"Pomozite mi da se sjetim." – "Sjećanja ubojice" (2022.)

Malčice se zaletio Martin Campbell, redatelj novog akcijskog trilera Liama Neesona "Sjećanja ubojice" ("Memory"), kad je u friškom intervjuu kritizirao recentne akcije. U tom intervjuu Campbell je razmjerno pohvalio novog "Batmana" i "Hitnu pomoć", a najviše se obrušio na "Brze i žestoke 9". To je u redu, ali njegova najveća zamjerka bila je da su akcijske scene besmislene i apsurdne, nevezane za likove, sušta suprotnost uvjerljivoj akciji "Umri muški 1".

Kritika je prilično ironična, da ne kažemo i licemjerna: Campbellovo "Zlatno oko" namiguje "Fast&Furious" scenama sa suludom uvodnom akcijskom sekvencijom u kojoj James Bond skače s litice na motociklu i hvata avion u letu. Ipak, otad naovamo, ne računajući "Vertical Limit" i nes(p)pretni superherojski blockbuster "Green Lantern", tek djelomično i dva "Zorroa", Campbell je nastojao njegovati svedeniji pristup akciji, čak i kad je režirao "Casino Royale", svoj drugi Bond-film.

Naime, "Na rubu tame", "Stranac" i "Plaćenica" su akcijski trileri, nipošto akcijski blockbusteri kao "Goldeneye", "Vertical Limit" ili "Casino Royale".

Možda tako ne bi bilo da Campbell još uvijek operira unutar visokog budžeta, ali filmovi "A" produkcije i masivnih proračuna iz trezora najvećih hollywoodskih studija izmiču ovom redatelju nakon kraha "Green Lanterna".

No, posljednjih godina Campbell djeluje u domeni "B" produkcije i srednjeg budžeta (otkriva li ona kritika blagu ljubomoru na proračune "Brzih i žestokih"?) i bilo mu je suđeno da se prije ili kasnije udruži s neumornim Neesonom, vodećim glumcem akcijskih "mid-budget" trilera od 2008. otkako je snimio "96 sati". Obojica su trebali jedan drugome, reklo bi se.

Neeson je trebao Campbellu da redatelj možebitno ne otkliže dalje u "direktno-na-video" produkciju. Campbell je trebao Neesonu kao najbolji akcijski filmaš s kojim je surađivao nakon Joea Carnahana ("Opstanak", "A-Team") i Jaumea-Colleta Serre ("Noćna potjera", "Putnik", "Non Stop").

Ovaj režiser je za klasu iznad jednog Oliviera Megatona ("96 sati: Istanbul", "96 sati: U bijegu"), Marka Williamsa ("Pokajnik", "U sjeni zavjere"), Roberta Lorenza ("Zaštitnik"), Scotta Franka ("Šetnja među grobovima") i Jonathana Hansleigha ("Ledena cesta"), čak i kad akciju režira "lijevom rukom", kao što ju je režirao u "Sjećanju ubojice".

"Memory" je film rutinske izvedbe i vizualno-scenografski počesto djeluje kao jeftnjikavi akcijski triler videotečne vrste s lažnim eksplozijama i falšim lokacijama (Bugarska povremeno glumi Teksas), ali Campbell se trudi da mu podari mrvu kakvog-takvog stila i da za Neesona predstavlja barem mali korak naprijed nakon njegovog posljednjeg i najslabijeg uratka "Blacklight", u čemu uglavnom i uspijeva.

Pa opet, Neeson u konačnici prolazi bolje od Campbella u "Sjećanju ubojice", remakeu belgijskog trilera "The Alzheimer Case" iz 2003., snimljenom prema istoimenu romanu Jefa Geeraertsa. Ako je akcija mahom skromno uprizorena i nepamtljiva, karakterizacija Neesonova lika Alexa Lewisa svakako čini "Memory" zanimljivijim filmom i prilagođava belgijski izvornik glumcu, što je napravila i njegova prethodna amerikanizacija (superiornija "Hladna osveta") europskog originala ("Redoslijed nestanka").

Upravo je umnogome samoironični "Cold Pursuit" trebao biti Neesonov posljednji akcijski triler pred umirovljenje, no glumac je nastavio nizati slične uratke. "Sjećanja ubojice" na plakatu precrtavaju samoironiju "Hladne osvete". Na posteru piše "Sjećanja mu blijede, savjest mu je čista".

Natpis kao da se odnosi i na samoga Neesona, ne samo njegova lika, koji s "Memory" želi isprati savjest što nastavlja snimati osrednje akcijske trilere i glumi profesionalnog plaćenog ubojicu prevrtljiva sjećanja, načetog uznapredovalim Alzheimerom. Koncept je interesantan iz najmanje dva razloga.

Prvo, Alzheimer je dosad bio predmet drama ("Obitelj Savage", "Ljubav", "I dalje Alice", "Otac") ili eventualno horora ("Relikt"), a ne žanra akcijskog trilera koji je iznjedrio samo junak(inj)e izgubljena sjećanja ("Total Recall", "Pakleni poljubac", serijal o Jasonu Bourneu), uključujući i Neesona u "Ukradenom identitetu". Drugo, s obzirom na Neesonovu poodmaklu dob, neka bolest kod njegovih gerijakcijskih junaka može se očekivati.

