Razina antitijela na novi koronavirus povećala se i ostala stabilna četiri mjeseca kod više od 90 posto pacijenata na Islandu koji su preboljeli Covid 19, pokazala je studija objavljena u utorak.
Prethodne su studije pokazale da je razina antitijela znatno pala za samo nekoliko mjeseci nakon oporavka od Covida 19, zbog čega se postavljalo pitanje trajanja stečenoga imuniteta.
Novo otkriće moglo bi dovesti do zaključaka vezanih uz ponovno obolijevanje i trajnost cjepiva, rekao je glavni direktor deCode Geneticsa Kari Stefansson koji je vodio istraživanje.
Da bi stekli sliku o tome koliko je ljudi na Islandu bilo zaraženo novim koronavirusom i doznali više o imunitetu nakon oporavka od bolesti, istraživači su mjerili razinu antitijela više od 30 tisuća Islanđana.
Na temelju dobivenih rezultata, procijenili su da je zaraženo bilo oko 1 posto stanovništva. Iz te skupine, 56 posto imalo je dijagnozu potvrđenu standardnim PCR laboratorijskim testom. Kod 14 posto bolest nije službeno dijagnosticirana, ali su bili u karanteni nakon izloženosti virusu. Kod preostalih 30 posto analiza antitijela pokazala je da su prethodno bili zaraženi.
Kod 91 posto od 1215 osoba kojima je zaraza potvrđena PCR testom, razina antitijela je rasla tijekom prva dva mjeseca nakon dijagnoze, a zatim dosegla najvišu točku na kojoj se zadržala, izvijestili su istraživači.
Istraživanje objavljeno u The New England Journal of Medicine, bilo je usredotočeno na homogeno stanovništvo jedne zemlje pa rezultati možda ne bi bili isti u drugim dijelovima svijeta s drukčijim stanovništvom.
Komentar objavljen uz studiju upozorava da nije jasno hoće li antitijela zaštititi oporavljene pacijente od nove infekcije virusom.
No ipak pokazuje da testiranje na antitijela može biti alternativa samom testiranju na infekciju te da može imati bolje rezultate u promatranju populacije, dok zemlje razmatraju mogućnosti sigurnoga otvaranja gospodarstva i škola.

Razina antitijela na novi koronavirus povećala se i ostala stabilna četiri mjeseca kod više od 90 posto pacijenata na Islandu koji su preboljeli Covid 19, pokazala je studija objavljena u utorak.
Prethodne su studije pokazale da je razina antitijela znatno pala za samo nekoliko mjeseci nakon oporavka od Covida 19, zbog čega se postavljalo pitanje trajanja stečenoga imuniteta.
Novo otkriće moglo bi dovesti do zaključaka vezanih uz ponovno obolijevanje i trajnost cjepiva, rekao je glavni direktor deCode Geneticsa Kari Stefansson koji je vodio istraživanje.
Da bi stekli sliku o tome koliko je ljudi na Islandu bilo zaraženo novim koronavirusom i doznali više o imunitetu nakon oporavka od bolesti, istraživači su mjerili razinu antitijela više od 30 tisuća Islanđana.
Na temelju dobivenih rezultata, procijenili su da je zaraženo bilo oko 1 posto stanovništva. Iz te skupine, 56 posto imalo je dijagnozu potvrđenu standardnim PCR laboratorijskim testom. Kod 14 posto bolest nije službeno dijagnosticirana, ali su bili u karanteni nakon izloženosti virusu. Kod preostalih 30 posto analiza antitijela pokazala je da su prethodno bili zaraženi.
Kod 91 posto od 1215 osoba kojima je zaraza potvrđena PCR testom, razina antitijela je rasla tijekom prva dva mjeseca nakon dijagnoze, a zatim dosegla najvišu točku na kojoj se zadržala, izvijestili su istraživači.
Istraživanje objavljeno u The New England Journal of Medicine, bilo je usredotočeno na homogeno stanovništvo jedne zemlje pa rezultati možda ne bi bili isti u drugim dijelovima svijeta s drukčijim stanovništvom.
Komentar objavljen uz studiju upozorava da nije jasno hoće li antitijela zaštititi oporavljene pacijente od nove infekcije virusom.
No ipak pokazuje da testiranje na antitijela može biti alternativa samom testiranju na infekciju te da može imati bolje rezultate u promatranju populacije, dok zemlje razmatraju mogućnosti sigurnoga otvaranja gospodarstva i škola.
