adrenalin koji ti samo publika može dati. Što se epidemiološkog okvira tiče, to ću prepustiti drugima, haha. Ja sam sportaš i volim pune tribine.
Kako biste ocijenili sezonu Splita?
- Iz moje perspektive minus četiri, ali iz perspektive kluba ta je ocjena sigurno viša budući da se prije pet godina borio za ostanak u našoj ligi. Dva finala i ostanak u ABA Ligi velik su korak naprijed koji nije ostvaren preko noći. Zadar je već neko vrijeme po ulaganjima i logistici ispred Splita i možda nije ni bilo realno da ga odmah nadigramo.
Sljedeći iskorak bio bi stabilizacija u sredini ABA Lige?
- Nije to lagano. ABA Liga je jaka, gotovo pola klubova igra u Europi. Budžeti su im po nekoliko milijuna eura, a i za razliku od njih mi moramo igrati domaće prvenstvo od početka. Dok god se to ne promijeni, a budžeti ne povećaju, bojim se da će svi naši klubovi i dalje biti u donjem dijelu ABA Lige.
Navijači Splita voljeli bi da ostanete na Gripama i u novoj sezoni, a kakvi su vaši planovi?
- Mislio sam da će mi ovo biti zadnja sezona, no vidim da sam i dalje dobar. Gušt mi je ovdje i primarno razmišljam o Splitu, ali bi se morao napraviti iskorak. Klub raste i šteta bi bila ne iskoristiti ovu sezonu kao zamah za nešto još ambicioznije. Ako se ostvare ti kriteriji, volio bih ostati, ali isto tako ne mogu isključiti mogućnost drugog scenarija jer sam do sada često sebe znao iznenaditi odlukama.
Slijedi reprezentacija, kvalifikacije za Olimpijske igre?
- Ako Bojan (op.a. Bogdanović) ne bude s nama, bit će nam jako teško. Ne samo zbog koševa, već i zbog energije i strasti s kojom igra. Naravno da bismo se i bez njega borili, ali nastojim biti realan. On je nenadoknadiv.

Splitsko čekanje na košarkaški trofej se nastavlja. Ove sezone "žuti" su imali dvije prilike okončati sušu - u Kupu Krešimira Ćosića i domaćem prvenstvu - no u oba navrata u finalu ih je zaustavio Zadar. Naslov prvaka iz 2003. i osvojeni Kup 2004. još će neko vrijeme ostati posljednji istinski slavljenički trenuci na Gripama.
- Izgubili smo od bolje momčadi. U tri zadarske utakmice nismo bili ni blizu. "Zakuhali" smo malo seriju, ali realno su oni korak ispred nas. Osjetila se prevaga u fizičkom segmentu i skoku - realan je u završnoj ocjeni za "Slobodnu" bio Roko Leni Ukić, jedini u splitskom sastavu koji je u majstorici zaslužio prolaznu ocjenu (18 koševa). Dao je sve što je imao, ali nije mogao sam.
- Veći je problem obrana nego manjak raspoloženih igrača u napadu. Sad smo primili 49 koševa do poluvremena, to je puno - smatra veteran Ukić (36) koji nije uspio zaokružiti svoj povratak na Gripe osvajanjem naslova prvaka. Bila bi to prava bajka, no Zadar je jednostavno bio bolji.
Ni u jednoj od zadarskih utakmica Split nije ubacio više od 58 koševa.
- To možda i nije slučajno. Što zbog gostujućeg terena, što zbog njihove dobre obrane, nismo imali dobar šut.
Publiku ste tražili, publiku ste i dobili?
- Ma dobro, i bez publike su nas razbili u prvoj utakmici. Meni je drago što su navijači došli jer sam nakon dugo vremena osjetio adrenalin koji ti samo publika može dati. Što se epidemiološkog okvira tiče, to ću prepustiti drugima, haha. Ja sam sportaš i volim pune tribine.
Kako biste ocijenili sezonu Splita?
- Iz moje perspektive minus četiri, ali iz perspektive kluba ta je ocjena sigurno viša budući da se prije pet godina borio za ostanak u našoj ligi. Dva finala i ostanak u ABA Ligi velik su korak naprijed koji nije ostvaren preko noći. Zadar je već neko vrijeme po ulaganjima i logistici ispred Splita i možda nije ni bilo realno da ga odmah nadigramo.
Sljedeći iskorak bio bi stabilizacija u sredini ABA Lige?
- Nije to lagano. ABA Liga je jaka, gotovo pola klubova igra u Europi. Budžeti su im po nekoliko milijuna eura, a i za razliku od njih mi moramo igrati domaće prvenstvo od početka. Dok god se to ne promijeni, a budžeti ne povećaju, bojim se da će svi naši klubovi i dalje biti u donjem dijelu ABA Lige.
Navijači Splita voljeli bi da ostanete na Gripama i u novoj sezoni, a kakvi su vaši planovi?
- Mislio sam da će mi ovo biti zadnja sezona, no vidim da sam i dalje dobar. Gušt mi je ovdje i primarno razmišljam o Splitu, ali bi se morao napraviti iskorak. Klub raste i šteta bi bila ne iskoristiti ovu sezonu kao zamah za nešto još ambicioznije. Ako se ostvare ti kriteriji, volio bih ostati, ali isto tako ne mogu isključiti mogućnost drugog scenarija jer sam do sada često sebe znao iznenaditi odlukama.
Slijedi reprezentacija, kvalifikacije za Olimpijske igre?
- Ako Bojan (op.a. Bogdanović) ne bude s nama, bit će nam jako teško. Ne samo zbog koševa, već i zbog energije i strasti s kojom igra. Naravno da bismo se i bez njega borili, ali nastojim biti realan. On je nenadoknadiv.