Alex je naoko tipičan Neesonov istjerivač pravde sa "setom posebnih vještina" koji razmišlja o mirovini, što je čest motiv glumčevih recentnih filmova. "Treba ti netko drugi, trenutačno ne mogu", govori Alex poslodavcu (Lee Boardman). "Pokušavam ti reći da odustajem", dodaje on. "Jesi li pijan?", pita ga poslodavac. "Ne, samo umoran", odgovara Alex.

"Ne baljezgaj o mirovini, ljudi poput nas se ne umirovljuju", tvrdi tip. Alex na koncu nevoljko prihvaća posljednji posao, ali i odustaje ga izvršiti kad shvati da mora smaknuti i tinejdžerku (Mia Sanchez), kojoj je pokušavao pomoći agent FBI-ja Vincent Serra (solidni Guy Pearce).

Jasno, nakon toga postaje meta, i to "jedne od najmoćnijih tajkunki za nekretnine" Davane Sealman (Monica Bellucci) koja želi curu mrtvu i potkupila je policiju. Standardan zaplet nestandardnim čini mentalno ranjivi junak koji je "na kraju snaga", "gubi sjećanje", "nije pri sebi" i "pije tablete", te zapisuje bilješke na podlakticu kao protagonist "Mementa", ali i policajac John McClane u prvom "Die Hardu".

Angažman Pearcea je link prema "Mementu", neovisno o manjku "mementovske" trilersko-dramske jakosti, a "Sjećanje ubojice" stiže u kina nedugo nakon povlačenja sa scene legende akcije Brucea Willisa zbog pogoršanja kognitivnih sposobnosti uzrokovanih afazijom, čime ljudska drama Neesonova lika, suočena s neminovnim odlaskom, može dodatno rezonirati s fanovima akcijskog žanra.

Sve to čini nešto manje zaboravnim još jedan "neesonovski" akcijski triler za brzi zaborav kojim Neeson pokušava što duže o(p)stati u sjećanju publike. "Smrt je neizbježna, važno je što radiš za života prije nego umreš", kaže Alex i kao da se rukovodi citatom iz "Balkanskog špijuna", baš poput Neesona. "Mene ako se sjete, sjete se, ako se ne sjete, nikom ništa, to je bila moja dužnost, da radim..."

"Pomozite mi da se sjetim." – "Sjećanja ubojice" (2022.)

Malčice se zaletio Martin Campbell, redatelj novog akcijskog trilera Liama Neesona "Sjećanja ubojice" ("Memory"), kad je u friškom intervjuu kritizirao recentne akcije. U tom intervjuu Campbell je razmjerno pohvalio novog "Batmana" i "Hitnu pomoć", a najviše se obrušio na "Brze i žestoke 9". To je u redu, ali njegova najveća zamjerka bila je da su akcijske scene besmislene i apsurdne, nevezane za likove, sušta suprotnost uvjerljivoj akciji "Umri muški 1".

Kritika je prilično ironična, da ne kažemo i licemjerna: Campbellovo "Zlatno oko" namiguje "Fast&Furious" scenama sa suludom uvodnom akcijskom sekvencijom u kojoj James Bond skače s litice na motociklu i hvata avion u letu. Ipak, otad naovamo, ne računajući "Vertical Limit" i nes(p)pretni superherojski blockbuster "Green Lantern", tek djelomično i dva "Zorroa", Campbell je nastojao njegovati svedeniji pristup akciji, čak i kad je režirao "Casino Royale", svoj drugi Bond-film.

Naime, "Na rubu tame", "Stranac" i "Plaćenica" su akcijski trileri, nipošto akcijski blockbusteri kao "Goldeneye", "Vertical Limit" ili "Casino Royale".

Možda tako ne bi bilo da Campbell još uvijek operira unutar visokog budžeta, ali filmovi "A" produkcije i masivnih proračuna iz trezora najvećih hollywoodskih studija izmiču ovom redatelju nakon kraha "Green Lanterna".

No, posljednjih godina Campbell djeluje u domeni "B" produkcije i srednjeg budžeta (otkriva li ona kritika blagu ljubomoru na proračune "Brzih i žestokih"?) i bilo mu je suđeno da se prije ili kasnije udruži s neumornim Neesonom, vodećim glumcem akcijskih "mid-budget" trilera od 2008. otkako je snimio "96 sati". Obojica su trebali jedan drugome, reklo bi se.

Neeson je trebao Campbellu da redatelj možebitno ne otkliže dalje u "direktno-na-video" produkciju. Campbell je trebao Neesonu kao najbolji akcijski filmaš s kojim je surađivao nakon Joea Carnahana ("Opstanak", "A-Team") i Jaumea-Colleta Serre ("Noćna potjera", "Putnik", "Non Stop").

