"Sva djeca će mu znati ime, dečko će se proslaviti", najavljivali su odrasli likovi s početka filma "Harry Potter i kamen mudraca" ("Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone", 2001.), profesorica McGonagall i profesor Dumbledore u divnom tumačenju Maggie Smith i Richarda Harrisa. Bilo je to prije točno 20 godina.

Dečko se u međuvremenu definitivno proslavio, kako Harry Potter, tako i njegov tumač Daniel Radcliffe, a sva djeca mu/im znaju ime. Potteru je bilo suđeno da postane slavan, veliki čarobnjak, kao i filmu da se prometne u veliki kinohit. "Harry Potter i kamen mudraca" se pretvorio u blockbuster-senzaciju u kinima u drugoj polovici studenoga 2001. godine.

S dotad najboljim vikend-otvaranjem u Americi (90 milijuna $) i zaradom od milijardu dolara u svijetu inicirao je megafranšizu od ukupno osam filmova prema sedam romana J.K. Rowling koja je u to doba objavila samo prve četiri knjige.

McGonagall i Dumbledore su znali što govore kad su predavali Harryja u nesigurne ruke njegove jedine obitelji koju ima, Dursleyjevih, jer "bolje da odraste daleko od nas dok ne bude spreman".

Znali su i čelnici studija Warner Bros što rade kad su predali Pottera u (pre)sigurne ruke redatelja Chrisa Columbusa. Izbor Terryja Gilliama ("Brazil", "12 majmuna") ili Tima Burtona ("Batman", "Batman se vraća") bio bi intrigantniji, ali i preradikalan. Steven Spielberg bio bi, pak, magičniji izbor, no slavni redatelj je na kraju radije odabrao "Umjetnu inteligenciju".

S druge strane, Columbus se dokazao kao scenarist ("Gremlini" i "Gooniesi" u Spielbergovoj produkciji) ili redatelj ("Sam u kući") obiteljskih hit-filmova. On nije čarobnjak poput Spielberga, ali nije ni, Potterovim rječnikom, "bezjak", odnosno "čovjek koji ne zna magiju".

Suradnja sa Spielbergovom u osamdesetima prenijela je na Columbusa tračak "spielbergovske" magije koja se osjeća u "Harryju Potteru", među ostalim u magičnoj glazbi Johna Williamsa i na bajkovitom plakatu Drewa Struzana, dakle majstorskog skladatelja i majstora za postere osamdesetih koji su dali obol na "Indiani Jonesu", "E.T.-ju", "Družbi Goonies"...

U usporedbi s "Prstenovom družinom" Petera Jacksona, najvećem konkurentu "Harryju Potteru" na kinoblagajnama krajem 2001., Columbus je režirao film štreberski, bez nekih rizika i iznenađenja, vodeći računa da vizualizira knjigu od prvog do zadnjeg slova i pazi na svaki zarez, no uspio je dobrim dijelom vizualizirati i njezinu čaroliju i ponašao se kao da snima "Ratove zvijezda" ili "Indianu Jonesa" za djecu.

Rizik je shvatljiv i ništa se nije smjelo prepustiti slučaju prilikom adaptacije romana. Primarni cilj je bio zadovoljiti fanove knjiga, ali i načiniti film pristupačnima onima koji ih nisu čitali, a vole fantazije ili bi ih mogli zavoljeti. "Harry Potter" je morao biti kinohit i postaviti temelje franšize.

Retrospektivno gledano, upravo je s "Potterom" započela franšizacija-blockbusterizacija Hollywooda u novom mileniju kakvu danas znamo, od "Gospodara prstenova" i ekranizacija "fantasy" romana ("Kronike iz Narnije", "Hobit"...) do Marvelovih spektakala. No, unatoč tome, novomilenijskoj franšiznoj proračunatosti, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" djeluje prilično nevino i "staromodno".

Stavimo li po strani neke (danas malčice datirane) vizualne efekte prepoznatljive digitalije za eru novog milenija, primjerice u sceni s ružnim i za najmlađe okice razmjerno zastrašujućim trolom, film kao da pripada nekom drugom, ranijem kinematografskom vremenu, devedesetima ili čak osamdesetima, kad je filmska čarolija bila nešto postojanija u bajkovito-fantazijskom ili nadnaravno-avanturističkom žanru koje "Potter" nastoji podjednako pokriti.

A čarolija je trebala ondašnjoj publici nakon tragedije 11. rujna 2001. i najave "rata protiv terora" nakon terorističkog napada – magični, eskapistički odmak od stvarnosti. Trebalo je publiku (nanovo) uvjeriti da magija opstoji, makar na filmu, usprkos izjavi ujaka Vernona Dursleyja (Richard Griffiths) da "čarolije ne postoje".

