No, ta su stvorenja vrlo stvarna i zbog svog neobičnog načina života postaju tako pojednostavljeni organizmi da bi se uskoro mogli sjediniti s ljudima, pokazala je analiza DNK grinje Demodex folliculorom objavljena u časopisu Molecular Biology and Evolution, piše Jutarnji list.

Grinju Demodex folliculorum nosi praktički svaki čovjek, a njihov se broj povećava s godinama. Duga je oko 0,3 milimetara, a živi unutar folikula dlake na koži lica. Hrani se mrtvim stanicama kože, aktivna je noću kada se kreću između folikula kako bi se parila.

---Znanstvenici sveučilišta Reading i Bangor u suradnji s kolegama iz Valencije, Beča i San Juana sekvencirali su genom grinje Demodex folliculorum te spoznali da je ta vrsta na putu tranzicije, tj. od vanjskog parazita postaje naš unutarnji simbiont.
- Otkrili smo da ove grinje imaju drugačiji raspored gena dijelova tijela od drugih sličnih vrsta jer se prilagođavaju zaštićenom životu unutar pore. Ove promjene u njihovoj DNK rezultirale su nekim neobičnim tjelesnim značajkama i ponašanjima - rekla je za portal EurekAlert! dr. ---Primjerice, znanstvenici su otkrili da je kod grinje Demodex folliculorum uslijed njezine izoliranosti (zbog čega nije izložena vanjskim prijetnjama) i nedostatka susreta s drugim grinjama različitih gena došlo do genske redukcije. To je dovelo do toga da je D. folliculorum postao iznimno jednostavan organizam sa sićušnim nogama koje pokreću samo tri jednostanična mišića. Demodex folliculorum preživljava minimalnim repertoarom proteina i to najmanjim brojem proteina ikada viđenim u ovoj i srodnim vrstama. "Ovo smanjenje gena razlog je i njihova noćnog ponašanja. Grinjama nedostaje zaštita od ultraljubičastog zračenja i izgubile su gen koji uzrokuje da se životinje probude na dnevnom svjetlu", naveli su znanstvenici.
Njihov jedinstveni raspored gena, također, rezultira neobičnim navikama u parenju. "Reproduktivni organi grinje D. folliculorum pomaknuli su se prema naprijed, a mužjaci imaju penis koji strši prema gore iz prednjeg dijela tijela. To znači da se moraju postaviti ispod ženke kada se pare i kopuliraju dok se oboje drže za ljudsku kosu", zaključili su znanstvenici, piše Jutarnji list.

---Primjerice, znanstvenici su otkrili da je kod grinje Demodex folliculorum uslijed njezine izoliranosti (zbog čega nije izložena vanjskim prijetnjama) i nedostatka susreta s drugim grinjama različitih gena došlo do genske redukcije. To je dovelo do toga da je D. folliculorum postao iznimno jednostavan organizam sa sićušnim nogama koje pokreću samo tri jednostanična mišića. Demodex folliculorum preživljava minimalnim repertoarom proteina i to najmanjim brojem proteina ikada viđenim u ovoj i srodnim vrstama. "Ovo smanjenje gena razlog je i njihova noćnog ponašanja. Grinjama nedostaje zaštita od ultraljubičastog zračenja i izgubile su gen koji uzrokuje da se životinje probude na dnevnom svjetlu", naveli su znanstvenici.
Njihov jedinstveni raspored gena, također, rezultira neobičnim navikama u parenju. "Reproduktivni organi grinje D. folliculorum pomaknuli su se prema naprijed, a mužjaci imaju penis koji strši prema gore iz prednjeg dijela tijela. To znači da se moraju postaviti ispod ženke kada se pare i kopuliraju dok se oboje drže za ljudsku kosu", zaključili su znanstvenici, piše Jutarnji list.

Ideja da grinje mikroskopskih dimenzija žive u porama naše kože te se noću pare na našem licu dok spavamo čini se kao scenarij za novi horor film. No, ta su stvorenja vrlo stvarna i zbog svog neobičnog načina života postaju tako pojednostavljeni organizmi da bi se uskoro mogli sjediniti s ljudima, pokazala je analiza DNK grinje Demodex folliculorom objavljena u časopisu Molecular Biology and Evolution, piše Jutarnji list.
Grinju Demodex folliculorum nosi praktički svaki čovjek, a njihov se broj povećava s godinama. Duga je oko 0,3 milimetara, a živi unutar folikula dlake na koži lica. Hrani se mrtvim stanicama kože, aktivna je noću kada se kreću između folikula kako bi se parila.