Ovaj režiser je za klasu iznad jednog Oliviera Megatona ("96 sati: Istanbul", "96 sati: U bijegu"), Marka Williamsa ("Pokajnik", "U sjeni zavjere"), Roberta Lorenza ("Zaštitnik"), Scotta Franka ("Šetnja među grobovima") i Jonathana Hansleigha ("Ledena cesta"), čak i kad akciju režira "lijevom rukom", kao što ju je režirao u "Sjećanju ubojice".

"Memory" je film rutinske izvedbe i vizualno-scenografski počesto djeluje kao jeftnjikavi akcijski triler videotečne vrste s lažnim eksplozijama i falšim lokacijama (Bugarska povremeno glumi Teksas), ali Campbell se trudi da mu podari mrvu kakvog-takvog stila i da za Neesona predstavlja barem mali korak naprijed nakon njegovog posljednjeg i najslabijeg uratka "Blacklight", u čemu uglavnom i uspijeva.

Pa opet, Neeson u konačnici prolazi bolje od Campbella u "Sjećanju ubojice", remakeu belgijskog trilera "The Alzheimer Case" iz 2003., snimljenom prema istoimenu romanu Jefa Geeraertsa. Ako je akcija mahom skromno uprizorena i nepamtljiva, karakterizacija Neesonova lika Alexa Lewisa svakako čini "Memory" zanimljivijim filmom i prilagođava belgijski izvornik glumcu, što je napravila i njegova prethodna amerikanizacija (superiornija "Hladna osveta") europskog originala ("Redoslijed nestanka").

Upravo je umnogome samoironični "Cold Pursuit" trebao biti Neesonov posljednji akcijski triler pred umirovljenje, no glumac je nastavio nizati slične uratke. "Sjećanja ubojice" na plakatu precrtavaju samoironiju "Hladne osvete". Na posteru piše "Sjećanja mu blijede, savjest mu je čista".

Natpis kao da se odnosi i na samoga Neesona, ne samo njegova lika, koji s "Memory" želi isprati savjest što nastavlja snimati osrednje akcijske trilere i glumi profesionalnog plaćenog ubojicu prevrtljiva sjećanja, načetog uznapredovalim Alzheimerom. Koncept je interesantan iz najmanje dva razloga.

Prvo, Alzheimer je dosad bio predmet drama ("Obitelj Savage", "Ljubav", "I dalje Alice", "Otac") ili eventualno horora ("Relikt"), a ne žanra akcijskog trilera koji je iznjedrio samo junak(inj)e izgubljena sjećanja ("Total Recall", "Pakleni poljubac", serijal o Jasonu Bourneu), uključujući i Neesona u "Ukradenom identitetu". Drugo, s obzirom na Neesonovu poodmaklu dob, neka bolest kod njegovih gerijakcijskih junaka može se očekivati.

Alex je naoko tipičan Neesonov istjerivač pravde sa "setom posebnih vještina" koji razmišlja o mirovini, što je čest motiv glumčevih recentnih filmova. "Treba ti netko drugi, trenutačno ne mogu", govori Alex poslodavcu (Lee Boardman). "Pokušavam ti reći da odustajem", dodaje on. "Jesi li pijan?", pita ga poslodavac. "Ne, samo umoran", odgovara Alex.

"Ne baljezgaj o mirovini, ljudi poput nas se ne umirovljuju", tvrdi tip. Alex na koncu nevoljko prihvaća posljednji posao, ali i odustaje ga izvršiti kad shvati da mora smaknuti i tinejdžerku (Mia Sanchez), kojoj je pokušavao pomoći agent FBI-ja Vincent Serra (solidni Guy Pearce).

Jasno, nakon toga postaje meta, i to "jedne od najmoćnijih tajkunki za nekretnine" Davane Sealman (Monica Bellucci) koja želi curu mrtvu i potkupila je policiju. Standardan zaplet nestandardnim čini mentalno ranjivi junak koji je "na kraju snaga", "gubi sjećanje", "nije pri sebi" i "pije tablete", te zapisuje bilješke na podlakticu kao protagonist "Mementa", ali i policajac John McClane u prvom "Die Hardu".

Angažman Pearcea je link prema "Mementu", neovisno o manjku "mementovske" trilersko-dramske jakosti, a "Sjećanje ubojice" stiže u kina nedugo nakon povlačenja sa scene legende akcije Brucea Willisa zbog pogoršanja kognitivnih sposobnosti uzrokovanih afazijom, čime ljudska drama Neesonova lika, suočena s neminovnim odlaskom, može dodatno rezonirati s fanovima akcijskog žanra.

Sve to čini nešto manje zaboravnim još jedan "neesonovski" akcijski triler za brzi zaborav kojim Neeson pokušava što duže o(p)stati u sjećanju publike. "Smrt je neizbježna, važno je što radiš za života prije nego umreš", kaže Alex i kao da se rukovodi citatom iz "Balkanskog špijuna", baš poput Neesona. "Mene ako se sjete, sjete se, ako se ne sjete, nikom ništa, to je bila moja dužnost, da radim..."
