Zaredao je redatelj i scenarist Aaron Sorkin dva filma prema istinitoj priči koji su nominirani za Zlatne globuse. Prošle godine bio je to Netflixov "The Trial Of The Chicago 7", ove Amazonov "Being The Ricardos". "Čikaška sedmorka" se na kraju dobacila i do oskarovskih nominacija, a njezin trag bi mogao slijediti i Sorkinov treći redateljski film (prvijenac "Velika igra").

Nominacije bi mogle biti identične kao kod Zlatnih globusa – za glumu Nicole Kidman i Javiera Bardema u ulogama komičarke Lucille Ball i njezina bračnog/poslovnog partnera Desija Arnaza, te Sorkinov scenarij, možda i najbolji film. Akademija još uvijek voli biografske filmove ("Kraljev govor", "Teorija svega", "Lincoln", "Prijelomni čas"...), posebice ako su o ljubimcima Amerike (npr. "Judy"), a "Being The Ricardos" definitivno odgovara tom opisu.

U prvom planu priče je "kraljica 'B' filmova" koja je postala najveća TV zvijezda pedesetih zahvaljujući popularnom, pa i televizijski prijelomnom, crno-bijelom CBS-ovu sitcomu "I Love Lucy" o bračnom paru Lucy i Ricky Ricardo.

"Ja sam Lucille Ball – kad budem duhovita, znat ćete", kaže ona u jednoj sceni i ukratko sumira "Being The Ricardos".

Iako se otvara nasnimljenim smijehom publike i likovi često govore "to je (bila) šala", ovo nije komedija o komičarskoj personi, prije drama ili, ajde, komična drama, kao što su to bili, recimo, "Čovjek na Mjesecu" i "Stanlio i Olio". Potvrđuju to i nominacije za Zlatni globus: Kidman i Bardem su, znakovito, predloženi u kategoriji drame, a ne komedije ili mjuzikla.

Sorkin je u ulozi scenarista ("Steve Jobs") osvojio Oscara za "Društvenu mrežu" i bio više puta nominiran za zlatni kipić (od "Igre pobjednika" nadalje), a kao redatelj je počeo njegovati fini "spielbergovski" dramski oskarovski sentiment i osjećaj za neku važnu temu iz prošlosti s ehom u sadašnjosti, vidljiv i u ovom filmu.

Još uvijek bolji kao scenarist nego redatelj, Sorkin je, svejedno, uz najveću pomoć dovitljive, nikad zaigranije Kidmanice, orkestrirao nekoliko vrlo dojmljivih sekvencija verbalne i tjelesne komedije, poput tranzicija iz kolora u crno-bijelu sliku.

Dok radi na scenariju s maksimalnim perfekcionizmom i autorstvom, Ball zamišlja kako bi pojedina scena mogla izgledati – i izgledat će, na koncu – u sitcomu, bilo da u njoj glumi sama, sa suprugom ili kolegama Williamom Frawleyjem i Vivian Vance (oskarovac J.K. Simmons i Nina Arianda, oboje odlični).

To su najbolji trenuci vrijednog i poštenog filma za zreliju publiku koji je, međutim, preopterećen važnim temama za vlastito dobro i najveću ocjenu. "I Love Lucy" je, sam po sebi, bio iznimno bitan sitcom za zlatno doba televizije i budućnost TV-a općenito kao tehnološki inventivan projekt, ujedno i razbijač tabua.

Osim što je patentirao snimanje s tri kamere, "I Love Lucy" je prvi angažirao latino glumca/Kubanca u ulozi ravnopravnoj bijeloj glumici (aktualni diverzitet) i pionirski postavio trudnu ženu u kadar, protiv čega su se isprve bunili producenti.

Sve to je bilo više nego dovoljno za film, ali Sorkin je, k tome, naglasio da se radnja odvija u vrijeme makartizma, tj. kolektivne komunističke paranoje u Hollywoodu, kad je i Ball bila optužena da je članica partije, što je na naslovnici novina otisnuto crvenom bojom.

Uz to, Lucille dobiva otkaz od studija RKO pod izlikom da je, s 39 godina, prestara da glumi u filmovima (aktualna dobna diskriminacija), ona se bori da je shvate ozbiljno kao glumicu, trudna je i njezina bračna luka s Desijem nalazi se pod naletom oluje zbog tabloidnih medijskih napisa o suprugovim aferama.

Toliko društvenih, političkih, profesionalnih i privatnih turbulencija jako je teško izbalansirati režijski, a Sorkinu definitivno nije trebalo uvođenje starijih verzija likova, poput scenarista "I Love Lucy" Boba Carrolla i Madelyn Pugh (Ronny Cox, Linda Lavin), koji u intervju formi lažnog dokumentarca pripovijedaju o nekadašnjim događajima i odvraćaju pažnju od središnje priče.

Ipak, Kidman glumački uspijeva sve to pomiriti kao "kinetički talentirana" Ball kojoj odgovara Sorkinovo kinetičko, rafalno pisanje i njegova ljubav prema pametnim, brzomislećim likovima koji nekad znaju ljudski zastati i izgubiti se na trenutak. Jedno od najvećih pitanja sezone bit će može li Nicole, u jednoj od najboljih uloga karijere, doći do drugog Oscara.

Serija "I Love Lucy" se pojavila u nekoliko filmova, kao npr. u "Krokodilu Dundeeju" kad je na TV-u nakon dugo vremena opet ugleda junak Mick.

