Na blagdan svetog Nikole Tavelića Šibenčanina, u ponedjeljak 14. studenog u Jeruzalemu će se nakon svete mise u franjevačkoj crkvi Ad Cenacullum na Sionu, odžati svečanost otkrivanja kipa prvog hrvatskog sveca.

Nikola Tavelić se rodio oko 1340. godine u plemićkoj obitelji u Šibeniku. U Krešimirovu gradu stupio je u franjevački red. Potom je kao misionar otišao u Bosnu, koja je tada bila uglavnom bogumilska, a onda se po primjeru osnivača svoga reda sv. Frane Asiškog, odvažio na odlučan korak: javno propovijedati Krista u Svetoj zemlji. Radi toga se zajedno s trojicom svoje subraće franjevaca uputio kadiji. Računali su ako uspiju njega obratiti na kršćanstvo, da će tako pridobiti sve Saracene.

Međutim, sva četvorica su osuđena na smrt i, izmrcvarena, podnijela su mučeništvo 14. studenoga 1391. u Jeruzalemu pred Vratima Jafe. Izvršenju smrtne kazne bio je nazočan i fra Gerard Chelvet, gvardijan samostana svetog Spasa na Sionu, uz dvoranu Posljednje večere, gdje je i Tavelić boravio, i gdje će se u dvorištu samostana otkriti njegov kip.

Kip je djelo akademskog kipara Vida Vučaka koji pripada mlađoj generaciji hrvatskih kipara. Umjetnik ga je izradio tako da Nikola u jednoj ruci drži križ, dok s drugom pokazuje na njega i poručuje nam: "U ime ovog križa se živi, a ako treba i umire". "Znamo da je umro mučeničkom smrti, tako što je bio zapaljen, pa mu je vatra jedna od ikonografskih značajki i dio je modelacije kipa", kazivao nam je nakon završetka Tavelićeve skulpture kipar Vučak.

Prije dvije godine kip Nikole Tavelića je, u povodu pedesete godišnjice njegove kanonizacije - svetim ga je 21. lipnja 1970. u Vatikanu proglasio papa Pavao VI. - blagoslovio šibenski biskup Tomislav Rogić.

Na blagdan svetog Nikole Tavelića Šibenčanina, u ponedjeljak 14. studenog u Jeruzalemu će se nakon svete mise u franjevačkoj crkvi Ad Cenacullum na Sionu, odžati svečanost otkrivanja kipa prvog hrvatskog sveca.

Nikola Tavelić se rodio oko 1340. godine u plemićkoj obitelji u Šibeniku. U Krešimirovu gradu stupio je u franjevački red. Potom je kao misionar otišao u Bosnu, koja je tada bila uglavnom bogumilska, a onda se po primjeru osnivača svoga reda sv. Frane Asiškog, odvažio na odlučan korak: javno propovijedati Krista u Svetoj zemlji. Radi toga se zajedno s trojicom svoje subraće franjevaca uputio kadiji. Računali su ako uspiju njega obratiti na kršćanstvo, da će tako pridobiti sve Saracene.

Međutim, sva četvorica su osuđena na smrt i, izmrcvarena, podnijela su mučeništvo 14. studenoga 1391. u Jeruzalemu pred Vratima Jafe. Izvršenju smrtne kazne bio je nazočan i fra Gerard Chelvet, gvardijan samostana svetog Spasa na Sionu, uz dvoranu Posljednje večere, gdje je i Tavelić boravio, i gdje će se u dvorištu samostana otkriti njegov kip.

Kip je djelo akademskog kipara Vida Vučaka koji pripada mlađoj generaciji hrvatskih kipara. Umjetnik ga je izradio tako da Nikola u jednoj ruci drži križ, dok s drugom pokazuje na njega i poručuje nam: "U ime ovog križa se živi, a ako treba i umire". "Znamo da je umro mučeničkom smrti, tako što je bio zapaljen, pa mu je vatra jedna od ikonografskih značajki i dio je modelacije kipa", kazivao nam je nakon završetka Tavelićeve skulpture kipar Vučak.

Prije dvije godine kip Nikole Tavelića je, u povodu pedesete godišnjice njegove kanonizacije - svetim ga je 21. lipnja 1970. u Vatikanu proglasio papa Pavao VI. - blagoslovio šibenski biskup Tomislav Rogić.

Nikola Tavelić Šibenčanin; Evo kada će biti otkriven kip prvom hrvatskom svecu

Na blagdan svetog Nikole Tavelića Šibenčanina, u ponedjeljak 14. studenog u Jeruzalemu će se nakon svete mise u franjevačkoj crkvi Ad Cenacullum na Sionu, odžati svečanost otkrivanja kipa prvog hrvatskog sveca.

Nikola Tavelić se rodio oko 1340. godine u plemićkoj obitelji u Šibeniku. U Krešimirovu gradu stupio je u franjevački red. Potom je kao misionar otišao u Bosnu, koja je tada bila uglavnom bogumilska, a onda se po primjeru osnivača svoga reda sv. Frane Asiškog, odvažio na odlučan korak: javno propovijedati Krista u Svetoj zemlji. Radi toga se zajedno s trojicom svoje subraće franjevaca uputio kadiji. Računali su ako uspiju njega obratiti na kršćanstvo, da će tako pridobiti sve Saracene.

Međutim, sva četvorica su osuđena na smrt i, izmrcvarena, podnijela su mučeništvo 14. studenoga 1391. u Jeruzalemu pred Vratima Jafe. Izvršenju smrtne kazne bio je nazočan i fra Gerard Chelvet, gvardijan samostana svetog Spasa na Sionu, uz dvoranu Posljednje večere, gdje je i Tavelić boravio, i gdje će se u dvorištu samostana otkriti njegov kip.

Kip je djelo akademskog kipara Vida Vučaka koji pripada mlađoj generaciji hrvatskih kipara. Umjetnik ga je izradio tako da Nikola u jednoj ruci drži križ, dok s drugom pokazuje na njega i poručuje nam: "U ime ovog križa se živi, a ako treba i umire". "Znamo da je umro mučeničkom smrti, tako što je bio zapaljen, pa mu je vatra jedna od ikonografskih značajki i dio je modelacije kipa", kazivao nam je nakon završetka Tavelićeve skulpture kipar Vučak.

Prije dvije godine kip Nikole Tavelića je, u povodu pedesete godišnjice njegove kanonizacije - svetim ga je 21. lipnja 1970. u Vatikanu proglasio papa Pavao VI. - blagoslovio šibenski biskup Tomislav Rogić.

Pod duhovnim vodstvom konventualca fra Tomislava Glavnika, u povodu otkrivanja Tavelićeva kipa, G-tour Međugorje od 9. do 16. studenog organizira hodočašće iz Hrvatske u Svetu zemlju. Sve informacije u svezi hodočašćem mogu se naći na stranici www.gtour-medjugorje.com