U tome je Columbus uspio i zaslužuje pohvalu što je utemeljio svijet Hogwartsa kao škole čarobnjaštva i vještičarenja, tj. filmski "Harry Potter" brend, neovisno o tome što film na momente izgleda "drveno" i klinci još ne glume kao kod Spielberga, osim poletne Emme Watson u ulozi Hermione ("Wingardium Leviosa!"), ali počet će glumiti u nastavku "Odaja tajni" kad se uigraju kao trio, kako Radcliffe, tako i Rupert Grint u ulozi Rona Weasleyja.

Ipak je Columbus kao redatelj nadgledao svaki detalj produkcije, od castinga, do scenografije i kostimografije dok je snimao film od jednake važnosti za Pottera kao "Dr. No" za Jamesa Bonda, pripremivši teren za sve što dolazi. Upravo je on zaslužan za oslikavanje romana, odnosno što je sve oživjelo sa stranica knjige na način kako je oživjelo, vizualizirajući likove, setove i situacije baš onako (ili približno) kako ih je čitatelj mogao vizualizirati čitajući knjigu.

Prepoznao je potencijal u mladim glumcima, uključujući i Toma Feltona u ulozi Dracoa Malfoyja, te pogodio s angažmanom glumačkih veterana, napose Harrisa ("Nepomirljivi", "Gladijator") kao Dumbledorea, Alana Rickmana ("Umri muški", "Robin Hood: Princ lopova") kao mračnog profesora Snapea i Robbieja Coltranea ("Zlatno oko", "Svijet nije dovoljan") kao gorostasa mekog srca Hagrida.

Gotički Hogwarts, do kojeg se dolazi "Hogwarts Express" vlakom s perona 9¾ na King's Crossu, uvjerljiv je zato što je najvećim dijelom stvarni set sa svojim prostorijama, bibliotekama, hodnicima i skrivenim prolazima, a ne nekakva računalna tvorevina, pa je tako čarobnjački šah na golemoj šahovskoj ploči odigran takoreći bez piksela.

Računala su radila u kreaciji stvorenja, od trola do kentaura i troglavog psa, u orkestraciji utakmice metloboja ("quidditch"), svojevrsnog spoja nogometa, košarke i pola na letećim metlama, ali i čarobnjačkih "gadgeta" poput plašta nevidljivosti. U nekima od scena s efektima "spielbergovska" magija doista radi, kao kad kroz dimnjak Dursleyjevih dolijeću stotine pisama za Pottera ili Harry, Hermiona i Ron uđu u prostoriju s letećim ključevima nalik šišmišima.

Scene prelamaju šarmantnu bajkovitu nevinost i strašnu fantazijsku mračnost kakva će uslijediti u kasnijim nastavcima "Princ miješane krvi" i "Darovi smrti 1. dio i 2. dio", a ovdje je sugerirana jezivom pojavom Potterova neprijatelja, "Onoga čije se ime ne smije izgovoriti" (Voldemort, pssst!), koji je parazitski opsjeo mucavog profesora Quirrella da je možda poslužio kao nadahnuće Jamesu Wanu za recentni horor "Zloćudno".

No, na friško obljetničarsko gledanje "Kamena mudraca" s nećacima jasno je da film baš zbog te bajkovite nevinosti još uvijek funkcionira i ostavlja dojam da dolazi iz nekog drugog vremena, kad blockbusteri nisu nužno morali biti mračniji i realističniji da bi bili ambiciozniji, kao što su to od 2005. naovamo postali s novim "Batmanima" i "Bondovima".

Nevinost je zalog "Potterove" zimzelenosti s kojom se generacije djece i mladih mogu poistovijetiti, od 2001. do 2021. godine i dalje. "Sorcerer's Stone" je u osnovi epska priča o pohađanju škole i odrastanju, početak putovanja glavnog lika od djetinjstva do svijeta odraslih.

Dvadeseta godišnjica "Kamena mudraca" okupit će glavne glumce za potrebe TV specijala "Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: ​​Return To Hogwarts" koji će se emitirati 1. siječnja 2022.

"Sva djeca će mu znati ime, dečko će se proslaviti", najavljivali su odrasli likovi s početka filma "Harry Potter i kamen mudraca" ("Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone", 2001.), profesorica McGonagall i profesor Dumbledore u divnom tumačenju Maggie Smith i Richarda Harrisa. Bilo je to prije točno 20 godina.

