Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija (WHO) ažurirala je svoje smjernice u petak i preporučila da vlade potaknu stanovništvo da nosi maske na javnim mjestima gdje postoji rizik transmisije koronavirusa.

U novim smjernicama, čiju su izradu potaknuli rezultati studija provedenih u posljednjih nekoliko tjedana, WHO naglašava da su maske samo jedan u nizu alata koji mogu smanjiti rizik transmisije, ali ne bi trebale pružiti lažan osjećaj sigurnosti.

"Savjetujemo vlade da potaknu stanovnike da nose maske. Točnije, neka nose masku od tkanine, to jest, nemedicinsku masku", rekla je za Reuters u intervjuu Maria Van Kerkhove, tehnička voditeljica WHO-a za koronavirus.

"Imamo sada rezultate istraživanja", dodala je.

"Sada imamo dokaze da ako se postave ispravno (maske) mogu biti barijera potencijalno zaraznim kapljicama", navodi Kerkhove.

Dok su neke države i dio američkih saveznih država preporučile ili nametnule nošenje maski u javnosti, WHO je prethodno govorio da nema dovoljno dokaza o (ne)učinkovitosti maski.

Preporučivali su da maske nose bolesni i oni koji za njih brinu.

Ostaje na snazi preporuka da zdravstveni radnici, koji su u kontaktu s osobama koje imaju koronavirus ili se sumnja da ga imaju, nose maske, rekla je Van Kerkhove.

Međutim, ta je preporuka proširena te se savjetuje da svi radnici, koji su u kontaktu s bilo kojim pacijentom ili štićenicima staračkih domova, cijelo vrijeme nose masku, kazala je.

Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija (WHO) ažurirala je svoje smjernice u petak i preporučila da vlade potaknu stanovništvo da nosi maske na javnim mjestima gdje postoji rizik transmisije koronavirusa.

U novim smjernicama, čiju su izradu potaknuli rezultati studija provedenih u posljednjih nekoliko tjedana, WHO naglašava da su maske samo jedan u nizu alata koji mogu smanjiti rizik transmisije, ali ne bi trebale pružiti lažan osjećaj sigurnosti.

"Savjetujemo vlade da potaknu stanovnike da nose maske. Točnije, neka nose masku od tkanine, to jest, nemedicinsku masku", rekla je za Reuters u intervjuu Maria Van Kerkhove, tehnička voditeljica WHO-a za koronavirus.

"Imamo sada rezultate istraživanja", dodala je.

"Sada imamo dokaze da ako se postave ispravno (maske) mogu biti barijera potencijalno zaraznim kapljicama", navodi Kerkhove.

Dok su neke države i dio američkih saveznih država preporučile ili nametnule nošenje maski u javnosti, WHO je prethodno govorio da nema dovoljno dokaza o (ne)učinkovitosti maski.

Preporučivali su da maske nose bolesni i oni koji za njih brinu.

Ostaje na snazi preporuka da zdravstveni radnici, koji su u kontaktu s osobama koje imaju koronavirus ili se sumnja da ga imaju, nose maske, rekla je Van Kerkhove.

Međutim, ta je preporuka proširena te se savjetuje da svi radnici, koji su u kontaktu s bilo kojim pacijentom ili štićenicima staračkih domova, cijelo vrijeme nose masku, kazala je.

Preporučivali su da maske nose bolesni i oni koji za njih brinu.

Ostaje na snazi preporuka da zdravstveni radnici, koji su u kontaktu s osobama koje imaju koronavirus ili se sumnja da ga imaju, nose maske, rekla je Van Kerkhove.

Međutim, ta je preporuka proširena te se savjetuje da svi radnici, koji su u kontaktu s bilo kojim pacijentom ili štićenicima staračkih domova, cijelo vrijeme nose masku, kazala je.
