New York, američki grad najviše pogođen pandemijom koronavirusa, zabilježio je 30.258 smrtnih slučajeva od covida-19 i u nedjelju je godinu dana od početka pandemije odao počast umrlima.

"Više je izgubljenih života Njujorčana nego u Drugom svjetskom ratu, ratu u Vijetnamu, uraganu Sandy i 11. rujna zajedno.

Pandemija je svaku obitelj na neki način dotakla, a za toliko njih je bol prevelika", rekao je gradonačelnik New Yorka Bill de Blasio tijekom virtualne ceremonije uživo, nakon što je minutom šutnje odana počast žrtvama pandemije koronavirusa.

Demokratski gradonačelnik skrenuo je pozornost i na "zdravstvene heroje" koji su "spasili živote", ponekad sami plativši cijenu.

Također je pozvao Njujorčane da se prisjete nekih boljih vremena.

"Bez obzira na to što se dogodi, nitko ne može oduzeti plesove koje ste već plesali", citirao je  na španjolskom jeziku kolumbijskog književnika Gabriela Garciju Marqueza, u gradu u kojem je trećina imigranata iz Latinske Amerike. 

Virtualna ceremonija započela je kratkim programom Njujorške filharmonije ispred zapaljenih svijeća na znamenitom Brooklynskom mostu, u prohladnoj i vjetrovitoj noći.

Na mostu su bile projicirane velike crno-bijele fotografije žrtava.

Održani su govori vjerskih vođa, mladog pjesnika i nastup Hezekiaha Walkera, pastora te popularnog gospel umjetnika, u pratnji zbora.

New York, američki grad najviše pogođen pandemijom koronavirusa, zabilježio je 30.258 smrtnih slučajeva od covida-19 i u nedjelju je godinu dana od početka pandemije odao počast umrlima.

"Više je izgubljenih života Njujorčana nego u Drugom svjetskom ratu, ratu u Vijetnamu, uraganu Sandy i 11. rujna zajedno.

Pandemija je svaku obitelj na neki način dotakla, a za toliko njih je bol prevelika", rekao je gradonačelnik New Yorka Bill de Blasio tijekom virtualne ceremonije uživo, nakon što je minutom šutnje odana počast žrtvama pandemije koronavirusa.

Demokratski gradonačelnik skrenuo je pozornost i na "zdravstvene heroje" koji su "spasili živote", ponekad sami plativši cijenu.

Također je pozvao Njujorčane da se prisjete nekih boljih vremena.

"Bez obzira na to što se dogodi, nitko ne može oduzeti plesove koje ste već plesali", citirao je  na španjolskom jeziku kolumbijskog književnika Gabriela Garciju Marqueza, u gradu u kojem je trećina imigranata iz Latinske Amerike. 

Virtualna ceremonija započela je kratkim programom Njujorške filharmonije ispred zapaljenih svijeća na znamenitom Brooklynskom mostu, u prohladnoj i vjetrovitoj noći.

Na mostu su bile projicirane velike crno-bijele fotografije žrtava.

Održani su govori vjerskih vođa, mladog pjesnika i nastup Hezekiaha Walkera, pastora te popularnog gospel umjetnika, u pratnji zbora.

Od posljedica koronavirusa preminulo je više Njujorčana nego u Drugom svjetskom ratu, Vijetnamskom ratu i napadima na ‘blizance‘ zajedno

New York, američki grad najviše pogođen pandemijom koronavirusa, zabilježio je 30.258 smrtnih slučajeva od covida-19 i u nedjelju je godinu dana od početka pandemije odao počast umrlima.

"Više je izgubljenih života Njujorčana nego u Drugom svjetskom ratu, ratu u Vijetnamu, uraganu Sandy i 11. rujna zajedno.

Pandemija je svaku obitelj na neki način dotakla, a za toliko njih je bol prevelika", rekao je gradonačelnik New Yorka Bill de Blasio tijekom virtualne ceremonije uživo, nakon što je minutom šutnje odana počast žrtvama pandemije koronavirusa.

Demokratski gradonačelnik skrenuo je pozornost i na "zdravstvene heroje" koji su "spasili živote", ponekad sami plativši cijenu.

Također je pozvao Njujorčane da se prisjete nekih boljih vremena.

"Bez obzira na to što se dogodi, nitko ne može oduzeti plesove koje ste već plesali", citirao je  na španjolskom jeziku kolumbijskog književnika Gabriela Garciju Marqueza, u gradu u kojem je trećina imigranata iz Latinske Amerike. 

Virtualna ceremonija započela je kratkim programom Njujorške filharmonije ispred zapaljenih svijeća na znamenitom Brooklynskom mostu, u prohladnoj i vjetrovitoj noći.

Na mostu su bile projicirane velike crno-bijele fotografije žrtava.

Održani su govori vjerskih vođa, mladog pjesnika i nastup Hezekiaha Walkera, pastora te popularnog gospel umjetnika, u pratnji zbora.