Dečko se u međuvremenu definitivno proslavio, kako Harry Potter, tako i njegov tumač Daniel Radcliffe, a sva djeca mu/im znaju ime. Potteru je bilo suđeno da postane slavan, veliki čarobnjak, kao i filmu da se prometne u veliki kinohit. "Harry Potter i kamen mudraca" se pretvorio u blockbuster-senzaciju u kinima u drugoj polovici studenoga 2001. godine.

S dotad najboljim vikend-otvaranjem u Americi (90 milijuna $) i zaradom od milijardu dolara u svijetu inicirao je megafranšizu od ukupno osam filmova prema sedam romana J.K. Rowling koja je u to doba objavila samo prve četiri knjige.

McGonagall i Dumbledore su znali što govore kad su predavali Harryja u nesigurne ruke njegove jedine obitelji koju ima, Dursleyjevih, jer "bolje da odraste daleko od nas dok ne bude spreman".

Znali su i čelnici studija Warner Bros što rade kad su predali Pottera u (pre)sigurne ruke redatelja Chrisa Columbusa. Izbor Terryja Gilliama ("Brazil", "12 majmuna") ili Tima Burtona ("Batman", "Batman se vraća") bio bi intrigantniji, ali i preradikalan. Steven Spielberg bio bi, pak, magičniji izbor, no slavni redatelj je na kraju radije odabrao "Umjetnu inteligenciju".

S druge strane, Columbus se dokazao kao scenarist ("Gremlini" i "Gooniesi" u Spielbergovoj produkciji) ili redatelj ("Sam u kući") obiteljskih hit-filmova. On nije čarobnjak poput Spielberga, ali nije ni, Potterovim rječnikom, "bezjak", odnosno "čovjek koji ne zna magiju".

Suradnja sa Spielbergovom u osamdesetima prenijela je na Columbusa tračak "spielbergovske" magije koja se osjeća u "Harryju Potteru", među ostalim u magičnoj glazbi Johna Williamsa i na bajkovitom plakatu Drewa Struzana, dakle majstorskog skladatelja i majstora za postere osamdesetih koji su dali obol na "Indiani Jonesu", "E.T.-ju", "Družbi Goonies"...

U usporedbi s "Prstenovom družinom" Petera Jacksona, najvećem konkurentu "Harryju Potteru" na kinoblagajnama krajem 2001., Columbus je režirao film štreberski, bez nekih rizika i iznenađenja, vodeći računa da vizualizira knjigu od prvog do zadnjeg slova i pazi na svaki zarez, no uspio je dobrim dijelom vizualizirati i njezinu čaroliju i ponašao se kao da snima "Ratove zvijezda" ili "Indianu Jonesa" za djecu.

Rizik je shvatljiv i ništa se nije smjelo prepustiti slučaju prilikom adaptacije romana. Primarni cilj je bio zadovoljiti fanove knjiga, ali i načiniti film pristupačnima onima koji ih nisu čitali, a vole fantazije ili bi ih mogli zavoljeti. "Harry Potter" je morao biti kinohit i postaviti temelje franšize.

Retrospektivno gledano, upravo je s "Potterom" započela franšizacija-blockbusterizacija Hollywooda u novom mileniju kakvu danas znamo, od "Gospodara prstenova" i ekranizacija "fantasy" romana ("Kronike iz Narnije", "Hobit"...) do Marvelovih spektakala. No, unatoč tome, novomilenijskoj franšiznoj proračunatosti, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" djeluje prilično nevino i "staromodno".

Stavimo li po strani neke (danas malčice datirane) vizualne efekte prepoznatljive digitalije za eru novog milenija, primjerice u sceni s ružnim i za najmlađe okice razmjerno zastrašujućim trolom, film kao da pripada nekom drugom, ranijem kinematografskom vremenu, devedesetima ili čak osamdesetima, kad je filmska čarolija bila nešto postojanija u bajkovito-fantazijskom ili nadnaravno-avanturističkom žanru koje "Potter" nastoji podjednako pokriti.

A čarolija je trebala ondašnjoj publici nakon tragedije 11. rujna 2001. i najave "rata protiv terora" nakon terorističkog napada – magični, eskapistički odmak od stvarnosti. Trebalo je publiku (nanovo) uvjeriti da magija opstoji, makar na filmu, usprkos izjavi ujaka Vernona Dursleyja (Richard Griffiths) da "čarolije ne postoje".

U tome je Columbus uspio i zaslužuje pohvalu što je utemeljio svijet Hogwartsa kao škole čarobnjaštva i vještičarenja, tj. filmski "Harry Potter" brend, neovisno o tome što film na momente izgleda "drveno" i klinci još ne glume kao kod Spielberga, osim poletne Emme Watson u ulozi Hermione ("Wingardium Leviosa!"), ali počet će glumiti u nastavku "Odaja tajni" kad se uigraju kao trio, kako Radcliffe, tako i Rupert Grint u ulozi Rona Weasleyja.