Zaredao je redatelj i scenarist Aaron Sorkin dva filma prema istinitoj priči koji su nominirani za Zlatne globuse. Prošle godine bio je to Netflixov "The Trial Of The Chicago 7", ove Amazonov "Being The Ricardos". "Čikaška sedmorka" se na kraju dobacila i do oskarovskih nominacija, a njezin trag bi mogao slijediti i Sorkinov treći redateljski film (prvijenac "Velika igra").

Nominacije bi mogle biti identične kao kod Zlatnih globusa – za glumu Nicole Kidman i Javiera Bardema u ulogama komičarke Lucille Ball i njezina bračnog/poslovnog partnera Desija Arnaza, te Sorkinov scenarij, možda i najbolji film. Akademija još uvijek voli biografske filmove ("Kraljev govor", "Teorija svega", "Lincoln", "Prijelomni čas"...), posebice ako su o ljubimcima Amerike (npr. "Judy"), a "Being The Ricardos" definitivno odgovara tom opisu.

U prvom planu priče je "kraljica 'B' filmova" koja je postala najveća TV zvijezda pedesetih zahvaljujući popularnom, pa i televizijski prijelomnom, crno-bijelom CBS-ovu sitcomu "I Love Lucy" o bračnom paru Lucy i Ricky Ricardo.

"Ja sam Lucille Ball – kad budem duhovita, znat ćete", kaže ona u jednoj sceni i ukratko sumira "Being The Ricardos".

Iako se otvara nasnimljenim smijehom publike i likovi često govore "to je (bila) šala", ovo nije komedija o komičarskoj personi, prije drama ili, ajde, komična drama, kao što su to bili, recimo, "Čovjek na Mjesecu" i "Stanlio i Olio". Potvrđuju to i nominacije za Zlatni globus: Kidman i Bardem su, znakovito, predloženi u kategoriji drame, a ne komedije ili mjuzikla.

Sorkin je u ulozi scenarista ("Steve Jobs") osvojio Oscara za "Društvenu mrežu" i bio više puta nominiran za zlatni kipić (od "Igre pobjednika" nadalje), a kao redatelj je počeo njegovati fini "spielbergovski" dramski oskarovski sentiment i osjećaj za neku važnu temu iz prošlosti s ehom u sadašnjosti, vidljiv i u ovom filmu.

Još uvijek bolji kao scenarist nego redatelj, Sorkin je, svejedno, uz najveću pomoć dovitljive, nikad zaigranije Kidmanice, orkestrirao nekoliko vrlo dojmljivih sekvencija verbalne i tjelesne komedije, poput tranzicija iz kolora u crno-bijelu sliku.

Dok radi na scenariju s maksimalnim perfekcionizmom i autorstvom, Ball zamišlja kako bi pojedina scena mogla izgledati – i izgledat će, na koncu – u sitcomu, bilo da u njoj glumi sama, sa suprugom ili kolegama Williamom Frawleyjem i Vivian Vance (oskarovac J.K. Simmons i Nina Arianda, oboje odlični).

To su najbolji trenuci vrijednog i poštenog filma za zreliju publiku koji je, međutim, preopterećen važnim temama za vlastito dobro i najveću ocjenu. "I Love Lucy" je, sam po sebi, bio iznimno bitan sitcom za zlatno doba televizije i budućnost TV-a općenito kao tehnološki inventivan projekt, ujedno i razbijač tabua.

Osim što je patentirao snimanje s tri kamere, "I Love Lucy" je prvi angažirao latino glumca/Kubanca u ulozi ravnopravnoj bijeloj glumici (aktualni diverzitet) i pionirski postavio trudnu ženu u kadar, protiv čega su se isprve bunili producenti.

Sve to je bilo više nego dovoljno za film, ali Sorkin je, k tome, naglasio da se radnja odvija u vrijeme makartizma, tj. kolektivne komunističke paranoje u Hollywoodu, kad je i Ball bila optužena da je članica partije, što je na naslovnici novina otisnuto crvenom bojom.

Uz to, Lucille dobiva otkaz od studija RKO pod izlikom da je, s 39 godina, prestara da glumi u filmovima (aktualna dobna diskriminacija), ona se bori da je shvate ozbiljno kao glumicu, trudna je i njezina bračna luka s Desijem nalazi se pod naletom oluje zbog tabloidnih medijskih napisa o suprugovim aferama.

Toliko društvenih, političkih, profesionalnih i privatnih turbulencija jako je teško izbalansirati režijski, a Sorkinu definitivno nije trebalo uvođenje starijih verzija likova, poput scenarista "I Love Lucy" Boba Carrolla i Madelyn Pugh (Ronny Cox, Linda Lavin), koji u intervju formi lažnog dokumentarca pripovijedaju o nekadašnjim događajima i odvraćaju pažnju od središnje priče.

Ipak, Kidman glumački uspijeva sve to pomiriti kao "kinetički talentirana" Ball kojoj odgovara Sorkinovo kinetičko, rafalno pisanje i njegova ljubav prema pametnim, brzomislećim likovima koji nekad znaju ljudski zastati i izgubiti se na trenutak. Jedno od najvećih pitanja sezone bit će može li Nicole, u jednoj od najboljih uloga karijere, doći do drugog Oscara.

Serija "I Love Lucy" se pojavila u nekoliko filmova, kao npr. u "Krokodilu Dundeeju" kad je na TV-u nakon dugo vremena opet ugleda junak Mick.