Ipak je Columbus kao redatelj nadgledao svaki detalj produkcije, od castinga, do scenografije i kostimografije dok je snimao film od jednake važnosti za Pottera kao "Dr. No" za Jamesa Bonda, pripremivši teren za sve što dolazi. Upravo je on zaslužan za oslikavanje romana, odnosno što je sve oživjelo sa stranica knjige na način kako je oživjelo, vizualizirajući likove, setove i situacije baš onako (ili približno) kako ih je čitatelj mogao vizualizirati čitajući knjigu.

Prepoznao je potencijal u mladim glumcima, uključujući i Toma Feltona u ulozi Dracoa Malfoyja, te pogodio s angažmanom glumačkih veterana, napose Harrisa ("Nepomirljivi", "Gladijator") kao Dumbledorea, Alana Rickmana ("Umri muški", "Robin Hood: Princ lopova") kao mračnog profesora Snapea i Robbieja Coltranea ("Zlatno oko", "Svijet nije dovoljan") kao gorostasa mekog srca Hagrida.

Gotički Hogwarts, do kojeg se dolazi "Hogwarts Express" vlakom s perona 9¾ na King's Crossu, uvjerljiv je zato što je najvećim dijelom stvarni set sa svojim prostorijama, bibliotekama, hodnicima i skrivenim prolazima, a ne nekakva računalna tvorevina, pa je tako čarobnjački šah na golemoj šahovskoj ploči odigran takoreći bez piksela.

Računala su radila u kreaciji stvorenja, od trola do kentaura i troglavog psa, u orkestraciji utakmice metloboja ("quidditch"), svojevrsnog spoja nogometa, košarke i pola na letećim metlama, ali i čarobnjačkih "gadgeta" poput plašta nevidljivosti. U nekima od scena s efektima "spielbergovska" magija doista radi, kao kad kroz dimnjak Dursleyjevih dolijeću stotine pisama za Pottera ili Harry, Hermiona i Ron uđu u prostoriju s letećim ključevima nalik šišmišima.

Scene prelamaju šarmantnu bajkovitu nevinost i strašnu fantazijsku mračnost kakva će uslijediti u kasnijim nastavcima "Princ miješane krvi" i "Darovi smrti 1. dio i 2. dio", a ovdje je sugerirana jezivom pojavom Potterova neprijatelja, "Onoga čije se ime ne smije izgovoriti" (Voldemort, pssst!), koji je parazitski opsjeo mucavog profesora Quirrella da je možda poslužio kao nadahnuće Jamesu Wanu za recentni horor "Zloćudno".

No, na friško obljetničarsko gledanje "Kamena mudraca" s nećacima jasno je da film baš zbog te bajkovite nevinosti još uvijek funkcionira i ostavlja dojam da dolazi iz nekog drugog vremena, kad blockbusteri nisu nužno morali biti mračniji i realističniji da bi bili ambiciozniji, kao što su to od 2005. naovamo postali s novim "Batmanima" i "Bondovima".

Nevinost je zalog "Potterove" zimzelenosti s kojom se generacije djece i mladih mogu poistovijetiti, od 2001. do 2021. godine i dalje. "Sorcerer's Stone" je u osnovi epska priča o pohađanju škole i odrastanju, početak putovanja glavnog lika od djetinjstva do svijeta odraslih.

Ekipa se okuplja za 20. godišnjicu filma

Dvadeseta godišnjica "Kamena mudraca" okupit će glavne glumce za potrebe TV specijala "Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: ​​Return To Hogwarts" koji će se emitirati 1. siječnja 2022.

‘Harry Potter i kamen mudraca‘: Čarobnjak koji je obećavao

"Sva djeca će mu znati ime, dečko će se proslaviti", najavljivali su odrasli likovi s početka filma "Harry Potter i kamen mudraca" ("Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone", 2001.), profesorica McGonagall i profesor Dumbledore u divnom tumačenju Maggie Smith i Richarda Harrisa. Bilo je to prije točno 20 godina.

Dečko se u međuvremenu definitivno proslavio, kako Harry Potter, tako i njegov tumač Daniel Radcliffe, a sva djeca mu/im znaju ime. Potteru je bilo suđeno da postane slavan, veliki čarobnjak, kao i filmu da se prometne u veliki kinohit. "Harry Potter i kamen mudraca" se pretvorio u blockbuster-senzaciju u kinima u drugoj polovici studenoga 2001. godine.

S dotad najboljim vikend-otvaranjem u Americi (90 milijuna $) i zaradom od milijardu dolara u svijetu inicirao je megafr...
